What You Can Expect

ATV Ride to the Jade Cavern

ATV's to Jade Cavern

Make your way to the designated meeting point outside the Hard Rock Cafe and meet your guide and group at your selected morning or afternoon departure time. After a safety briefing, hop on your ATV for a ride through the jungles near Cozumel.

Although you are provided with a helmet, it is recommended that you bring a bandana, goggles, and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty on what is typically a muddy ride. And remember that close-toed shoes are required!

Ride down a series of trails en route to a cenote, a type of deep swimming hole found within caves. Put on your life vest and dive in from far above the 65-foot deep pool, or climb in from ground level. Swim beneath stalactites before continuing to a coral cave.

Drive through the coral cave while learning from your guide about the native community who once lived in the area. Return to your original departure point at the Hard Rock Cafe at the end of your tour.

Bottled water is served at various stops throughout the tour. The tour reception has lockers for your possessions and offer closed-toed sandals for rent.

I highly recommend this tour especially the price being just right and way cheaper than the cruise boat has to offer. I was docked at the Plaza Langosta pier and took the forty minute walk to the hard rock cafe and everything was a very easy process once arrived. The ATV was very nice and the guides were very helpful. The Jade Cavern was a really cool scenic spot. Don't hesitate! Book this excursion with Viator.

Had a great time on this tour! The directions were easy for our meeting place and from there they have vans that take you to the ATV tour. Our group consisted of about 10-12 people. You watch a short video then get on your ATVs. Not sure how long we were on ATVs before coming to cavern, but my hand was numb most of the time. Your gas is a thumb trigger. The terrain can be very rocky in spots but is mostly packed dirt/clay. We brought bandanas and bug spray as suggested, but we didnt need them on our tour. Your only stop is at the cavern. I only wish they gave us more time there. We only had 10 or 15 minutes to jump into cavern and then it was time for our return trip. On the way back there was a sudden downpour which made it that much more fun! Then we went through 2 large puddles of muddy water so if your intent is to stay clean and dry, this tour isn't for you. I also liked that on the way back, those who were slower were in the back of the line. There were 3 guides: 1 up front, 1 in the back, and 1 in the middle for the slower group to follow, since they can get pretty far behind. We had to stop a couple times so they could catch up but that was fine with me - it let me shake out my numb hand. After your return they let you sample 5 or 6 tequilas, which were excellent. I hate tequila, but loved these! They try to sell you pictures for 20 each, or in our case the flash drive for 70 maybe 50 or 60 pictures for our group of 5. You can bargain with them. When I walked away, they dropped the price to 60. Ultimately we didn't buy them, we are hoping the go pro has good footage. I had so much fun on this tour! Our guides were Josue, Cesar and Armando. Not sure who was the lead guide on the way back, but we sure were moving fast! The company even arranged for their van to take us back to our port rather than to the meeting place, which saved us getting our own taxi from the meeting spot to the port, and about 10. Such a blast! Would definitely do this again!

The best excursion we went on by far! Wear your bathing suits, bug spray, and sun glasses! This is an epic trip of 4 wheeling through the rain forest! You will have a blast! You will get dirty! Then you will be able to cliff jump into the fresh water sanota, and enjoy a peaceful secluded swim in the Cozumel rain forest. Then once again onto another adventure back from the cavern for more 4 wheeling fun filled action of mud riding, jumping, and then underground..... The staff was amazing! The only thing missing was alcohol! Haha. I promise you will not regret this trip!

The ATV Ride was awesome. We had taken many ATV Tours throughout the years and I would rate this tour as one of the best. About 3/4 of the way through the tour you are taken to a cenote, which simply explained is a pond of water in an underground open cave, where you can enter the water by jumping into it from heights of 25 feet, 18 feet or by following the path to a ladder to climb into. The water is 64 feet deep therefore safe to jump into from these heights. I did the 25 foot jump and it was exhilarating. At the end of the tour I was very disappointed because we were not given time to have the free shot of tequila that was included nor ample time to rinse off and change into clean clothing which you will definitely want to do especially if you did not take advantage of the cenote.

This was by far the best ATV excursion I have been on in any port. I highly recommend it. I wish there had been mud but it isn't their fault that they had been short rain. It was bumpy and dirty and not short on excitement. I have been on some that were slow going to the point I could take selfies on the ATV while moving. Not this one! It was awesome! They do not offer much water though so put a couple bottles in your backpack.

I read so many reviews about this trip in advance on Trip Advisor and want to thank the folks who reviewed their own trips. Our trip was much better using the tips that we had gotten from their experiences. I made sure that everyone in my party had Full goggles, gloves, face/neck do-rags, sunblock, bug spray, bathing suits, towels and EXTRA clothing including shoes if yours are not water shoes. We had our trip on 4-11-17 which is the dry season so it was very dusty which is fine as it makes the driving more of a challenge. Do not go on this if you hate getting dirty and wet, it is not for you. Go to the spa or something. Please take my advice and bring the items I mentioned above. Better to have than have not and wish you did. LOL. We came prepared to throw our clothes away afterwards which is what we did. They have change rooms, restrooms outdoor showers and rental lockers. The 5 dollar locker was large enough for 2 backpacks each. We rode the ATV's which are in pretty nice shape considering the beating they take and I mean to tell you I rode mine hard...like I stole it. LOL Non of us had any problems requiring a mechanic or different machine. Our guide was a lot of fun and very patient with our slower riders. Only half of our group enjoyed the thrill of jumping into the water several times from the highest point 25' which helped get the dust off and make the new dust stick better when you head back. LOL The sulphur smell is not the most pleasant but it is mother natures creation and one of the reasons the Cenote exists so try to ignore it. The bats in the overhead are sleeping until you start doing cannon balls. Then they fly out but they don't come near you. Myself and my family members are all good at riding motorcycles and ATV's offroad which was a plus for us. Some of the strangers who got put into our group were not not very strong riders and were slow. We stayed up and close to our guide who was running our machines at full throttle in 5th gear. He would then take a pause and let the others catch up. They too were having fun but just a little slower. We used these small breaks to wipe the dust off our Gopro camera lenses. Make sure you wipe them off so you get the best video you can. The paths and roads are VERY rough and dusty if you are not in the front. The dust does make it more fun and challenging so it you want more of a challenge stay near the back and eat everyones dust. However, if you are not a good rider the reduced vision might be a problem? Keep that in mind when putting your group into riding order. All of the staff were professional and friendly. At no time do you feel like this is a non reputable vendor. We highly recommend this excursion and hope to try it again someday but this time in the MUD, MUD, MUD. We did buy 1 photo from them that was framed and ready for us at the end if we wanted it. They DID NOT push us to buy it. No hard sell which I like. That made us want to have it even more. The frame has a sandstone finish to it with nice designs on it. We paid the 40 they were asking because we really liked the photo of us all. I will have copies made at CVS for everyone.

Lastly, our ship was 1.5 hrs. late getting to port due to a man overboard issue half way between Key west and Cozumel. When we finally arrived at the Shopping center we did not see anyone. We walked a bit further and found them at tables in the outdoor eating area of the HARD ROCK. They LITERALLY get the groups together on the Hard Rock Cafe property. Make sure to Go to the HARD ROCK main entrance!! When we gave the girl our Voucher and showed our Drivers Lic. she informed us that we were bumped from the 1230 to the 330 group which was the right thing to do since we were not there on time. We have no heartburn over that. No need to make everyone wait for us. We waited 1.5 hrs. having drinks, eating some good buffalo wings using the restrooms. The Van showed up on time and it was comfortable with a properly working AC unit. The driver was professional in his dress and driving ability.

So, in closing.....GO and have fun!!!

This was an awesome experience! We came off our cruise ship at the international cruise port and meet the cruise guide at Hard Rock Cafe, right across the street after you exit the cruise port. Was really easy to find. The company was very professional and provided the needed guidance for a great time. Wee went in March, which is a dryer season. Instead of mud, we had a lot of dust and the bandanas are definitely needed. Stopping at the Jade Cavern was really cool too. We jumped off the 25 foot cliff into the water such an awesome experience.

Our family had a wonderful time! Tour guide, Miguel, was great. Our kids are 14 and 16. While the 14 year old was mad that he could not drive, but rather had to ride with his sister, he still says it was the highlight of his trip. Kids loved jumping into the cenote. We were worried that this part would be a let down after reading other reviews. We were not disappointed. Miguel even gave the kids a Mayan history lesson which I have heard them telling friends about on more than one occasion. This is an excellent choice for a family excursion. I also want to note the extreme helpfulness that we found with the Cozumel taxi system after my son left his cell phone in a cab. The friendliness and successful efforts to recover the phone were amazing! We were only in Cozumel for a day during a cruise but look forward to a return.
