Great Cozumel Tour.
Lin_C, Jan 2023
Everything was excellent. There was a little delay with the transportation and it did make us late getting there but Carlos made sure he got everything in for our tour and lunch. He knows all about his Ranch and what they have done over the years to make it a working farm and a great experience. I loved being at his family’s place and seeing how they live everyday. Much more meaningful. I would love to come again with my entire crew of great grands and their fathers. Lol. This was a great tour and the food we fixed and they fixed was awesome.
Great Afternoon!
Toby_C, Jan 2023
Our afternoon with Carlos and his family was a unique and wonderful experience. We learned a lot about the fruits growing on the farm and local culture and history. The tour continued with our group helping to make lunch appetizers and Carlos' dad cooking up the main course on an open fire. At the end of the meal, we had a tequila tasting of tequila made by Carlos and his cousin. A totally enjoyable afternoon!
Loved the Tour!
James_M, Jan 2023
Amazing experience. Very informative and enjoyable. Would absolutely recommend to anyone and would take the tour again. Learned all about farming on the island, different trees, picked fruit, learned about Mayan cultural influences on farming, learned the entire tequila making process (from plant to bottle). Sampled different fruits, coconuts, drinks and foods. Made a traditional Mayan appetizer, amazing guacamole (fresh picked ingredients) and entree. The food was delicious. The drinks were phenomenal. We’re not really drinkers but the tequila was smooth and delicious. Carlos made a variety of excellent alcohol and non-alcohol drinks. Carlos was very friendly, funny and informative. Had a great time!
A great hands-on experience of local culture, food, and an active farm!

This is a unique excursion that will appeal to any cultural foodies who want to have an interactive experience with the locals! Frank, who coordinates the tour, was very professional and friendly. He personally drove us from the meeting location to the farm. Carlos, the farm's owner and operator, personally conducted the tour and guided the activities. His English communication was good and he made local culture and cuisine come to life! He is a wealth of information about tequila production! He also provided an interactive, hands-on experience which included harvesting sapotes, cutting and drinking fresh coconuts (plain and island style), drinking fresh horchata (and Carlo's special horchata creation with the family's organic tequila brand), making fresh guacamole and salsa, and eating chicken tacos with homemade corn tortillas (made by his mother)! For a short 3-hour excursion, this was one of the best cultural opportunities available to interact with the locals! The available booking times gave us plenty of time to shop before returning to the ship. I would highly recommend it!! Tip: Don't forget sunscreen, a hat, and insect repellant.
No show transportation...
David_C, Jan 2023
No show transportation and cancelled after waiting over a hour! Very disappointing day with no other options for us!
There was no event - sad.
KatieRose, Jan 2023
I had NO experience at all except for two wasted taxi fares and a day of my vacation...while I realize there was a caveat about needing a minimum class size, nobody bothered to let me know that there weren't enough people booked until I arrived at the meeting point. Seems to me like they would know at least by early in the morning and let me know. By noon, when you find out, it's too late in the day to book something else!! The reason I scored it a 3 is because that's halfway between 0 (which is what I got) and 5 (which is what I think the event would have been).
Enjoyable and special experience that is a must do!
Nicole_J, Dec 2022
This was one of the most amazing days of vacation! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The farm is a special place and Carlos was an excellent host! We cannot wait to return. The food, the atmosphere, and the fun we had was so memorable. Did I say the food, so yummy! You will learn, have fun, and leave satisfied :)
Amazing, authentic experience
Karlene_M, Nov 2022
We arrived & was greeted by Carlos, who was very friendly, personable & funny. We learned about their family farm & a lot about how tequila is made. We drank coconut water & enjoyed delicious drinks. The highlight of our trip!
Fun on the Farm
Tamara_T, Sep 2022
We learned about the process for tequila and made the best guacamole I have ever eaten. It was a great experience!
Wonderful tequila tour!
Chell_L, Sep 2022
First off Carlos and Gabriel were amazing. They entertained, the fed us good food and showed us their little farm. But this is not a cooking class. This is a tequila farm tour and tasting. My 13 Year old had a blast chasing chickens, but couldn't really partake in much else. We made some guacamole and some salsa that I will make again for sure!!!! But the only cooking done is by Carlos! Still two thumbs up absolutely!
Thomas_G, Sep 2022
We highly recommend this!!! Carlos is a phenomenal host. If you are looking for an authentic experience learning about Cozumel culture, food, an tradition this is the place. We learned so much and had the best time. I can’t speak highly enough about all that we enjoyed.
Something different to do in Cozumel
Catherine_T, Aug 2022
A little hard to find our driver at first but once we found him it was roughly 15 minute drive out of the city. Very educational but at times a little bit long. Family run farm, have a little patience with the drinks as there’s only one person making them. The food was good not necessarily a cooking class, we made guacamole and salsa which were fantastic! He didn’t make us sope which were really good. Astra The cow is super cute not as friendly though as some of the reviews say. Our daughter has a large bruise from getting head butted from the cow LOL overall a fun time and would recommend.

Great experience!
Blain_V, Jul 2022
We had a great time! Carlos was a great host. He talked about all that they did on their farm. It was really hot so it would’ve been a little better if he hadn’t talked so much. We got to make salsa and guacamole which was delicious! Then he made us some drinks to try and a Mayan dish. It was all wonderful! Thanks again Carlos.
Out Of the tourist area into a bit of nature
Cyndy_F, May 2022
What a off the beaten path from the tourist area. Our host was so gracious, we climbed the tree for coconuts, got vegetables and made our salsa and guacamole all was excellent then we were served natural margaritas that were excellent to accompany our sopes. a great experience. Thank you all for offering the excursion.
What a pleasant peaceful afternoon this was!
Deborah_W, Mar 2022
What a pleasant peaceful afternoon this was! We were promptly picked up just outside the cruise terminal and driven to our Farm to Table Experience at a nearby farm. Carlos leisurely walked us through the property as he identified and explained the uses for the various fruit trees and plants growing on their farm. We had an opportunity to pick our own coconut, my aged knees declined that offer, but we all enjoyed drinking coconut milk from our individual coconuts. Carlos made us the most amazing tequila cocktail that I will try very hard to replicate at home. I realize I will not be using the delicious, picked from the tree fruit so it will never be as good as the ones we enjoyed here. We pitched in to make guacamole and salsa - both amazing. Very delicious shredded chicken sopes were prepared for us as we watched and we all sat down at the outdoor table and enjoyed a very tasty meal. We were returned to our cruise port with plenty of time to spare. I highly recommend this experience for couples, friends, families. Don't forget the very engaging and likable Estrella either! Great folks are running this farm and I wish them all the best as they continue to grow and expand. Don't forget to check out the B&B they have in the works also! This was time and money well spent.
Phenomenal Experience--Great People, Great Food
Patrick_G, Jan 2022
My wife and I visited Cozumel and wanted to try something a little off of the beaten path--this experience was more than we could have wished for. The Toledo's were friendly, welcoming, engaging, and very informative. We got to tour the ranch, hear the story behind everything, and ultimately eat some phenomenal food. I would highly recommend this trip to anybody visiting Cozumel. Very unique and rewarding experience.
UNIQUE Adventure!
Dennis_W, Jan 2022
This is a unique, down to earth visit to a real farm/ranch on Cozumel. The proprietors, Carlos and Orlando, are true stewards of their land and enjoyed hearing the history of the property. The pride they have in their many fruit trees is evident from the start as Carlos describes the many varieties they have. We were treated to fresh coconuts! We made salsa, guacamole, and drinks from fresh farm produce. We were then treated to traditional Sopes made on an outdoor wood fired grill…..delicious! We enjoyed interacting with Estrella, their “pet” cow, their two dogs and many colorful chickens. We have done many side excursions during our travels. The Cozumel Farm to Table is one of the most UNIQUE! Couldn’t have a better host than Carlos!

Wonderful farm to table!
Amy_B, Dec 2021
Super fun farm to table experience. We are a family of 4 (2 college age daughters). We wanted a different type of excursion to get an appreciation for the real Mexico. The owner of the farm gave us a tour of his fruit trees which was very educational and we got to pick our own coconuts. He made us some delicious drinks. We got to cook our own salsa dip and guacamole as well as chicken tortillas. Very fun and delicious. The pet cow is like a big dog and the chickens roam around. We loved our time there and would highly recommend this excursion to anyone who loves to cook or who wants to experience the real Mexico.

A real farm to table afternoon in Mexico
MaryAnn_K, Dec 2021
I was in Cozumel for one day, visiting as a cruise ship traveler. I met my driver at a pre-determined meeting location, his car was modern, clean and has AC. We went to the farm. Local music was being played and there was a nice outdoor cooking and seating area. I was welcomed and had a wonderful hibiscus drink then toured the orchard - you will learn the different trees and shrubs and the 3 varieties of coconuts in the photos I shared. I climbed a ladder and harvested my own coconut, opened it with a cleaver, then split it with a machete! Not everyone has to do this, it's optional. I prepared and the host prepared Mayan beverages, snacks, and a main dish. It was a wonderful shore excursion, personalized, and I want to return with family and friends. Remember a camera or a phone, wear closed toe shoes, and relax!
Such a special experience!
Catherine_O, Nov 2021
This was such an incredible experience! We had a wonderful afternoon exploring the ranch and learning about local crops that Carlos grows on his family’s farm. He was incredibly kind, and we enjoyed being able to see the love he has for his work and for his animals on the farm. Estrella, his cow, followed us around all afternoon asking for coconut scraps (she also had the temperament of a Labrador puppy!) We HIGHLY recommend taking an afternoon for this! It was the highlight of our trip!
