  • For mainland passengers: Remember this activity starts at Cozumel. We recommend you arrive at the ferry pier in Playa del Carmen an hour before your ferry departs so that you can make it on time. Snorkeling in Cozumel

I loved snorkeling in the 3 separate sites we were taken too, however was a little disappointed that we didn’t get to see many fish. Also I would have liked a photo of my husband and me snorkeling but the photographer didn’t get around to taking everyone’s photo

I booked this tour for my family of four and for our friends (also a family of four). I was SO nervous because the kids are all teenagers and not always easy to please. Plus, one of the adults and two kids were very scared about snorkeling. But, everything about this experience was easy, fun, and enjoyable for ALL of us! The crew was very professional. The meetup was easy, boat was great, and the snorkeling was phenomenal. A highlight of our 7 day cruise was the snorkeling and it’s SUCH a better deal than booking an excursion through our cruise line. We’ll absolutely do it again!
Great family snorkeling tour

Inexpensive. Not much to see, but it could be the time of the year (mid March). Diving staff was helpful. Drinks on board was a plus. Had to deal with small jellyfishes at the last dive site.

Even though Arrecifes de Cozumel is a federally protected marine park, due to climate change the intensity of tropical storms are changing our world. When rain clouds dump fresh water into the oceans top layer, it can change the temperature and salinity profiles. These daily changes from weather, can encourage the wildlife to stay hidden in the depths of the coral reef after rain. As much as we try to get the fish to smile for you, they really are on their own schedule. Sorry you got to see jellyfish. Not often happen, but we do have always onboard the solution, a mix of water with vinegar and 3 minutes after no more itching. Everyone loves free drinks, so we make sure ice cold beer and refreshments are available while on board the Cubana. Thank you for choosing Safetours. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Staff was wonderful! My son was scared to death and I had to get out with him they offered to watch him while I snorkeled. I declined but they took my other son out so he can enjoy himself.

Wonderful experience with family. We had 74 year olds to 4 year olds with us and had the best time on this excursion. Julian, our guide, was very friendly and helpful during this outing. Pointing out eagle rays, lobsters, and bringing up sand from 45 feet below for our little guy so he could touch the bottom of the ocean. The rest of the crew were great and 2 hours is plenty of time to explore the wonders beneath. They even take photos with a special camera to capture memories being made. Overall wonderful experience, will do again next time we come to Cozumel.

Great company to snorkel with. Took as to three different sites in the two hour period. Knowledgeable and friendly. Maybe recommend full life jackets for the children so they're more comfortable snorkeling.

In this snorkeling experience , lots of snorkeling, experienced guides and value for money is a must in this short 2 hour tour. Safety is always first. On board the Cubana we have the 5 different proper types of life jackets available . Type 1 and 2 are bulky and are designed to turn a unconscious person face up in water. This makes it impossible to put face in water for snorkeling. Type 3 are made for water sports, they are a confortable fit for those who can't swim or have fear of water. These are the life jackets we recommend when snorkeling. Type 4 are designed to be held on to, not worn. Type 5 is a flotation coat. Up to 2 life rings are available to hold onto during the snorkeling expedition, should swimmers not feel comfortable in water. Thanks for bringing attention to life jacket safety. Fantastic Snorkeling by Glass Bottom Boat

This was amazing and very reasonably priced. Three of our party absolutely loved the snorkeling, the other 2 preferred to stay on board the glass bottom boat. There are 3 different stops for snorkeling. There are also 3 groups of snorkelers for each stop, starting with the most experienced and ending with those who are not experienced and each has a crew member to supervise. We all loved it. All the staff were excellent and we were provided with water, soft drinks or beer. We got a taxi from the cruise port to the meeting point as our port was further from it and it only took about 5-10 minutes to get there. Highly recommended!

This is exactly what we wanted. Not too long, not too short of a trip. The crew was fantastic. They took us to three reefs and all of them had great fish and coral to see. If you want to get in the ocean and see some gorgeous sea life for a good price and absolutely zero hassle, this is a great experience.

Great Experience With Great Value

Wow! This tour was great with an awesome price. The tour guide was awesome and explained everything thoroughly. They provided everything you need and also had free drinks including beer! We spent most of the time in the water snorkeling with only small boat rides in between stops. This was steps outside of the cruise port so it was quick and easy to get to. There was a photographer with an underwater camera that took pictures and did not pressure you to buy them. Great experience, highlights recommend!

Good value - plenty of time in the water - 3 different locations, nice reefs and plenty of fish to see. Guides were cautious as it was a windy day with good amount of waves / chop. Recommend for 'beginners' and casual snorkelers.

Definitely recommend this excursion

We were very happy with this excursion. First of all, it was VERY inexpensive compared to other snorkeling trips. The boat crew were ALL very friendly and helpful. Drinks on board were ice cold. The boat was just a short walk from our cruise ship. For the snorkeling, we only went a few short minutes off shore for our first stop. It was a man-made reef with plenty of fish and other critters to see. The photographer that came with us took great pictures, feeding the fish to gather them around us. The other two stops were in deeper water, but again lots to see. The best part of this excursion was that we snorkeled for a VERY long time. The day before, we had snorkeled on an excursion that we booked through the cruise, and it was a VERY long day with only a short amount of snorkeling, and the rest spent in a crowded bus driving around the island with not much to see, and then stopping at a not-so-nice beach for the snorkeling. Regarding Viator customer service, we had to cancel for one individual (24 hours before) and they refunded us promptly. Overall, this excursion was a great value for the money, and I highly recommend it.
