The island of Crete has been an active winemaking region for centuries – men and women have been growing grapes on the island and turning it into wine since the times of ancient Greece. On this easygoing afternoon tour, visit wineries carrying on that tradition today in a small and intimate tour group. Enjoy exclusive behind the scenes walks through these wineries, sample their wines and learn how to taste them like the professionals on the island.
Not just wine: sample a range of local produce, dairy and more at the wineries
Enjoy stunning views of the countryside around Chania as you drive to each stop
Convenient central departure point: meet your guide at Chania’s Municipal Market
We were based on west side of Chania so our guide picked us up near our apartment. We went to two different vineyards and tasted 10 different wines. Our guide also gave advice on assessing them. The drive through the countryside and the hills gave us a sample of the beauty of the country. A very enjoyable afternoon.
