A great experience, although it's a long day. We were picked up at our downtown hotel at 420 am and were returned about 8:30 pm. We arrived on site around 9:30 am. Our tour was about 3 hours, with an optional time alone on site of 2-3 hours. Since we were going in Feb, we had to do the bus halfway and the train halfway. Both were nice, while not luxurious. Our guide, Yuri, was great. He gave us a lot of history of the Incas in a mostly unbiased, unromantic form. He gave us a fair amount of time at each stop in the area, and allowed us time to explore on our own afterward for a couple of hours. The train ride included some food and non alcoholic drinks, as well as a little dance and fashion show. Our tour had about 20 people on it. We considered booking each portion ourselves and hiring the guide at the site, but we are very glad we chose to do this and take the stress a very long and tired day out of the day.
This was the best tour from beginning to end. We paid for the vista dome train and had the first two seats. Views were spectacular and the river was “angry”. They give you complimentary drinks and snacks on the train going and returning. They also entertain you with a native Inca dance and fashion
Its a long day leaving the hotel at 4:00am, but well worth it. The guide was great and helped make the trip memorable.
Our guide met us at 4:20 a.m., then we had a 2 hour bus ride, a 90 minute train ride, and another 20 minute bus ride, but all that travel was worth the visit to the site. Our guide Robinson led us through the ruins, providing excellent background. Machu Picchu is a must see destination in my opinion.
Well and carefully organized tour to one of the wonders of the world. Pick up on time. Transportation good. The guide on the site was knowledgable and patient with the old and slow members of the group. We had approximately two hours on our own to explore the town of Machu Picchu. The rail part of the journey was fun including one man show and a fashion show by two of the employees on the way back. The food served was good. An excellent, culturally exciting tour.
the entire experience was easy we had all transfers and tickets delivered to our hotel our tour guide was so knowable and nice i would do this trip and exertion again in heartbeat

Also a truly a beautiful place rich in history and tradition. The trip is kinda adventurous because you have to take a train to get there. Its a must visit for history buffs bucket list.
.... an experience of a lifetime, tears on my eyes is a joy in my heart especially traveling with my beloved wife.
Absolutely amazing. The guide met us at the train station and took us on a magical tour through one of the greatest wonders!
This trip was really great! Viajes Pacifico did a good job in serving us from hotel pick up to hotel drop off. A tour agent was available in every segment of the trip to and from Machu Picchu. Our English tour group was a small one, with Jhon as the guide. He did a good job in trying to tell us what we needed to know about the place. Also, he was so considerate especially to my wife who struggled to climb up to the citadel and in going down through the ruins. We took it slow, but surely, we made it...
Had a great time. Tour company picked us up on time, the train ride was an awesome visual experience. The tour guide at Machu Pichu was knowledgeable and gave us ample time to see the place.
This tour was really good , small group (we where 3 with one guide in MP) . Only some things to know , you get a E-mail at 19 the day before to know the pickup (4:20 for us). Also you dont get Any time to explore MP by yourself beside some spots Where you have time for photos .A very good guide!!!
Tour company provided everything necessary for pickup, transportation by vehicle, train, and bus to and from Machu Picchu along with a guide. Every aspect of the trip including the transfers and guides, with English speaking personnel, was smooth, efficient, and comfortable.
Jury, our guide was quite informative about this historic site. The rain put a damper on the tour but I guess this was not under our control. Would enjoy going again with sunshine!
Amazing tour, everything was on time and as planned.
Guide had a deep good knowledge of the place, very happy with him.
We got picked up from our hotel at 4.20 am for an almost two hour ride to the train station.
We travelled in a comfortable mini van Mercedes Benz of good quality. We were with a group of nine people. The driver however drove in an uncomfortable manner and too fast. It was way too cold in the van and when we asked to turn on the heating, the driver did not want to cooperate, because his windscreen would get condensation mist. He did not know how to operate the climate system at all. The train ride to Aquas Calientes was breathtaking. The trip was long but very worth it. Everything went smoothly and there was always a person from the agency to guide and help us. At arrival an amazing guide was waiting for us. He was passionate about Matchu Picvhu and knew absolutely everything about its history, impressive. Overall an amazing day you will never forget. The organisation is Smooth, efficient and very friendly. There is no better option.
Our great tour guide made what was already a memorable day more enjoyable if possible.

This was an incredible tour. The arrangements from Viages Pacifico were great. Our guide, Jaime was amazing. I do wish we could have spent more time at Machu Picchu. We walked to all the main sites but there was no time to just absorb the beauty of the place.
Great experience, knowledgeable guide. However, the entire tour was guided. No venturing on your own.
The trip was great, everything went to plan and even the weather was kind to us!
An extraordinary experience of visiting Machu Picchu done comfortably and informatively thanks to Viator. Seamless point-to-point transportation including hotel pick-up early AM, PeruRail train, bus up to Machu Picchu, and hotel drop-off late PM, made the long-journey quite pleasant. Having the local expert/certified Machu Picchu guide allowed us to take in the views and be educated simultaneously. HIGHLY recommend this trip if you want to maximize of your single day visit to Machu Picchu.
Worry and hassle free day trip to Machu Picchu. Our guide was very knowledgeable. This popular tourist attraction is well worth it. If you are considering skipping it because of the cost and the crowds don't.
So first of all, I will echo all the great things everyone else has said before me. That was the reason I booked this tour, and it didn't disappoint. I will instead focus a little more on timelines and other things that are kind of missing from previous reviews, hoping to give future travelers a little more info on what to expect. Ok, my only complaint is this: In the days before the tour, you get the email saying that your tour is coming up and if you haven't given your passport or hotel, it may be cancelled. It also tells you that you will receive an email the day before telling you what time the bus will pick you up. Well, that email comes late, like 1827 local time, which is enough to scare you. Luckily, I went to the office at 1500 and found out my pickup time. I wish they were a little more ahead of the game. When you get picked up super early, you plan to get to bed early.
Otherwise, everything was smooth and well organized. I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn, which is the closest hotel to the train station, so I was picked up last: 0520. 25 minute ride to the station, get on train for 3 hours and 20 minutes up, transfer to bus for a 28 minute ride and you are at the entrance. I think we walked into MP at 1050. Everything you read says they split the park into two sessions but I think those are entrance times. We didn't have to leave at 1200. Also, everything online says no food in the park, no umbrellas, and no large bags....I think all rules were broken and nobody said anything. Heck, our guide had an umbrella for the sun. I'd advise against eating much more than a snack or sandwich while inside, but I'd certainly pack it. In hindsight, Id take a small backpack with umbrella, granola bars or sandwich, sunblock, bug repellent, and layers of clothes. Alternatively, you can check your bag at the gate for 5 Sol, which is what I foolishly did. Bathrooms cost 2 Sol at the gate and there are none on the site. We were in MP for about 2 1/2 hours. My group was three tourists and one guide. She spoke excellent English and answered all questions we asked her.
After MP, bus back down the hill and we were released in Aguas Calientes for about 80 minutes to grab lunch. Mind you, it's now like 2:30 and you've exercised a bit. I was lucky, I had a full hotel breakfast at 0445 and snacks I packed on the train, but I was starving by lunchtime. That's the reason I'd say take a small bite into MP with you, especially if you can't get breakfast before leaving. Train ride back was a little longer, about 3 hours and 40 minutes. We pulled into the station at 1900 and I think I was back in my hotel by 1930. So, a little over 14 hours for me, which is probably the shortest it can be. Consider that when you book your lodging. Again, excellent tour, super knowledgeable guide, foolproof transfers, and worth the extra money you pay as opposed to booking it all yourself. Id do it again in a heartbeat.
