It was an amazing experience! We saw different kind of dolphins, seals, puffins and a couple of whales!
Just, I don’t recommend it if you suffer of sea sickness
Response from Host , Aug 2022
Thank you Sara (!) and I am glad that you enjoyed your boat trip with Blasket Islands Eco Marine Tours out of Ventry harbour. Yes, we go out on the open Atlantic Ocean looking to spot whales and any passenger prone to sea sickness should take anti nausea tablets first. Good advice for a nice day on the ocean billow!

We were a few minutes late but they kindly waited for us. Really great trip out and back. Managed to see several pods of dolphins, which was the icing on the cake. Knowledgeable about the area and happy to answer questions. Worth every cent

Exciting experience

We enjoyed ourselves very much and seeing the dolphins and puffins was very exciting. The reason why I did not give full stars is that on our ticket it says bottled water and snacks are included but this is not the case!
Response from Host , Jun 2022
Thank you very much Stephan for your nice review and apologies that you did not receive water and snacks as advertised. Unfortunately, we gave up this service as a result of Covid, and also people no longer want to get water in plastic containers [plastic bottles] which are bad for the environment. However, we should have taken this off our list of services provided and apologies for not doing so. We are in the process now of taking this off our list of services provided.

Whale Trip

, Aug 2021
Did see the Whales & the Dolphins. There were supposed to be the maximum of 12 people on the boat but actually we counted over 30. Also said that there would be bottles of water & snacks which never appeared. Then there was a dog with a couple which was allowed to roam the small boat without a lead. Had I of known the amount of people on board I would not have booked.
Response from Host , Aug 2021
Dear Tracy.
Thank you for your review! I am glad that we found dolphins and whales for you on your trip!
The vessel you were on has a Dept. of Transport Passenger Certificate for 48 passengers and 3 crew and we have reduced our normal capacity by 33% to comply with new Covid-19 Health and Safety Protocols.
There is plenty of room on deck and on the flying bridge for pods to observe social distancing, without going inside where there are 20 more seats. Likewise, we have discontinued giving out complimentary snacks and drinks due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Sorry that you did not enjoy your trip with Blasket Islands Eco Marine Tours and please feel free to charter our vessel at any time if you want a trip all by yourself and without any friendly dog, to watch whales and dolphins in Dingle Bay and around the beautiful Blasket Islands.

Fantastic experience. This is the best tourist activity I've ever done. We saw dozens of dolphins and three minke whales all up close to the boat. We also saw a humpback whale who was right beside us for around 15 to 20 minutes. It was an amazing experience. The staff were lovely and knowledgeable. I realise we we're lucky to see the amount of animals we did but even if we hadn't I still think I'd have enjoyed it due to the fantastic scenery and nice people. Could t recommend it highly enough.

Wonderful day out on Dingle Bay
Cathal_R
, Aug 2020
We had a wonderful day on The Eco Blasket Tour. It was not called Dolphin and Whale Watching Tour from Dingle by the way. Our skipper and guide were fantastic and although we did not spot any whales we did see a pod of common dolphins, as well as grey seals and much more. The views of coastline and islands and the lighthouse were spectacular. Our only quibble was that the advertised snacks and beverages never materialised. Luckily we had brought our own.
Response from Host , Aug 2020
Thank you for your review Cathal. Sadly in order to comply with Covid-19 new health and safety protocols as well as reducing our passenger capacity by 50% we are unable to hand out complimentary snacks, binoculars, wildlife information brochures etc. as heretofore but glad that you enjoyed your trip with Blasket Islands Eco Marine Tours from Ventry Harbour nonetheless. Also glad that you enjoyed unique views of Tiaracht lighthouse, the most westerly in Europe.

We perform checks on reviews
You can only submit a review or rating of an experience to Viator if you were the person who made the booking through Viator. Before publication, each review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information for each of the following criteria: who, what, how, and when. If the system detects something that contradicts our publication criteria, the review is not published. When the system detects a problem with a review, it may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site. In some cases, we will also send you an email asking you to validate your review before it is published. All you need to do is click on the link provided in the email. After publication, our team checks each review reported to it as not meeting our publication criteria. Tripadvisor reviews that appear on the Viator site are subject to the same checks and moderation processes as set out above. It is not necessary to have booked an experience through Viator (or Tripadvisor) to submit a review of an experience to the Tripadvisor site.
