Step foot inside UNESCO-listed Al Bidya Mosque
Visit Fujairah Fort and the Friday Market in Masafi
Meet your guide upon pickup from centrally located hotels for a morning departure from Dubai. Hop aboard an air-conditioned coach or four-wheel drive vehicle and see points of interest as you head out of the city toward the eastern coast of the United Arab Emirates. The route takes you into the Hajar Mountains of the eastern Arabian Peninsula, passing dramatic canyons and rocky valleys along the way. Stop at the daily Friday Market just outside Masafi and browse the stalls overflowing with wares such as fresh produce, carpets, incense burners, and pottery. Upon reaching the Gulf of Oman, make a stop at a beachside hotel to purchase lunch (own expense). You’ll have time for a swim before the journey continues through Al Aqah in Fujairah. Stop for photo ops at the 15th-century Al Bidya Mosque, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the UAE’s most historic mosque. See remains of Portuguese watchtowers by climbing up a nearby hillside with sweeping views of the mountainous surroundings and the gulf. Further along the coastal road, you’ll reach Fujairah Fort, overlooking Fujairah Emirate and a date palm oasis. Thought to be one of the oldest in the UAE, the fort appears to change colors depending on the position of the sun. The return journey to Dubai takes you more rugged landscapes, ending with drop-off at your hotel.

This was a lovely day out, and a great way to get away from the glitz of Dubai. You get to see some of the historical sites, and learn more of the past. Our guide Alex was very good.I enjoyed the beach
Not enough tome at the Friday market. Boarder of Oman not explained. More commentary needed. Could have experienced more of the UAE. What we saw was interesting. Thought there would be a desert sunset as mentioned by guide.
I was travelling through Dubai and only had one spare day. This was the perfect way to spend it. I was picked up from my hotel on time and we rode in an air conditioned van. Our guide Mahmoud was knowledgeable and friendly. The sights were were interesting and gave us a picture of the real UAE away from the glamour of Dubai. A fun day and well worth the cost. The only thing I would warn about is that in August, when I took the tour, it was very, very hot. Be prepared to be outside and to walk a good bit n the heat. But we were given plenty of ice cold water to drink. I really enjoyed this tour.
