a great leisurely trip.
The transfer from Dubai to Al Khasab takes about 3 hours. Then you participate in a 6 hour show cruise around a fjord in the Munsandam peninsula, have to opportunity to swim and snorkle twice the water is very transparent and there's an abundance of fish, drink some coffee/tea, eat a tasty lunch and in general relax.
You never know how good a vendor is till there is a problem mostly our fault but they were great to work with and it was a wonderful experience. This is a must do trip !
Incredible! Loads of dolphin and bait balls, great coral life and awesome food. The team were so welcoming and informative. Highly recommend!
Great excursion, prompt pick up in quality vehicle. Our guide Mr Hamada was very polite and stayed with us for the duration of the excursion, he ensured we had access to quality facilities toilets/shop The trip was a full day taking into account the 2 hour vehicle transfer each way from Dubai. The staff on the boat were informative and the buffet was good quality, I am vegetarian and there was sufficient to eat.
The cruise was superb, staff were so helpful and proud to show us the area, we saw dophins swim with the boat which was an amazing experience and the scenery was absolutely stunning. I would have no hesitation in recommending the cruise itself but you do need to be aware of the transfer time involved. We were staying in Dubai Marina, we picked up two other couples and the drive was 4 1/2 hours each way - none of us had any idea it would take to long and you do need to take this into consideration.
My husband and I spent a week in Dubai, and we both agree that this tour was our favorite activity of our entire trip. Everything about the experience on the boat was perfect. The landscapes are truly magnificent to the extent that photos just do not do them justice. The boat appeared to be quite modern, with beautiful woodwork it was clean and comfortable, with both ample shade and sun depending on your preference. The staff and guide on the boat were extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. When you arrive, they offer tea, dates, and fresh fruit. There is unlimited water also available from coolers throughout the 5 hour cruise. The lunch was simple salad, curry, rice, chicken, but absolutely delicious. There is ample opportunity to swim during the two swimming stops, and the crew was very helpful in providing life vests and flotation rings to individuals who were not strong swimmers who still wanted to get in the water. I cannot recommend this trip enough.

We really enjoyed the tour. They left a message to reconfirm the pick up time and tour details to our hotel on the prior day of the tour, which was nice. Also, drivers and crews were very friendly and nice! We really enjoyed scenery of musandam and trip, watching dolphins and swimming in the sea! The boat had clean toilet and even showers, so you may enjoy the confirmable trip with them.
We loved this trip! The drivers were amazing! They were knowledgable, friendly and thoughtful throughout the trip. Khasab was more beautiful than I could have ever hoped for! The water was pristine! Immigration was taken care of by the driver and it was smooth and quick. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone!
What an amazing trip.Very professionally operated, and the staff were wonderful which really helped to maximise my experience.I would like to give my personal thanks to the guide Dagmar who made sure everything ran like clock work.Thankyou everyone!
We loved the first trip here so much that we came back again. Very well organised as always. Quality of staff are second to none. You will be pleasantly impressed with the Omani people and their culture, even if it is a short while.
NORFOLK ISLAND Norfolk Island
AMAZING. Highly professional. Our hotel pick up was on time it was a mini-bus and the driver gave a great commentary as we drove through the city to spotlessly clean, petrol station and mini-mart where we transferred to a bigger bus with an equally delightful driver/guide. Drive through desert to border was interesting - made more so by our guide's commentary. Border-crossing was thorough, professional and friendly. Oman was amazing. The dhow cruise was the most wonderful day. The crew consisted of our captain, our guide and an able-seaman/waiter/food and beverage organiser. The day supplied unlimited bottles of water, Pepsi which was a fresh fruit juice choice of orange or peach - also endless supply, sweet black tea, Arab espresso, apples, bananas, afternoon tea and of course LUNCH. My goodness - how I managed to swim after all I ate was a miracle. Our guide spoke five languages and had recently returned to his Oman village after 20 years of international working life. The love for country was palpable. The water, the landscape, the DOLPHINS, the fun - all amazing. This was our last day in Dubai and was the best way to finish our first and all too short 4-day visit. We don't have a single negative of this trip. We did our homework, knew what to expect and then got more and better than expected. Musandam travel - thank you so much. PS - everyone else, can't recommend enough!
Beautiful scenery along with a great opportunity to experience another country. A must-do for everyone visiting Dubai.
One of the most spectacular places I've ever visited in my life! Nature at its best - incredible scenario! We got the chance to swim on breathtaking location unspoiled by today's modern amenities. Mustafa, the driver who took us to Oman was very knowledgeable and turned a somewhat long ride, into a very interesting one. Make sure you don't fall asleep on the way, particularly on the Omani side of the border, so you can see the breathtaking Fjords from above. This is very much an outdoor treat, so if you are expecting luxury amenities, etc this may not be for you. The food was very good and the crew on the dhow very nice and knowledgeable. I highly recommend.
The actual Musandam Khasab boat part of the trip was excellent! What an amazing experience! The scenery was interesting, the guide was informative, food and service was perfect, snorkelling was so much fun, the boat set up was amazing and the overall experience was superb. I would have given this trip 5 stars if it wasn't for the four hours it took to arrive at the boat. We were told it was 2 hours each way but it was definitely 4 hours which made it quite a long day! If we had known before hand, we would have been prepared for the four hours in a small van!
Friendly staff on the boat and transfer, great food - fantastic to see dolphins up so close, and feeding the fish while swimming.
Crossing the UAE/Oman border took longer than I expected and the transfer from Downtown Dubai to Musandam took longer than expected.
Would recommend but it is a long day.
The trip itself, once we made it there, was definitely great. However, getting there was quite an ordeal. The driver picked us up on time and made it to the UAE/Oman border in a reasonable amount of time, but it took over two hours to make it across the border. This possibly had something to do with some of the other travelers in the group, but the driver never let us know what the issue was. The trip is also advertised as a 9 hour trip, but we were picked up from our hotel at 0625 and did not return until 2115 that night, so it was a few minutes shy of being a 15 hour trip. I still would do it again because it was a once in a lifetime experience. However, the time length needs to be changed to a more accurate number. I can not see how anyone could legally drive that far that fast and return along with crossing the border and taking a 6 hour boat ride in 9 hours, it's impossible. The crew of the boat were fantastic and them along with the experience of being there made up for the border and time issue, but the time definitely should be changed to a minimum of 11 hours to better reflect the reality of the border crossing and awful Dubai traffic.
This was a fascinating trip. Extremely scenic. Tour Guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. Crew was most helpful.
Would suggest that the cruise be shortened by about one hour as it gets rather chilly towards the evening. Two stops for swimming and snorkeling were not necessary. One stop of 45 minutes would have been more than enough. The participants should have been advised in advance to bring along very warm clothing as it gets terribly chilly towards the end of the cruise.
The drive from the Oman border to Khasab on the mountain road was just as exciting as the cruise itself.
This was a great tour. Nice to get away from the hustle bustle of the Dubai city. It does take some time leaving UAE and getting into Oman and back, so patience is required. The swimming was nice as it is really hot there. Lunch was great. The driving in Oman was a little scary.
P.S. The drive wasn't dreadful. The only dreadful part was that we were riding with some obnoxious Germans who were really rude which isn't a reflection of the tour itself. Even the women were flaunting their fat around in bikinis in a very conservative country. It was inappropriate and disgusting.
WE really enjoyed the boat ride, the staff on the boat were great and was very pretty and tranquil. Didn't realize most of the other people on the tour would only speak German, so there was a lot of translating happening as we were the only Americans. Also didn't realize that it was a 3.5 hour Journey just to get the the Boat from our hotel. So spent a total of 7 hours in the car, If this was made clear to us in the beginning not sure we would have booked.
I was a bit disappointed with this package deal for a couple of reasons. Although the transport that took to the destination port in Oman was good and comfortable, we were told the road trip was going to be 2.5 hours each way from/to Dubai. This was not true as it took 4 hours each way. The boat was good and comfortable, there was enough space for everyone, however, with the amount of money we've paid, the food could have been of a better quality and quantity. One more thing I was very disappointed with is that over the 5.5 hours of boat trip, we were allowed to swim twice for 1/2 hour each time at two locations which were not great. The one place that was good for snorkeling Telegraph island we were told we could not stop as the boat was too big and there was a risk of damaging the corals. Overall the staff was friendly and professional, however, they could have been a bit more honest with the times and activities to allow guests to make their informal decision about the trip. My suggestion if you decide to go for it, choose to stay overnight to make it worth the 8 hours drive from Dubai.
