After hotel pickup from Dubai, travel with your guide by private, air-conditioned vehicle to the bird sanctuary just outside the city.
Your destination is one of the area’s best-managed arid wetland zones, complete with a large lagoon, mangroves, and mudflats that make it a prime location for enjoying the wonderful bird watching opportunities in Dubai. The emirate is one of the world’s most rewarding birding regions, especially between October and May every year, when thousands of birds make it a transit point on their annual migratory routes.
On arrival at the sanctuary, make your way to the bird reserves and settle in the hides for your birding session. The wetland areas around you, and their untouched natural composition, are magnets for thousands of water birds, and other species, as well as home to more than 500 types of flora and fauna.
Enjoy ample time to view the birds, including the sanctuary’s flocks of flamingos. Watch the armies of these pink birds, and look, too, for grey herons, great egrets, cormorants, sandpipers, and more. Other species sometimes seen here include osprey, ringed plovers, kingfishers, marsh harriers, and snipe. With luck, you might also see a great spotted eagle or an Eastern imperial eagle.
When your bird watching session is up, return to your vehicle and finish your trip with a hotel drop-off.
