Dublin Highlights Tour

Head to Trinity College in Dublin to meet your guide. The home of the Book of Kells, the eminent university building has more than 400 years of history. Learn all about it as you explore the exterior grounds, and then head to St. Patrick’s Cathedral to see where St. Patrick carried out the country’s earliest Christian baptisms. Entrance fees are at your own expense.

Continue to Christ Church Cathedral and Temple Bar, with tales of Dublin’s Viking and medieval history ringing in your ears. Pose for photos by the statue of Molly Malone, and then visit the Georgian Powerscourt Townhouse Centre, followed by one of Europe’s earliest shopping arcades, which dates to Victorian times.

In the latter part of your tour, you’ll visit Dublin Castle from outside. Built Viking land, the 13th-century fortress served as a military defense, jailhouse, treasury, and a law court, before a 700-year stint as the seat of English administration in Ireland. Hear how the castle was rebuilt several times over the centuries, as you stroll around the gardens and take in the main points of interest. The Record and Octagonal towers, and the State Yards are just a few of the highlights.

Hear tales about the disappearing Irish Crown Jewels and an intriguing Gothic count, then bid your guide goodbye. Your tour ends in a central location, near public transport.
