Fantastic great hiking - terrain, views etc - Guide Owen very friendly with facts and great anecdotes
It's a long walk and I had the chance to share with the other people who took the tour.
John, our tour guide, was outstanding!!! He had tons of details, facts and stories to share with us. It was a great experience. I would take another tour with John anytime!
Great guided tour of the Howth cliffs! John was our guide and he was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend having a good meal prior to going and packing a snack also water for the hike as it takes a little while to get to the Summit where you have lunch not included in price at the Summit Pub. It's not a hard hike but a hike nevertheless, the hike down was more challenging as you are going through the forest, rocks, and downhill. Lots of time for taking pictures too. And you do get time to explore Howth after as your train ticket is good for that day.
Excellent guide and tour content. Description of tour does not do it justice! From the train journey, meeting fellow walkers from all over the world, to the walk itself with breathtaking scenery peppered with charming and funny anecdotes, it was a great day out! Left to wander Howth at end was an added bonus with the harbour and restaurants to explore. Much needed after a very frenetic Dublin!
Howth is a really small village, with a nice food market where to grab something to eat after the walk.
You will ascend the clifs and walk across the forest. Look out for some leprechauns!
Clara, our guide was really nice and helpful explaining not only historical facts but actuals.
If you enjoy an easy walk 10km o so this is your tour.
This was a great tour. John our guide was a walking History Book. So much information and a beautiful hike
Take this tour! It's a hike, so wear sneakers and prepare to walk a couple of miles. John my tour guide was so fun and knowledgeable about the history of the area. He kept a great pace and hung out with us during lunch too. Charge your camera and maybe bring a bottle of water.
Fantastic tour lead by John from New Dublin company
I was looking for a tour close to Dublin that involved lots of walking/hiking and the Howth Day trip is exactly what I wanted! 20 min. by train from Dublin and 3-4 hours of walking, surrounded by splendid views- what else can one want? But our guide, John Caffrey, made the tour even better! His easy going nature, encyclopedic knowledge of Irish history and culture made this day truly memorable. To make it even better, John chose a great local pub for lunch and had reserved a table for our group. Thank you, John and New Dublin company, for helping create a memory of a lifetime!
Our Howth Day trip from Dublin was EXCELLENT!!! There is quite a bit of walking involved, but it is well work it. The views are spectacular, and John our guide was extremely informative.
I think this tour highlights one the most scenic places I've ever visited in my life. W-O-R-T-H!
Our guide John was fabulous! Very knowledgable and answered any questions we had. Howth is a beautiful place! I highly recommend this trip but be prepared to hike all day. Can and #39;t wait to go back. Thanks John!
This was a great half day trip. The cliff walk was beautiful and our guide Eoin was fantastic and I highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to get out of Dublin and see a bit of the countryside and coast!

Absolutely brilliant trip for such a bargain price! Ciaran our tour guide was very informative and made the trip well worth it :-
Great walking tour, our guide Sergio made the day worthwhile.
Awesome trip! Tour guide extremely knowledgeable and entertaining! You haven't seen Ireland like this! Better be somewhat in shape! Walked for 6hrs with nice lunch break at summit! If in Ireland do this!!!!!
Great tour! The guide was entertaining and knowledgeable. While I loved the walking, please be warned that there is about 8 miles of walking, but it is through gorgeous land to pretty sights. Easy walking, but come with comfortable shoes.
Howth day tour is about 6 hours. You get there by train and the whole tour is about 15 Km between walking and hiking. This tour needs a lot of physical effort and it can be exhausting. You start with Howth Castle, see Aideens Grave and listen to some storytelling from James our tour guide. Then start climbing through the somewhat narrow path to top of the hill and enjoy an amazing view. Next you head to the Summit Inn for lunch for about 1 hour. Once done you go through the path near the cliffs down towards the port while admiring amazing views and last see some seals if you are lucky. The trip is excellent if you like hiking and admire great scenery.
Amazing!!! The scenery from the cliffs was magnificent and our guide James was fantastic. This trip is a must for anyone that visits Ireland!
Excellent day trip tour from Dublin to the coast. Our guide Brian was very good and I highly recommend this tour. Only downside was the process of purchasing the confirming the trip on Viator.
