We were glad we paid the extra money for the Connoisseurs Experience. Well worth it. The groups for this are small.....no more than about 14-16. The young man who guided us through this was very knowledgeable and he made it fun! Go for it.....you won Be disappointed.
This was one of the best experiences if you enjoy beer. Stewart was very knowledgeable and fun. The venue is in a small lovely pub within the Guinness factory. All the tastes were half pints, very generous, and at the end you poured your own pint. You could even attempt to make a shamrock in the foam. Well worth the cost and time.
What a great way to spend a few hours. Beautiful private bar for sampling the Guinness range with knowledgeable host. Only 4 people on tour so nice and relaxed. Then had another pint in impressive, if crowded, Gravity Bar. Fantastic views from 7th floor. There is a fair amount of alcohol drunk so beware : Had a great lunch at 1837 and then spent another hour looking around Storehouse and buying some gifts
The Connoisseur Tour was amazing! We did it on New Years Eve. It was private and exclusive. I think there were 16 of us total. We skipped all of the lines and were treated in a priority manner. Our bar guide was amazing and we were able to try several types of Guinness. I think in all, we calculated we drank 4-5 pints of Guinness. There was mention of a gift in the description, and other reviews stated they received a bottle of Guinness to take with them, but other than a certificate, we did not receive any other gift or take away.
This was a great and fun experience. We were all seated around a oblong bar, the Connoisseur standing mostly in the middle with draught taps on either side, and we sampled 4 different types of Guinness before pouring our own pint behind the bar. We then received a certificate to commemorate our crafting of the Perfect Pint of Guinness, and proceeded upstairs to the panoramic Gravity bar. The bar was quite full of people, and was a bit loud, so be aware that you may end up scrunched against other people - but if you do not have anxiety about groups of people, the bar is quite enjoyable and the view over the city is great with text on the windows telling you what you are looking at.
A great tour to take. Lots of tasting of Guiness and it made me a fan of the beer. The tour host was extremely knowledgeable and this tour is definitely worth the money. No waiting and a small private affair.
This tour was amazing! Provides great history and information on Guinness and the taster of different types of guinness were delicious! The private bar was really nice. Colm the Connoisseur was so friendly and made the experience very enjoyable.
The Guinness Store House was very interesting and adding the connoisseur tasting was a great way to end our visit, Not only did we learn more about the craft of making beer and ale, we were able to taste beers we never would have considered.
This was an absolute Charlie and the Chocolate Factory kind of tour. Sooooo fun and so memorable. We got to learn how to pour our own perfect pint and the gravity bar was gorgeous.
The best and only way to see the Guinness Storehouse. Really cool, exclusive private bar and lots of history and commentary to make your visit better than the rest. Be sure to come early ahead of your visit to allow time to see all the exhibits. Extremely generous volume of samples and tasting and beautiful skybar.
We are not Guiness drinkers but you can't go to Dublin without tasting this beer. It was so much fun to do this. You get to taste 4 different types of Guiness then pour your own pint in a very intimate setting away from the crowd. The bartender Danny was great. You learn the science and history behind the brew, and meet some great people.
I love beer but have never liked Guinness. I booked this tour to try to change my opinion. It did not. The tour was great, still don't like Guinness but I got to taste Guinness Foreign Extra, now that is a beer I could love. We go a free beer to take with us, also learned to pour a Guinness and learned a lot of history about the company. It was a nice experience, also this helped me avoid the tons of people visiting who didn't opt for this experience.
HIGHLY recommend the Connoisseur tour...anyone who enjoys Guinness will love the private pouring and history lessons!
Awesome experience, would definitely recommend to any beer lover. The best way to experience the Guinness storehouse.

Our bartender for this tour was named Danny and he was very knowledgeable about the past of Guinness. Which I would hope so since he works there but he did a fantastic job serving and teaching us how the pour the beer and about the different types of Guinness that our brewed throughout the world. You get about Four or Five pints of beer in total with this tour and even he to try and pour one yourself. Im sure most people go to the Guinness Factory while in Dublin Ireland, however if you go I would recommend doing this tour. At most they have about 20 people in this room at one time. Its pretty quiet in the bar room however bring a jacket because they do keep it fairly cold inside. Our group was a good group to very fun and social so made it even better. I would recommend this tour to anyone and would pay to do this again if I ever make it back to Dublin.
This was just a great deal of fun and a fantastic way to experience Guiness. The group was small and you were in a small bar like environment with your own instructional bartender. You got to taste 6 different beers made by Guiness, and ones we cold not get in USA. He explained the history of Guiness well and their approach to making beer. We even got to learn to pour, and then drink, our own Guiness properly. It was worth the money to do it this way.
This was a super experience! Our host was very knowledgeable and his presentation was great! We suggest booking early in the afternoon so you have time to enjoy the storehouse? We booked the 4:00 tasting and didn't have enough time to tour the other areas. We could have spent more time enjoying all there was to see and do there. Great time! The 'skip the line' feature was a true bonus!
I was not a Guinness fan but am now! our small group tasting was fun, informative and made me a believer!
Awesome! If your going to the brewery, you should do this. Very informative and delicious! Our host Hannah was great!
Well worth the extra cost above the basic tour. Small group of 16 meet in a private pub within the storehouse for a tasting and demonstration of all things Guinness by our fun and informative host Colm. We tasted 5 different types of Guinness and each got a lesson in the proper pouring technique while we poured our own pint from the tap. Highly recommend for all lovers of Guinness!
Everyone should do this!! No waiting in line, sitting comfortably during a tasting with only 12 people. Our guide for the tasting, Stewart, was charming, funny and gave us a great history lesson.
