What You Can Expect

6-Night Independent Tour of Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast: Dubrovnik, Hvar, Korcula and Split

7-Day Croatia Tour: Split

Get picked up at the airport in Dubrovnik in a shared minivan and head to your hotel. Or, if you're already in town, choose a hotel-to-hotel transfer. After the tour has commenced, shared transfers to all ports are included. Not much of a tour group-type of traveler? No problem. Then upgrade the tour so you can only travel with your party.

The tour includes accommodation in Dubrovnik, Korčula, Hvar and Split. The hotels are comfortable and nicely located. There will be plenty of time to explore on  your own.

Day 1: Dubrovnik
On arrival in Dubrovnik, check in to your hotel and then relax at leisure. Discover the city's pretty pebble beaches or people watch in the beautiful Old Port.

Overnight: Hotel Aquarius, Hotel Ivka or Hotel Lero in Dubrovnik or similar

Day 2: Dubrovnik Old Town (B)
After breakfast in your hotel, meet your guide in the center of town for a leisurely paced 2-hour walking tour around Dubrovnik’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town. Starting from Pile Gate, walk along elegant Stadrun Street, soaking up its highlights. Pass Onofrio Fountain – a spectacular dome surrounded by 16 taps – and see the Franciscan monastery with its Romanesque-Gothic architecture.

Hear about the city’s history and culture from your guide as you stroll across to Sponza Palace. Easily Dubrovnik’s most stunning monument, the palace comprises a mix of Renaissance and Gothic architecture in a simple yet grand style. While meandering through the pristine streets of Old Town, your guide will point out more notable attractions like the Church of St Blaise and Rector’s Palace. Continue walking to the main square to see the 18th-century Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin, and then stroll back to the start point where your tour ends. Spend the rest of your day at leisure in the town.

Overnight: Hotel Aquarius, Hotel Ivka or Hotel Lero in Dubrovnik or similar

Day 3: Dubrovnik – Korčula (B)
Enjoy breakfast and then check out of your hotel. After a short journey by minibus and ferry, you’ll be dropped off at your Korčula hotel. Spend your day sightseeing independently around this pretty island. Perhaps stroll around the cobbled streets of Korčula Old Town – the hub of the island – and admire sites like the Venetian-inspired Town Museum or St Mark’s Cathedral.

Overnight: Hotel Liburna or Hotel Marko Polo in Korčula or similar

Day 4: Korčula – Hvar (B)
Relax over an early breakfast in your hotel, check out and then head to the port by minibus. From here, hop aboard your ferry for a 2-hour transfer across a stretch of sea to the island of Hvar. After leaving your bags at the hotel, your guide will meet you for a 2-hour walking tour around the island's largest town, also named Hvar.

Popular for its sunny climate, Renaissance architecture and friendly locals, Hvar is a delight to explore with monuments to be found around every twist and turn. Stroll past the Arsenal building that houses one of the oldest European theaters – Hvar Historical Theatre – and then see the Franciscan monastery with its elegant bell tower. Admire the 7th-century city walls and soak up the relaxed vibe around the town’s main square (Hvar Pjaca). Your tour ends in the town center – ideal if you want to continuing sightseeing independently for the rest of your day.

Overnight: Amfora Hotel or Riva Hotel in Hvar or similar

Day 5: Hvar (B)
Enjoy breakfast and then spend the rest of your day in Hvar at leisure. Perhaps relax on a beach in one of the island’s secluded coves, or maybe take a taxi boat (own expense) to the neighboring Pakleni Islands to explore.

Overnight: Amfora Hotel or Riva Hotel in Hvar or similar

Day 6: Hvar – Split (B)
After breakfast, enjoy pick you up from your hotel for the 1.5-hour ferry crossing over the Adriatic Sea to Split – the beautiful city back on Croatia’s mainland. Leave your bags and then set off to explore Split’s enormous Diocletian Palace with your guide.

The largest and oldest city on the Dalmatian Coast, Split emerged as settlement that grew around this magnificent palace complex, built by the Roman Emperor Diocletian. Your tour starts by exploring the cellars in the UNESCO-listed palace to get a glimpse at what life was like here in the Middle Ages. After exploring the massive underground maze, head back up to ground level to see Peristil Square (the ceremonial entrance court) and the Cathedral of St Domnius.

Visit the tiny Temple of Jupiter with its eye-catching frieze and sphinx sculpture from Egypt, and then continue ambling around the palace grounds, seeing other intriguing highlights like the ruins of the Golden Gate. Your tour finishes outside Diocletian Palace, and your guide will point you in the right direction for the Green Market -- the largest and liveliest open-air market on the Dalmatian Coast. Spend the rest of your day at leisure.

Overnight: Hotel Globo or Hotel President in Split or similar

Day 7: Split (B)
Enjoy breakfast, and then the morning is yours to spend at leisure in Split – perhaps shopping for souvenirs or sightseeing independently. At a pre-arranged time in the afternoon, check out of your hotel and finish your tour with a transfer to Split Airport or another Split hotel.

5 star rating: Highly Recommended July 2016

Very happy to have booked this trip through Viator- everything was even better than we anticipated. The transfers, coordinated by local tour company EuroAdria, were on time and seamless. There was always a friendly agent greeting us and helping us get to our next ferry ride or hotel. The hotels were well chosen and we were satisfied with all of them. This tour is perfect if you want to see several beautiful places in Dalmatia, but don't want to worry about how you will be traveling from one place to the next. There were 3 walking guided tours included, which were helpful in getting to know the towns and rich history of the place, but mostly free time to explore at our leisure.
We would love to return to Croatia in the future and would not hesitate to book through Viator again. Thank you for a great trip!

Excellent tour! Highly recommend. My friends and I went in mid-April and had a wonderful time. We were very pleased with the booking agent - everything was well-organized and well-planned and there were no problems to report. All of our transfers were on-time and the drivers were very pleasant. Each one of the hotels was excellent. The contact at EuroAdria tours responded to all the questions we had. Also, each of the tour guides - in Dubrovnik, Split and Hvar - was excellent. The tour includes a free day in Hvar and we went not during beach season so, instead, we booked a tour through Secret Hvar and the guide took us all around the island. It was one of the highlights of our trip. For those not as interested in going to the beach, we highly recommend the Secret Hvar Island tours and we think that it would be great if Viator offered this tour as a supplemental option for people interested in seeing more than just Hvar town. It's a beautiful island with so many interesting places to see - there's no reason not to venture out if you have the time. Our Secret Hvar tour included a trip to Stari Grad the oldest town on the island, wine-tasting, and a visit to some historical abandoned villages. My friends and I went during shoulder season and this meant that we did not have to deal with hordes of tourists but the weather was very lovely for sightseeing.

A classic overview of the Dalmatian Coast. An organized unescorted tour with excellent transfers. Unfortunately the weather was a little off on the islands, however, the townships are so interesting to wander around. Hotel within the Palace in Split would be good next time. Recommend staying a day or two extra to see Bosnia and/or Montenegro.

Dubrovnik is a fantastic location, we really loved the old town, public transport and food were excellent. Accommodation exceeded our expectations in all of the hotels, though all of the rooms were on the non view side of the hotels. The transfers were really well organised and the walking tours were enjoyable and informative. I'd recommend this tour to others.

We really liked this tour. Our local contact at EuroAdria Nora Keizer was exceptionally helpful for any last minute changes and coordination. Transfers Airport-Hotel-Train Station were on time and local guides were very knowledgeable. Hotels were generally good but the one in Hvar could surely have been better, overall.
On the whole a very positive experience and would recommend the tour. Also, recommend staying an extra day or two in Zagreb Plitvice trip. Indrajit, Mass, USA

This 6 night your with shared transfers was a well organised tour, everything went according o the itinerary, the hotels selected were all clean and convenient except for one was not nice at all. This is why we have rated it 4 stars and not given it 5 stars. All guides and drivers were polite friendly and punctual.
