While in Dubrovnik, take advantage of the great weather and the beautiful Adriatic Sea by booking this small group kayak and snorkeling excursion. Paddle along the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed site, to Betina, a cave beach. Here you can lounge on the shore or snorkel, exploring the world beneath the surface of the water. No previous kayaking or snorkeling experience is necessary. This small-group tour means you’ll get extra attention from the guide, ensuing a great experience.
This small-group tour leaves from Dubrovnik and kayaks to Betina. Never been on a kayak or snorkeled before? Have no fear. One of the perks of this tour is that the guide will go over all the proper techniques as well as safety rules. By the end of the tour, you’ll be like a pro. As you paddle along, expect the guide to regale the small group with historical anecdotes and tales of legendary figures of the city. Take a moment to drink in the views of Dubrovnik and its ancient 13th-century walls. Once you reach Betina Beach, take a breather to enjoy a beverage. Then put on your snorkeling gear for a fun adventure beneath the surface of the water, as you look at marine life.
The tour itself is ok but beware that the wind does pick up in the afternoon and makes it difficult to paddle back, especially for beginners. Try to book a morning tour if possible. Snorkeling equipment was sub par and all you get is a bottle of water. We found out that other tour companies offer cheaper options that even include food. All in all the tour is recommended but it wasn’t the best value.
My partner and I did this tour on a day that was a little overcast and rainy. We were a small group of around 10 people total. We arrived on time and were offered jackets/wetsuits to keep us warm and of course lifejackets which were mandatory. I feel that this tour was exactly as described in terms of what we did, but not the skill level. The tour guide (who was great and very friendly!) moved through things pretty quickly and we felt we had to keep up with him - which was way faster than we'd hoped. By the end of this we were absolutely exhausted and felt we didn't get to enjoy the scenery and the tour itself. The waters at some points were really choppy and it got a bit concerning being in the middle of the ocean in a tiny boat. My partner and I are mid 20's, pretty healthy and active, and we both really struggled ability wise. Other than that the tour was great!
Kayaking was a great way to see the city walls from a different perspective. Our guide Romana was fantastic and gave us some great insights into the history of Dubrovnik. The snorkeling was fun and all equiptment provided, even wet suits. It was great to be part of a small-group tour so we could hear everything the guide said and keep together. She gave us regular breaks so we didn't get too tired, having said that 3 hours was enough for the two of us!
Canceled our experience without even contacting us. It was beautiful weather and we showed up and all only to be told no tours were happening. Has been a nightmare to even get a refund as they are all pointing fingers saying they are not capable.
It was windy, so kayaking was more of a challenge but doable and fun with the stronger waves. Thankful the instructor was my partner in the double — he knew what he was doing. My group took a break by a cave and swam/snorkeled in the sea, which was beautiful and pleasant. We then kayaked to Lokrum and took a break there as well for a swim/rest prior to returning. All from the group enjoyed the experience.
This kayak tour was an excellent choice for our short visit to Dubrovnik. Our tour guide Joseph was amazing and very informative. The company worked around our tight schedule to get back to our cruise ship on time. Great customer service and I highly recommend this tour for your kayak trip!
