Our driver was great and very informative. The scenery on the drive was absolutely amazing! I enjoyed the traditional food provided, just wish we had had the opportunity for some photo breaks on the drive along the Piva river.
Our driver and guide was Vid. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. The drive is long but interesting
As you pass through Bosnia into Montenegro. The rafting was calm the day we went but the scenery
Was beautiful. There were 7 of us and we all agree without Vid who gave us so much detail and
Information and interacted with us it wouldn't been as great a day.
Amazing trip! Views were stunning, and rafting was super fun! However, we had no quide with us, only a bus driver who did not tell much about the surroundings etc. Nevertheless, this was a suberb experience! Rafting was also very safe, yet enough fun. We had a five years old local girl in our boat with her father who is a rafting guide. This tells something about how dangerous it is....
What an awesome trip. The LOOONG ride is worth the view and experience. The rafting was mild, but we had the chance to jump from some big rocks.
We truly loved this excursion. The van picked us up on time in the morning, we had a very friendly driver who was giving us briefings and explanations of the surroundings all the way, photo stops and on top of it all, a great rafting experience. The rapids are not difficult at all, yet so much fun!
I know what you're thinking... Waking up at 5:30 AM to get ready for this early-morning tour isn't probably what you want to do in Dubrovnik. Let me tell you something. It is totally worth it!!! And, you can bring your kids with you. I was in the same boat with a 7-year-old and a 9-year-old. They were just fantastic and enjoyed every single second of it with us. Here is the routine:
1. Hotel pick-up Everyone in the van was super quiet because it was so early.
2. 3 - 4 hour drive through Bosnia and Herzegovina to Montenegro multiple exit and entry border checks through three different countries Croatia, B and H and Montenegro can be time-consuming and frustrating. The scenery on the way is amazing!
3. Breakfast in the base camp Bring euros if you want to buy coffee.
4. A short ride to the beginning point the ride is on an unpaved road, so brace yourself
5. The ride 2-3 hours begins and there are about three breaks on the way. There are bars on the way. So, if you want a drink, bring euros again
6. Lunch in the base camp this lunch was amazing!!!
7. Head back home and enjoy the beautiful scenery during the return trip.
This was a really great tour. It was a bit of a long drive, but our guide Ivan made several stops to allow us to take photos at scenic areas. While these prolonged the trip by a little bit, it was worth it as the scenery along the way was fantastic. The river was pretty tame with a few fun rapids kids could do it. Its a tad cold, but you are given a wet suit. On the river, too, the scenery is fantastic. We had one stop during the rafting at a river-side bar and waterfall that happened to be on the route don't need to bring money for the bar, you can pay when you get back to the end. Bring a waterproof camera if you have one, sunblock, sunglasses, towel. And whatever you do, don't forget your passport. The water is clean enough to drink, which we all did when we got thirsty.
Great rafting trip. Driver / Guide was excellent and knowledgable of the area and history. The river guides were excellent and professional. The breakfast and lunch of local products and cuisine was very good. Be prepared for a long day and bring euros as well as Kunas. We highly recommend this trip.
This trip was fantastic, even if it was a very long day approx. 12hrs from pick up to drop off. The driver Robert was very informative through out the drive you pass through Bosnia on the way to Montenegro and was happy to stop whenever the passengers wanted to. We stopped for coffee in a small town before we arrived at the rafting where we were provided with a buffet breakfast. We were then given our equipment, including a wetsuit not mentioned when booking and driven to the starting point. Unfortunately, due to conditions on the river we were unable to do the full 17km for H and S reasons melting snow so the course was reduced to 9km only however this did not spoil the day at all. once on the river, we stopped at several places to take pictures and climb the waterfalls. we even had the opportunity to swim in some of the pools on one particular waterfall. Once we returned to the base, we enjoyed a delicious Lamb lunch before starting the drive back. One of the most amazing things was to see the difference in landscape in three different countries in one day. It may be an expensive trip but believe me, it is worth every penny.
I will be back! This trip is just terrific! We were picked up by Robert, our guide, and drove from Dubrovnik to Montenegro. Robert bought us coffee and hot chocolate drink during the stop over at Bosnia because we did not have the local currency. It was 3 hours’ drive one way and the commute was not boring at all. We had nice chat. Arrived at the water rafting site we had breakfast and then lunch afterward (ask for fish not meat-the fish is delicious), we had a wonderful experience in the river, just the right amount of exercise. We are so grateful that we have chosen to join this trip.

Absolutely amazing trip. Our tour guide was amazing and very knowledgable. The rafting was actually quite calm and at no point did I feel out of my depth, there were even small children in some of the rafts. I highly recommend this trip and you get to travel through Bosnia and Montenegro too which are very beautiful countries.
Getting up for a 6am pickup isn't normally what I go for on a holiday, but it was well worth it. Stunning scenery both on the drive and down the river. Quite relaxed, although informed the rapids are deeper earlier on in the season
I highly recommend this tour. The canyon is beautiful, the water is crystal clear and refreshing, and it was just a lot of fun. I knocked off one star only because it was class one or two rapids not the advertisement of class three and four. The driver was also excellent and great conversation to pass time during the drive.
The trip was very good. The driver/Guide looked after us very well.
Good Breakfast and a lovely lunch as well. A long drive from Dubrovnik but the scenery was fantastic.
Really fun trip. Great for beginners, it's not super difficult so experienced white water rafters shouldn't really bother rapids aren't much above a Class 2. The car ride to the river takes almost 5 hours so plan for that! I would definitely recommend this to travelers in Dubrovnik who want to get out of the city for a full day.
Loved this tour! Had an enjoyable trip down the river and although it wasn't fast flowing in July it was a great experience. The tour guide, Ivana, was lovely and so was the driver! It's a long day with most of it spent travelling to the site but definitely worth it.
An amazing experience! Fantastic setting of the Tara River, great instructors, equipment all provided, and great food ! Shame the bus journey was so long, but well worth the experience.
Great company and a great tour guide. Rafting was quite good, although we heard the word dangerous and felt quite safe the entire time. The thrill seeker in me wanted a bit more excitement, but overall a very good trip.
What a beautiful and well-run trip! The canyon is gorgeous and the two stops along the way let us experience the trip in greater detail. The breakfast and lunch were delicious and fun. (I won't spoil the surprise of the "welcome back" tray!). We had a very personable and interesting guide on our raft. The only downside was the hour-plus-long wait for a bus-load of people to arrive to complete our 5-raft outing. Perhaps that couldn't be avoided, but it would have been nice to be kept informed of the wait time while we were waiting. The camp owner and our driver were highlights of the trip!
Wow what an experience:0 My friend and I are just back from our hol to Croatia. We took this day trip to Montenegro on the 01/10/13. The tour guide explained that over the last couple of days the heavy rain had made the waters murky with sediment so it wasn't the emerald green on the pic. The weather is quite cold there so go prepared with a fleece and change of clothes. I was told that the rapids were a grade 3 for this day and to experience grade 4 to go in April when it is at its best. However, I honestly can say if it is your first time do not go in April! I have only done whitewater rafting in wales at a low grade and the first bit of this rafting had me trembling! I was advised after the first break that it was the worst bit and gets easier. From that point on there was a few adrenalin moments but all in all I breathed looked up and enjoyed it. We made a few stops to take a breather and stopped off at a refreshing waterfall on completion of the rafting we ended up at part of the river that merges and there was the beautiful emerald waters. The food prepared was lovely and basic (meat and veg) with a good warm broth for starters. If you would like an additional beverage take some euro's with you although you do get a shot of the local spirit to wake you up if the rafting hasn't;) There are showers and changing rooms and you are given wetsuits, shoes, life jacket and helmet so don't worry. The guide on our boat had been rafting for some 28 years an d reminded me of 'Cool hand Luke' pretty chilled. Go and enjoy its beautiful scenery and have fun!

The white water rafting was definitely worth doing but we were not aware that it was a 4-5 hour van ride each way from Dubrovnik. Being stuck in an uncomfortable van for that long was not pleasant. The food was good as were the amenities and equipment. The rafting guide was fun.
The journey was over 5 hours and the mini bus driver keep stopping which added to the length. It would be better if they had two drivers. White water rafting was very tame and not worth the drive. The scenery was however amazing! Did not get breakfast till 1130 and then lunch at 4pm.
The drive is really long, the tour guide on the bus however was brilliant! Once you finally get to the camp for breakfast 4 hours later you are met by nobody who speaks English serving a very suspect breakfast. You then get in another car to be taken down to the start of the rafting, where it is a complete free for all with around 100 people randomly jumping into rafts with no leadership or coordination what so ever. The leader of our raft sat in silence, only saying 'row' or 'stop' every now and again, the raft was literally silent until somebody broke the tension. Some advice on how to raft or information on the gorge would have been brilliant.
Also, it is a lazy river, how this can be passed as white water rafting is beyond me. You get splashed maybe once or twice but if you're looking for an adrenaline rush, don't go. It is all very strange. The fish afterwards was nice, the meat was horrendous.
Would not recommend at all and what you seem to be paying for is the 8 hour round trip.
