Great guide and driver. Definitely made the trip fun. I highly recommend.
Fantastic tour. Tour guide 5 star. A little disappointed we only had 2 hours in split and looked at description of tour when got back to our hotel and it should have been longer so if you planning on going just be aware.
Day trip to Split 23/08/2016.
Split was a vibrant and touristic harbor town. The Diocletians Palace was a must thing to see!
I wasnt in my best condition that day but thanks to the driver and the guide from Dubrovnik I apologize for not remembering their names who were very accommodating and hospitable that made the whole trip very enjoyable.
Split is just so lovely - feels much more like a modern city than Dubrovnik does. Diocletian's Palace is very interesting and houses so many hip restaurants and stores as well. You really get a taste of the rest of Croatia outside of the mainly tourism-driven Dubrovnik namely the Croatian obsession with their football teams!. The prices were a bit cheaper than Dubrovnik, I'm guessing from the fewer tourists that go! The old town of Split is full of alleyways but has a completely different feel than Dubrovnik. If you can, you should try to go to the Plitvice Lakes from Split, we hear it's an unforgettable experience. Our driver Mario was very interesting as well, giving a background on the numerous towns we passed by on our 4 hour drive. Oliver was our city guide and he was very knowledgeable about all the landmarks within the walls. He also does an excellent Game of Thrones tour. Also, do eat outside the city walls near the Marjan region past the church! We had an excellent lunch there. Overall, this was one of our best experiences on our trip and we advise everyone to not miss the day trip to Split.
It was fantastic that there were only 4 including driver on this trip. Being able to stop when we wanted or needed to was great. Antonio, our driver, was terrific - personable, engaging and a pleasure to spend most of the day with.
An excellent day out - beautiful views on the drive there, a very knowledgable guide for the tour, and boris our driver was really friendly and entertained us too! Absolutely worth the price.
Ivan was a fantastic driver/guide. Very friendly and informative. So glad I took the time to visit Split.
Other than the palace, there is not much to see. We did enjoy the marina and lunch. It was a long bus ride from Dubrovnik.
A long way for a relatively short period of time, but a lovely place to visit, have lunch and see the unique Roman remains still lived in to this day. Views from the cathedral bell tower were great. Our driver, Robert, was excellent - his spoken English was great and he explained lots about the history of Croatia and life there today as we went along.
The trip there was good the driver talked to us because we were in the front with him didn't know you needed passports for this one would have been good to be told not our cup of tea but very popular place
Recommend it highly. Small group was fun, van was comfortable and the driver Mario was awesome.
Long drive but worth it. I think that Split is worth more than a day...
Interesting seeing the ancient roman palace and learning about the history of this beautiful city.
Interesting city full of history and the driver was very knowledgeable. The Tour Guide in the city itself made the tour feel abit rushed but we had plenty of free time afterwards to explore the place for ourselves.
I don't recommend coming into Split from Dubrovnik as the ride was too long. The coastal scenery was great to see for the first hour of the ride but after 2 hours of constant twist and turns on the road, I was ready to throw up. Split was great for the 3 hours we were there but you need to spend more time exploring this city and not sitting on a car for a total of 6 hour-drive. However, our driver was awesome, we had stopover for a brief cafe break along the way. Our tour guide at Split recommended a good local place for lunch at Split and we had fun sampling food in the wet market nearby the Diocletian palace.
The driver seemed unconcerned about tourists on board and the guide said nothing on the journey. The local guide, however, is very knowledgeable and professional.
It didn't happen. Both Viator and the local operator did not want to know. Monarch airline failed early 2nd October 2017, as a result I had to rebook flights. The earliest I could get was 3rd October 2017. I contacted viator and the local operator on 2nd October and they kept referring me to one another. As a result of which someone pocketed my 150 which I wanted to transfer to other trips.
I suggest you book with with other operators.
