Embark on a day of wildlife sightings and Zulu culture with a mini safari tour from Durban. Start at the Natal Lion Park for an incredible up-close view of lions and other animals such as elephants, leopards and wildebeests. Then continue to the region's Bird of Prey Sanctuary, where you'll see resident raptors such as vultures, eagles and owls. Follow this with a trip to the nearby Tala Game Reserve and afterward, the Phezulu Cultural Village and Reptile Park. Here, enjoy an immersive Zulu cultural experience complete with a traditional dance performance.
We had just one free day in Durban, so decided to do the Mini Safari Tour. It was well worth the money - our guide Christo was friendly and knowledgeable, and went out of his way to make our day a success. He even lent his jacket to my friend when the weather turned cold! The lion park was a highlight, and we were glad we had Christo driving us rather than trying to do it ourselves - he knew exactly when to stop and let the lions get close to the car, and when it was time to move away. The same was true of our elephant encounter, which was just magical. We also saw zebras, hippos, impalas, giraffes, monkeys... The Zulu village was interesting too, as was the bird sanctuary. I'd highly recommend this tour!
My trip was amazing. I booked through trip advisor last minute. They gave me everything I needed-- a nice tour, comfort, courtesy and a few laughs along the way. I would do it again!
