Embark on an immersive day trip to the tiny country of Lesotho. Set out from Durban in a 4x4 vehicle in order to cross Africa's highest pass―9,435-foot-high (2876m) Sani Pass―and into this intriguing landlocked kingdom. Once inside, pay a visit to a Sotho village to experience how locals live. Interact with villagers, sample borotho bread inside a traditional hut and even purchase crafts as souvenirs. Afterward enjoy lunch at Sani Mountain Lodge, Africa's highest pub.
If you don't want to visit Lesotho on it's own, it's a great way to say you've been to Lesotho. The driver from Durban to Underberg was very professional. In Underberg you join another tour group nonetheless I paid the single supplement for the tour to actually happen. You'll only spend about 1-2 hours in Lesotho and then you'll be on your way back again. All in all, it's a lot of driving.
