Brilliant with Rose
Tamara_F, Aug 2022
If you do your research and have realistic expectations and understand its a long 3 days, you couldn't give anything but a 5* review with Rose as your guide. What an extraordinary human who is doing something she is passionate about and wanting to share her knowledge with visitors. The history she knows is second to none as a qualified story teller, this company is lucky to employ her and we were blessed to have her as our guide. Went out of her way constantly to make sure we had the best experience ever. Would def book another tour and be a 100% bonus if Rose was the tour guide. Thankyou lovely lady for a wonderful 3 days! I learnt way more than I ever imagined. ❤️

The trip was great, the scenery was beautiful, and Jim was an excellent driver and an outstanding tour guide.
Great tour, great guides!
Jennifer_W, Jul 2022
This was a great tour! After a lot of research, I specifically chose this tour becuase it went to a few places others didn't, such as the Glenfinnan viaduct Culloden Battlefield, and the Highland Folk Museum. I feel like I got to see so much of the highlands in a short amount of time! Our guide Steve incorporated music into the bus ride and shared a lot of history as we drove to keep it interesting. He found short walks for us each day, so we could stretch our legs and see beautiful waterfalls and other sites that were a bit off the beaten path. His recommendations for food at the lunch spots were also excellent!
Wonderful 3 day Isle of Skye tour
MunovarBegum_G, Jul 2022
We had a most awesome time on this tour. Rose was our tour guide, she was knowledgeable, gave us good history of Scotland and folklore. she brought the whole highlands experience to life with lovely stories of mythical creatures and actual tragic events. The countryside and stops we did were incredibly beautiful. Thank you to Rose for making the trip memorable.
memorable, beautiful scenery

Great experience, Rose is an amazing story teller/historian and entertainer. 3 days was the perfect length
Not worth
shreeram_s, Jul 2022
Scott , our guide very cheerful person, first 2 days were good but could have given more time at some nice places, third day is nothing much- waste of time, they could have done this trip in 2 days, very loud music all the time- really disturbing
Enjoyed every minute of the tour!

Highly recommend this tour. Our driver/guide and also amazing DJ Brian was excellent. He was fun and energetic. Great storyteller! Plenty of time to see the sights (and also bathroom breaks along the way!). Our group had a great time! Will surely book another tour with Hairy Coo next time I visit Scotland!
Scotland trip must be on everyone’s travels

Best guides make the best trips. Brian Smith was our guide with Hairy Coo . I have met many guides but not with the talent that Brian presented. He made a team out of our group. We got to know each other and we sang songs together.

Beauty and wildness of the Isle of Skye. Learning about the history and lore of the Highlands. Picturesque small towns.
Good have been better
IndradwipDhar, Jun 2022
Only pointing the cons of the trip 1. On Day 1, the bus air conditioning was not working and it was hot and humid that day at 22 degrees celcius. 2. On Day 2, we were asked to assemble at the starting point by 07:45am and none of the travellers could do their breakfast as there was no time for it. For the next 2 hours there was no loo breaks or breakfast points. 3. Tour guide, Jim was very insensitive towards the travellers in general and was busy narrating historical stories when no one was interested to listen. He didn't guide us properly and wasn't planned and organized. 4. On Day 3, the microphone in the bus stopped working and Tour Guide catered to people sitting at the front. 5. Tour guide really did not bother about senior citizens, about the needs of travellers like food breaks, loo breaks, etc.

Misleading information
Lillemor_S, Jun 2022
If you want an adventure according to the description than this adventure is not for you. The company have misleading information. The tour does NOT include a Whiskey tour, it includes a stop at where you can buy whiskey (!). When I asked about this, the guide blamed it on Viator and that they have wrong information. When I looked at The Hairy Coo website it states the same - it should include a whiskey tour. They also skipped other things, which was not as important to me, but might be for you. Finally it was very, very boring having to wait for some of the other people on the tour who bee never on time. Sometimes 5-10 minutes and sometimes 30 minutes. Some of the time it was due the tour guide talking to some of the the guests, while others were sitting on the bus waiting. Yes, most of the tour was really good, but that is because Scotland is amazing!
A tiring but very interesting tour

Beautiful landscapes and so much history. Our driver and guide, Jim was so engaged and a fantastic storyteller. However, There were some technical challenges ; too cold or too hot in the bus and the microphone only working periodically .,

We had a fantastic driver-guide.Jim was just unbelievable. So interesting and erudite, helpful, full of resources, generous of his time and knowledge, and flexible He had to adapt to so many problems due to the bus. He made our trip so exciting and fun. Thank you Jim.
We will only book Hairy Coo bus tours going forward.

Brian Smith was the best tour guide ever. We had a great experience the entire time. Brian had us laughing and actively listening to his stories. My entire family go to know Brian and he made us feel really welcome. I am glad he was behind the wheel on those tiny roads because she is an excellent drive. Your was incredible thanks to his passion for Scotland and big personality. Would recommend 10/10.

It was the best experience that I have had. The trip was gorgeous as the Scotland. The Hairy Coo with Brian as a guide was the best choice. Our trip would have never been so amazing without Hairy Coo and Brian. Brian was funny and knowledgeable. I loved his stories. I recommend it. I want to it again.

A must-do tour for everyone visiting Scotland
Nitish_P, Jun 2022
This trip is a must for everyone visiting Scotland. Not so much for the sights, but more for the driver-guide. Don't get me wrong, the sights are phenomenal. Places like you have never seen before in your life, but somehow they're elevated further by the guide. We were lucky enough to have John(The only King in the North) with us. He is an absolute blast. Extremely witty, with a morbid sense of humour and will have you laughing throughout. I haven't seen someone so passionate about what they do for a very long time and he's been doing this for 7 long years. He clearly loves every minute of it, and because of him you do too. His knowledge of the place is great and his extra stops or as he calls them 'Johnny bonus' that he manages to squeeze in that aren't a part of the itinerary just make your experience amazing. He loves Scotland and you can see that. I cannot recommend The Hairy Coo enough to whoever is reading this. You will have your money's worth for sure. I'm sure the other guides are just as amazing but I hope you get John. I'll end this with one of his quotes that he cracked while showing us the Forth Bridge along with the other 2 bridges over the same river which were built in different centuries, in Edinburgh - "Here in Scotland, we don't build walls. We build bridges."

Breathtaking tour of the Scottish Highlands!
Sana_O, May 2022
Highly, highly recommend this tour! It was the highlight of our UK trip. The tour-guide, John, was fantastic - he demonstrated excellent showmanship. I have done guided tours in other countries and I would have to say this one was the best! John had a great sense of humour and kept everyone entertained throughout the entire trip. He gave us so much info on Scottish history, legends, and folklore. I was really impressed by his extensive knowledge and how he could rhyme of so many statistics and stories without skipping a beat! The choice of music leading up to stops was also really well-thought-out. All of the selected tour stops were scenic and amazing. Great trip if you love scenery, mountains and visiting remote areas of preserved natural beauty! If you get motion sickness easily, I would not recommend this trip for you. Some of the small roads are very hilly and mountainous. I also liked how the group was small (20-25 people). The tour guide helped us see so much of Scotland in a short amount of time. Overall, I highly, highly recommend this trip. I learned so much about Scotland and fell in love with this beautiful country. Thank you!

Legendary trip with legendary guide
PengYan_O, May 2022
Isle of Skye is definitely the highlight of the trip but I would say our guide has played an integral part in making the trip a legendary one. Thumbs up to Brian for being super entertaining and energetic throughout the trip and giving good recommendations on local stuff like food. Worth every penny.

Best part of my vacation!!
Shannon_B, May 2022
I went on quite a few different tours throughout my vacation to Scotland, and I have to say out of all of them, this one was the absolute best, mainly because of our wonderfully crazy and fun driver/ tour guide Stephen. Thanks to the Hairy Coo, my three day trip to the Isle of Skye was amazing. And not just because of all of the wonderful places we stopped, planned and surprises. But because of Stephen’s retelling of the Highlands, Scotland and Scottish clans history while driving through was very entertaining and engaging. Getting to know a bit more about the history of Glen Coe, and the stories behind landmarks throughout the trip made seeing them in person more impressive and memorable. His recommendations and knowledge of the best restaurants and places to eat and see were invaluable and made the trip that much more enjoyable. The surprise/ bonus stops to see Hamish and Honey were very welcomed and enjoyable. And fortunately, TSA never asked the livestock question when flying home. I highly recommend booking a tour with the Hairy Coo while visiting Scotland.
