The Orkneys was an amazing, fascinating destination. Tour was professionally organised and Roland was an entertaining, knowledgeable tour leader. Highly recommended
The 5day Orkney tour was amazing. Barney our driver was full of knowledge of all the places we went through and full of cheeky anecdotes that made it really interesting. Being in a Neolithic village and walking on Culloden Moor are memories forever. My accommodation was excellent in all stops. If you like history, ask for Barney.
This tour was exactly what we wanted. Great guide accommodations more than adequate requires a certain amount of agility and stamina, walking up and down and steps, but we are 71 and 76 and had no trouble. Lovely people, interesting history, archeology, and scenery. Highly recommended. Small group, 15 people in a small bus. Full days but time to relax, meals, other than breakfast, on your own. If you do not choose the higher level hotel option, your B and B may not be in a place from which you can walk to dinner and will need a taxi.
This tour was brilliant. Michael our tour guide was funny, professional and friendly. He had so much local knowledge and we loved his stories. He is obviously a proud Scot. We couldn't fault anything- the accommodation was very comfy and first rate with great breakfast, the coach was comfy and modern and the itinerary was jam packed but manageable. Thanks for helping us fall in love with the Scottish Highlands and the Orkney Islands.
So much to tell on this jam packed Highland love affair. Our driver extraordinaire, Karen was amazing. She was passionate, articulate, funny and proud of her country. From the Highlands to the lowlands, Karen kept our group entertained with stories past and present, embellishing our tour with amusing tales, amazing scenery and an energy that was positive and infectious. A highlight for me was our time in the Orkneys. Not just the archaeology, which was spectacular, but seeing places only read of before. We sampled local cuisines, sipped on whisky, and laughed. What more could you want? Friendships were made and memories were created. You need to come to Scotland.

Totally fab -- this was an amazing tour!
Our Rabbies tour guide was Nick and he was the best! Very witty, extremely knowledgeable, and kept everyone on the bus very entertained.
The sites we visited were amazing and we had great weather on Orkney.
Looking forward to my next Rabbies tour.
We thoroughly enjoyed this trip through the Highlands of Scotland and Orkney. Every minute of the tour was filled, the number of things we saw and experienced plus the informed and entertaining commentary from our guide/driver kept everyone's interest throughout. The two days in Orkney were particularly good, especially if you were interested in the historic remains such as Maeshowe and Skarra Brae. The Italian Chapel was very moving. The accommodation in Inverness could have been better but the hotels in Kirkwall and Ullapool were excellent. Our guide Karen, was brilliant, when time allowed she took us to see places outside the itinerary, her local knowledge and love of Scotland made this a holiday to remember.
We,13, of us, of different ages, had a great time seeing the Scottish highlands, and some of the Orkney Islands amidst a snow storm and gale force winds. It was a journey and very beautiful, though very cold.
Wish we would have taken some group photos and had at least one dinner all together as a group.
Our guide, James was amazing! He was very knowledgeable and made sure to bring us the highlights everywhere we went. He added comedy as well as being able to answer our questions at random. This trip is highly recommended for anyone who wants to see great scenery, as well as a lot of history. Skara Brae is a sight that is not to be missed, as well as all the other history in the Orkney Islands.
We are now considering taking more Rabbi's tours in Ireland, because we were so impressed with this trip.
Wonderful tour, excellent guide, just the right size group. Accommodation was perfect and the locations visited made for a wonderful trip.
This trip was everything I expected and more. Our driver/guide, Karen Marr, was knowledgeable, entertaining, and very patient with our diverse group of travelers. The scenery was stunning, Karen's information and stories were wonderful, and the accommodations we chose to stay in hotels instead of B and B or Guest Houses were excellent. No complaints, whatsoever. We had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend this trip.
My wife and I were very impressed with the Orkney tour. Very informative and a knowledgeable driver/guide in David. It ticked all the boxes for us and a few that we did not expect.
Our tour of the Orkneys was wonderful. Our Driver/Guide David was extremely informative and diversified our agenda to accommodate all of our needs. The accommodations were excellent. Many thanks to David for making our trip unforgettable.
This trip was fantastic. Rabbie's Tours does an incredible job. Their tour guides are always very knowledgeable.
We had a wonderful trip to Orkney islands. Weather was cool, some drizzling, scenery was beautiful and our guide Karen was very knowledgeable!
Audrey was a great guide and gifted story teller
She often would stop often in places not on the tour
but on the way to show us things relating to Scottish history and/ or lifestyle
The variety of scenery and historical features was amazing
The guesthouses were all welcoming and comfy
Fantastic tour! The tour is with Rabbie's and is very well planned. The mini coach is comfortable - only eight people on this tour so was plenty of room in the coach. The guide Heather was fantastic, very knowledgable, great customer service skills, good sense of humour and great story teller! The accommodation arranged was very suitable, stay at the Hildeval in Kirkwall, very friendly hosts and comfortable rooms. I will definitely travel with Rabbie's again when I'm next in Scotland.
Don't hesitate AT ALL when it comes to booking a tour with Rabbie's. They are extremely professional and organized and their drivers are very skilled, well versed and respectful of all passengers. I did two of the 5-day trips with them, this one to Orkney and another to Skye and they were fabulous. Both trips only had 8-10 passengers, but even if the van was full 16 clients max it would be very comfortable. There are plenty of stops and bathroom breaks throughout the day, so that is not a concern. The hotels/B and B's varied, but all were very clean, friendly and convenient to the main locale. You cover a large amount of ground on this tour, heading up the east coast of the Highlands to John O'Groats and taking the ferry beautiful 1-hour ride over to the AMAZING Orkney Isles. Rugged, stark windswept beauty...gorgeous, two nights in this ancient and magical place! And then back to the mainland and another stunning day exploring the west coast of the Highlands down to the lovely village of Ullapool. The last day's drive back to Edinburgh is filled with more beauty and history with a moving stop at the battlefield of Culloden. Seriously, having been on 2 of the 5-day tours with Rabbie's, I will absolutely tour with them again! I should mention that I am a single woman in my 50's, solo traveler and these tours made it a very easy and stress free not having to drive alone way to get out of town and see the Highlands and Isles. Made some new friends along the way as well. Thanks for the marvelous memories Rabbie's and I'll be back to lovely Scotland soon!
This was wonderful! Great tour guide Barney, great companions, great weather, beautiful scenery, and fascinating stops. Orkney's sites were awesome Maes Howe, Skara Brae, Stennis, etc.. Guide made great suggestions for restaurants. B and Bs were lovely and friendly. Not enough time in Inverness, but then there never is. We saw a lot more of the Highlands than I expected on this trip. Culloden battlefield visitor center exhibit was new to me, and well worth the stop.
Excellent programme and guide . All I could have hoped for , with excellent choice of hotels .
Absolutely fantastic!! Very knowledgeable guide who played commentator on aspects of history and folk lore. He was quite happy to answer all our questions, flexible as needed. Bus was very comfortable. Accommodation organised was wonderful - all hosts were extremely friendly and rooms were pleasant and well appointed. Would happily go again!!
This was the absolute highlight in what was an amazing 4 weeks in the UK. If history is your thing this is unmissable. Our B and B accommodation was excellent. Our guide/bus driver, Gus was an absolute star and a great story teller. It was a small tour which made it all the better.
All our Scotland trips through Viator/ Rabbies were Awesome!! Very Professional friendly Team!! We would defintely Highly Recommend!!
