Uncover the mysteries of Loch Ness on an exciting day-trip from Edinburgh. Set out north along Scotland's West Coast to experience one of the country's most iconic lochs, best known for the fabled 'monster' said to reside deep within its waters. En route you'll pass some incredible sights, including the ruins of Linlithgow Palace, Ben Nevis―Britain's tallest mountain―and dramatic Highlands landscapes recognizable from films like 'Skyfall.' Your guide will also regale you with stories about the area, making for an exciting, informative―and if you're lucky, truly 'legendary'―trip.
This trip has it all. First you start with an excellent tour guide who knows and loves his subject matter. Then you add beautiful scenery and an opportunity to sail on fabled Loch Ness. All this as well as a comfy small bus with plenty of opportunity to stop to take in the views and snap photos. Result - a perfect day.
I really enjoyed the tour to Loch Ness and the Highlands. Our tour guide provided interesting information and stopped at neat places along the way. I highly recommend this day tour if you'd like to see rural, pastoral, and very picturesque places in the Scottish Highlands!
The views of the Scotland Highlands are breathtaking. These views were all seen from within the bus windows. Huge disappointment there was not time scheduled to get out and take it in. When we did stop it was for 2 minutes. I reccomend seeing the Scotland Highlands, I do NOT recommend this tour.
I wasn't overly thrilled with the trip. You pass most landmarks listed at a warp speed and if you blink, miss seeing it, let alone taking a picture. The stops are terrible- a dump for lunch where the food is expensive and no facilities properly stocked. There was a mall just before it with McDonald's and other chains that would have been better.
The views of Wallace monument, double castle and Stirling should not be mentioned as you don't truly see anything other than the chair in front of you. Then you get to the Loch Ness and you are expected to pay an ADDITIONAL 13.50 for the boat in top of the 49 you paid to have the driver drive you up there. The final stop in Pitlocherie was not good either as everything was closed. The route and stops could have been better to include truly seeing the landmarks. I don't recommend this trip as it was a rip off for what you got and saw.
