A wonderful glimpse into a world we imagine we know but really don't. Was surprising and intimate. Loved it.

It's not a yacht. It's a huge ship! And what we see inside it gives an insight on the life of the Royal Family. It's pure luxury. Beautiful to the extreme! Totally worth visiting it!

If you are visiting Edinburgh then doing the Royal Yacht Britannia is a must we are. Family of 4 adults and all found this tour thoroughly enjoyable and totally interesting , on boarding the ship we were given an audio tour each which was very interesting and informative. The ship is just as it was when in service a totally brilliant 2 hours fully recommend. Also take a look at the shopping centre next door with free car parking.

Well worth the admission. See it to believe it. You get a very good idea of what it was like to be on that ship.

The Royal Yacht made me feel like a Royal. Beautifully kept ship with gorgeous teak walkways. Every detail perfect. Rolls Royce onboard as well as a small yacht named Bloodhound for the Royals day excursions. A good history of their trips. A wonderful gift shop and afternoon tea served on deck!

My husband was in the Navy so this was supposed to be for him, but I loved it, too. The Royal Yacht gave an insight into the lives of the royals who used it. The living quarters helped me understand the understated, classic taste of the queen. The furnishings were impeckable. My husband loved seeing how the yacht ran and all the little places the crew worked. There was a wonderful game for children to hunt for how many Corgie stuffed dogs they could find. Of course, they sell them in the gift shop, but they were adorable. We had tea and felt like royals!

Loved - loved - loved this day out. My husband was not really keen on this excursion and mid way through he commented - this is great ! I think it was that this yacht had been used by the Royal family and not a replica. The tour was self guided through an audio device which meant you could go at your own pace. We stopped for afternoon tea in the dining room - as you do :-
TIp - be early - the queue is very long mid morning

We saved this tour until the last day, it was amazing to think that you could get so close to where history was made! Loved the interactive bits where you could even sit on the seats, buy sweets from the tuck shop, have lunch and see how Royalty, the visitors and the staff all lived on board the yacht!

The whole attraction was extremely well organized, flowed nicely, and the audio tour worked seamlessly and without a hitch. The ship itself and the history behind it was fascinating. The tour is organized so that it flows beautifully even with a constant crowd.
I highly recommend this to anyone visiting Edinburgh.
Go in the morning to avoid the crowds and then have lunch at the Roseleaf pub in Lieth, just a short walk away.

A full court press on both British history over the last half century and the care and feeding of a luxury yacht not the least of which is the steam driven power plant. All this set in Leith harbor with lots of offshore oil well service craft activity. The historic royal yawl Boomerang was an added treat

It is good to be king! The tour allows you to see how royalty lives. The stuffed corgis around in various rooms were fun as was the wooden monkey hanging from a pitcher. The pictures of the royals were fascinating.

The Royal Yacht Britannia was a great tour - very glad we did it and it was very well organized. We had a sandwich lunch on board and it was delicious - especially their home made Iced Tea. If you are visiting the beautiful city of Edinburgh, be sure to do this.

While planning 'things to do' for our Edinburgh trip, I picked this tour on a whim. My husband and I were amazed at the elegance of this ship. The experience was better than expected. The tour was a self guided with a head set. The company does a good job of crowd control. We learned a lot and enjoyed the way the stories were told on the audio guide. Young and old alike should enjoy this tour. We took the local bus from old town Edinburgh to the port. It was easy and a nice site seeing journey.
