We got totally lost and had to get a taxi, which was a sad and expensive way to end the day.
This was a great way to see the Highlands if you don't want to be on the bus for 12 hours.
Yes, there are a lot of stairs in the castle, but even with bad knees, I was able to enjoy the tours - but I balked at the spiral stair up to the top of Doune Castle!

Our guide Gary was incredible! He was really knowledgeable and he accompanied the whole tour with interesting fun facts about the history of the places we stopped at — and every place was absolutely beautiful! It was quite a surprise to see such alpine-looking landscapes snuggled deep in the West Scottish Highlands, but everything from the grassy hills to the lakes was wonderful. Would recommend to anyone wanting to briefly visit inland Scotland while in Edinburgh without having to drive themselves. Overall, a great experience!

I choose the West Highland Locks, Mountains & Castles trip because I wanted to see Kilchurn Castle and Inveraray Castle. The guide was very knowledgeable, and the information was plentiful and well-rounded. The trip included stops at a breakfast location, Inveraray Castle, and Luss as well as shorter photo-stops at Kilchurn Castle, a hill/loch, and Stirling Castle.

Stuart was a great tour guide. Lots of stories and history. He was very friendly and funny. Great stops along the way for pics and he took pics of our family so we could all be in the pics together for a change. Bus was comfortable.

Stuart was a fantastic guide! I was so impressed with both his driving and his knowledge. His fortitude should be commended, too. I don't know how someone can talk for 9 straight hours in a day! I lived his custom playlist of Scottish music. It was appropriate for every part of the journey.

This was a really good tour, however when it says "Visit Stirling Castle, Loch Awe, and Kilchurn Castle" it means a 5 minute photo stop or we literally just drive past it, you don't get to go in. It was still a really enjoyable tour. I was just disappointed cause I wanted to go in Kilchurn castle. Our bus driver was great, interesting and very knowledgeable.

I highly recommend this tour of the Highlands, Loch Lomond and Inveraray Castle. Our tour guide Donald was amazing and we appreciated all the knowledge of history he shared. He added a lot of fun to our experience and he even took us to a few other stops not on the itinerary so that we could experience other lovely spots in Scotland. He shared that he is retired and just enjoys showing others the beauty of Scotland. All of the stops were breathtaking and photos can't capture how beautiful Scotland is. You really have to experience it! Timberbush tours was a wonderful experience and I would book from them again!

Scotland is so beautiful. Brian was a fabulous tour guide who loves his country and share it with everyone on the tour. Pay attention to the history--you'll learn a lot. Two things to note: #1 - You spend a lot of time driving but out your window are endless views of magnificent country. #2 - If you have only a day to take a trip into the highlands, that is better than nothing. However if you have more time, it would be wiser to take a multi-day trip so that you can spend more time exploring rather than running out from Edinburgh and then having to run back in.

This tour was great for what it was, we saw beautiful scenery and got to experience the Highlands in a quick trip. Our tour guide, Brian, was great. We would give it 4 stars for what it was. However, the description was not accurate. We did not visit Doune or Stirling castle on the experience, we just drove by them. As far as the Lochs and Mountains- this was a great tour. Just lacking on the castles. The description needs to be updated.

Highlands Tour

Our tour guide Stuart was outstanding! During our time in the van, he talked about our surroundings, history stories, or play Scottish music the entire time! He never took a break! He worked so hard to make it the best trip. If he knew something we were interested in, he tried to find it and he was a great photographer for those scenery snaps (pics). It was a genuine authentic Highlands experience, seeing things in Scotland that otherwise would be missed!!
