Highly recommend taking this tour as you'll see some gorgeous castles and countryside!
Tour was very good. The driver was excellent in telling us about the area, and what we were seeing. My only wish was that we would have spent more time at Inveraray Castle.
We had a great tour with Martin as our guide. It is a very good overview, and it allows you to see many highlights of beautiful Scotland in a short window. Martin is a great guide, and obviously loves his job and showing off his homeland.
The Highland Lochs tour was very nice. On time and professional. Timberidge Tours did a nice tour with this one.
Our guide was great! She had so much enthusiasm which made the journey very enjoyable and entertaining. Very knowledgeable withgreat stories. The scenery was beautiful especially as the weather was so sunny. Throughly enjoyable and highly recommended. Tip: bring lunch to allow more time visit castl
This trip was a great trip. The one thing I think would be helpful is to publish the cost of the castle entrances in the tour information, so people are aware of the cost.
This was a lovely day trip from Edinburgh allowing us to explore the West highlands in about 7 hours. We thoroughly enjoyed our guide, Mr. Patrick Douglas', authentic Scottish accent and kilt! He was knowledgeable, funny and friendly and gave us enough time to explore at each stop. Would highly recommend this trip for anyone who wants to get a taste of the highlands, castles and lochs in a short amount of time.
This was a wonderful reasonably priced highlands tour! Our your guide Dave, kept us entertained and informed during the entire day. I would happily do another tour by this company if I am in Scotland again!
This was a good tour but I had gone on another tour to the Highlands so we covered some of the same drive. I wish we could have visited more castles. The tour guide was really nice and friendly. It was a large bus so I did fell a little rushed when we got to Inveraray Castle. I would have like more time to spend in the town and castle. But it was a long day.
Gary was a great driver/guide. One man show! He knew a lot of Scottish history and shared interesting information. The tour left from a convenient spot in the Hub of Edinburgh, and I think it was a good value. We saw a lot of things for the price. I wish castle admission were included though.

Great tour! Loved Doune and Inveraray Castles -- a perfect amount of time at each. Beautiful highland scenery along the way. Our lunch stop was at a cafeteria-type place, rather than a pub with ambience. Had time to do a bit of shopping there, however was next to a souvenir shop. Our driver wore a kilt ! and shared a lot of interesting historical information, as well as pointed out sights all along our route. My only complaint would be Loch Lomond. Very beautiful lake scenery -- we drove for quite some time along the lakeside. But when we finally stopped for photos, he parked in a shopping center parking lot, and our only view of the lake was at a very unattractive, dumpy, commercialized part of the lake after passing mile upon mile of beautiful lake scenery. Overall, however, I would definitely recommend this tour!!
Stuart (driver+guide) provides a comfortable pace and yet entertaining ride. This tour (10hr) is much less demanding compared to the Ness trip (12hr). But note that the first half of this trip is similar to Ness trip. So I will say just go for either one will do. Recommended.
Super easy to find the tour. Loved the smaller sized group- it made it very personable. Our driver had a lot of wonderful stories and facts to tell us throughout the trip. You really get a feel for the life of Scotland, not just the glorified history with this tour. My only knock on this trip was that our driver was a bit of super cautious driver- not usually a bad thing but I feel like we could have fit in more while we had daylight. Especially since literally every driver passed us when they got the chance. But wonderful trip nevertheless!
Doune Castle was excellent, however, there wasn't enough time allotted to really be able to explore the castle. This castle is unoccupied and is maintained by Historic Scotland and they have done an excellent job in maintaining the property. You can get a real sense of what life would have been like in a medieval fortress/castle. The second castle on the tour was just another occupied castle whose owner allows visitors to see a small portion of the rooms. It is not particularly interesting. Loch Lomond and the model village that sites on its shores was disappointing. The model village is crowded and I didn't see anything of particular interest. The information provided by the tour driver was standard Scottish history stuff and clearly the same old script he had recited a hundred times before. Doune Castle is definitely worth a visit and if you can arrange to get there on your own that would be better value than taking this tour. I would not recommend this tour.
Tour needs to start earlier in day. By the time we got to St. Andrews every thing was closing due to winter hours.
