Overview

Visit the stunning Perito Moreno glacier on this full-day trip from El Calafate. Ride via coach to Los Glaciares National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to explore the park's scenic lookouts and walkways to see the glacier from a multitude of different angles. Opt for a boat ride along Perito Moreno's dramatic front side for additional spectacular views of the icy giant.
  • Roam the walkways and viewpoints of Los Glaciares National Park to see the glacier from all angles
  • Gaze in awe at the mighty south face of Perito Moreno
  • Learn about this immense natural phenomen and the park’s geology, flora, and fauna from your guide
  • Upgrade to include a boat ride close to the glacier front wall
After pickup at your El Calafate hotel, travel by comfortable coach to Los Glaciares National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to Perito Moreno glacier. During the ride, learn about the park's animal and plant life, including details about Perito Moreno. Stop along the journey at scenic alpine lookouts among the mountains and the steppes.

Arrive at the 'Curve of Sighs,' a turn in the solitary road that offers visitors their first panoramic view of Perito Moreno. This gigantic ice field is one of the only advancing glaciers in the world, a 19-mile (30-km) block of ice that juts out into the milky blue water of Lago Argentino.

Walk on the glacier using the park's wooden walkways and follow directions from your guide to some of the area's hiking trails. Visit the viewing platforms for perspectives of the immense ice field from different angles and levels. Watch for calving: chunks of ice rupturing off the face of the glacier and cascading into Lago Argentino. Break for lunch (own expense) in the park's restaurant or enjoy refreshments you've brought with you.

Re-board your coach for the ride back to El Calafate and drop-off at your hotel.

Optional Boat Ride: After viewing the Curve of Sighs, head directly for Bajo Las Sombras port and board your boat. Sail between floating ice chunks of every size as you cross the Rico Arm of Lago Argentino. Visit the advancing wall of the glacier, a 196-foot (60-meter) vertical face of ice that juts out into the lake.

Afterward, join your guide for a visit to the footbridge that allows multiple views of Perito Moreno from land. Observe ice calving and crashing from the wall into the lake before you return to your coach for the ride back to El Calafate and drop-off at your hotel.

Nice trip

The trip was good, nothing special I could mention. We stoped at the worst view points, so we couldn’t take a nice distance picture of the glaciers. We got to the glaciers and we had around 3 hours to discover by our own, then there was a boat tour - at additional cost of course - that took us a bit closer to the glacier. At the end they offered us local drinks and chokolates, that was really nice.

Dear Nora We are really sorry to read that the tour didn't meet all your expectations. We made the stops under the recommendation of the National Park Los Glaciares, they choose the best stops to appreciate the Perito Moreno Glacier. Also, We provide passengers with free time on the walkways, so they can take pictures without a hurry, where they have a panoramic view of the glacier. In case you want to be on the glacier, we recommend taking the minitrekking tour, which is the best option if you want to trek on the glacier. Best regards

Out of this world

The Perito Moreno Glacier is an out of this world experience that we will only witness once in a lifetime! Gaston (driver) was very welcoming and efficient to getting everyone to the glacier and back. Noelia (tour guide) was very down to earth, welcoming and energetic. She taught us about the Perito Moreno and made the entire bus feel like a family some how by the time they dropped us off. The entire bus was waving goodbye to each other. Thank you sooo much!! :)

Really enjoyed the experience- there was plenty of time to see the Glacier from the walkways and the boat and we were not hurried. The guide was knowledgeable and the day went smoothly. Only issue is the need to have cash for park entrance fee - not the trips fault but a problem when accessing cash in Argentina is so expensive

This tour was very good. More interesting than we thought it would be (for some reason we nearly didnt book it). The tour guide was excellent and the vehicle comfortable. Like all the day trips that we took out of El Calafate with Viator (El Chalten and Torres del Paine) the guides took the time to explain what we would see, how the day would go, and were excellent at making certain that your trip was comfortable and safe. Marisa was our knowledgable and professional guide and we enjoyed being with her. We opted for the boat ride and if possible you should do the same. It's worth it and if you're there you should see the glacier up close. Thanks to all for a memorable day!

My husband and I had a great time doing this tour. Our tour guide Nadia made the tour so interesting and kept telling us interesting info during the ride. The tour had about 20 people only and the bus was full it felt like going on a family trip we all got to know each other. Everything was perfectly organized and right on time. Amazing scenery of the glacier in the national park and during the ride. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Good experience. I thought this included trekking on the glacier, bit it did not. Make sure you bring your own lunch. Would suggest for families or solo travelers.
