Upsala Kayak Tour from El Calafate

Your full-day adventure starts with pickup at your El Calafate hotel and transfer to Punta Bandera, where you'll meet your expert tour guides. Upon boarding the ferry, you'll be met with steaming beverages and a sweet pastry to help ward off the chilly air for the duration of the 3-hour ride to Lake Argentina. Lunch will also be served, since you'll need fuel for your thrilling kayak excursion.

Once you reach Argentine Lake, you'll be briefed on water safety and given full kayak paddling instruction by your local adventure guides. Set out along the rock-strewn shore of Upsala Channel or out into Onelli Bay in your sturdy kayak, depending on the weather, the movement of the icebergs and the guide's expert knowledge. Paddle for about two hours;  your guides to adjust the pace based on the smal group's needs and skill level.

During your expedition, your guides will offer insider information about the features of the landscape. Learn about the local wild cows and the condors, as well as the native plant life as you glide quietly over vibrant azure waters. Hulking icebergs in fantastical shapes will float by as you dip your paddle into the near-freezing waters.

Back on the ferry, rest your tired arms and eat your complimentary snack. Once back at Punta Bandera Port, you'll be delivered back to your El Calafate hotel.

It and #39;s a tour absolutely worth taking! It takes you to a place usually impossible to go to for us and #34;normal and #34; people. Staff is fun and friendly and you can see the enjoy their job. The only thing that bothered me a bit was that the crew was slightly toooo safety minded...

This was worth every penny! You must take the time to do this amazing excursion! I was worried because it was raining on our day, but the guide said it was the best conditions of the year since the lake was so calm. We saw hundreds of icebergs! The guides were so knowledgeable and fun!

Although expensive, the opportunity to kayak among icebergs was amazing. The equipment provided ia very good and keeps you warm and dry and the knowledge of the guides was amazing. You don't get to kayak right up to the glaciar but up close to the icebergs.
