This was absolutely amazing! I can't recommend David and Martin (our tour guide and driver) enough. They were so knowledgeable and very ready to make everything personal for us. I couldn't have asked for a better tour to a more interesting place, and I highly recommend taking the private viewing.
I felt the tour guide (Eric) was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, pleasant and kept us on track. The bus driver was excellent as well. Most of us on the tour only wished that we could have started out earlier as we had the sunset tour at Stonehedge and felt as if we didn't have enough time once arriving there. Our dinner was at LaCock at 6:30, which was dark so we weren't able to see the village - somewhat disappointing. Other than that it was wonderful.
Our guide David was really knowledgeable and you could tell he loved what he did. There was a lot of driving on this trip but its a beautiful view along the way. Bath was such a beautiful town as was Lacock and the pub that we had lunch in was small but they handled the size of our group so well as well as having delicious food. we then went onto Stonehenge and although the shop is closed by the time we got there, to have it all to ourselves was so worth it! I booked in Feb for a trip in Aug, you really do need to book early! Getting to wander through the stones instead of just around meters away from it as well as not having to fight crowds makes it an amazing experience.
Wonderful trip. Great o get inside the ring. Lacock was very charming and Bath was wonderful as expected.
We had David, a very knowledgeable guide who amused us with stories and interesting history of the places we were going, as well as London and England in general. He also handled a very difficult person on the bus, who could have turned the tour into a nightmare for everyone. David made an effort to engage everyone on the bus and tried to get as much info and activity as he could in the limited time we had. We had three in our party and we would definitely do this tour with David as our guide again.
Being picked up and taken to Stonehenge and being able to go into the middle was amazing. Even though we werent there for sunset as thought being there early in the morning with no other people around made it special. Highly recommended doing this. Bath and Lacock were great and are a nice addition to seeing Stonehenge.
This is really the only way to see Stonehenge. We spent over an hour and a half wandering between the stones. One of our later tours included a regular visit and people were a little upset that they were not able to get up close to the stones. Laycock very pretty but as we had decided that we would not opt for the full breakfast and only wanted tea and scones we were told by the proprietor at the George that we would have to wait until everyone else was served. (little bit of attitude). We walked up to the Red Lion pub and had a fantastic morning tea with no queue. Bath was well worth the visit.
Walking through Stonehenge was a great experience, just looking at the stones and the surrounding plains and wondering, why did they do this? :-)
The trip to Lacock wasn't terribly exciting for me, but I absolutely loved Bath! I could have spent all day there.
This tour is a great way to see two World Heritage sites on the same day!
Bath was very crowded and dinner was fairly rushed. The time spent in Stonehenge, however, was amazing! I would do this again in a heartbeat!!
Fantastic tour. The only tour available for our dates that allowed us to go inside the circle was the private viewing at sunrise. We were picked up at a specific hotel about 5 am and after several more stops to pick up others on our tour, we left London for Stonehenge. The tour delivered what they promised with one exception...we did not arrive at Stonehenge until AFTER sunrise. Even though we did not see the sunrise it was a marvelous experience. We were met by the security person and escorted to the circle where our guide gave us some basic information. Only 25 people were allowed inside the circle at a time for 30 minutes. We were in the second group. As the first group viewed the stones, we walked around on the pathway around the circle. When we were allowed inside the circle, we were given more information by our guide. As it turned out, the security person had a ton of information about the background of the stones as well as some great pictures of the summer and winter solstice (I think).
Gong to Bath and Lacock were nice add ons but Stonehenge was definitely the star of the show for us
If you are going to see Stonehenge this is the way to do it. Yes you have to get up early, but it is worth it. The tour is private and you can walk amongst and inside the stones. On other tours you can only walk around a designated path. Lacock was quaint and a nice stop for an English Breakfast. The Roman Bath's in Bath (thus the name) were fantastic and the town did a great job in restoration. Would have liked to spend more time there! I will return one day to Bath to spend the night and take in more of this beautiful village. The guide was knowledgeable and even the bus driver joined in to give the group a hand. Very enjoyable and worth the cost.
Paul, our guide, and Cyrus, our driver, could not have been more welcoming, informative, accommodating and professional! The trip to Bath, Lacock and Stonehenge (with the magical sunset as we were leaving) could not have been better! Highly recommended!
This was fantastic! Our driver and tour guide were fantastic. I must see.
This was the most amazing part of our vacation. Our guide, James, was so perfect. Right down to his bowler hat. The trip was informative and the Roman Baths and lunch at the George were great but what made it one of a kind was being able to step inside the circle at Stonehenge. I was walking where people walked 5000 years ago and where very few people can walk today. Truly a once in a lifetime adventure.
