Overview

Cast your eyes on La Bufadora, the largest sea geyser in North America, on this 4-hour guided tour from Ensenada. Located in the Punta Banda Peninsula, La Bufadora shoots water out of a sea cave more than 100 feet into the air. After capturing this striking natural feature with your camera, browse through a crafts market in Baja California and pick up one-of-a-kind souvenirs. Your in-the-know guide shows you a variety of seaside restaurants where you can relax and purchase snacks and drinks. Hotel transport included.
  • 4-hour guided tour of La Bufadora from Ensenada
  • Marvel at the sea geyser of La Bufadora
  • Shop for the perfect gifts at a large crafts sidewalk market
  • Taste food and drinks of the Baja California region (own expense)
  • Pickup and drop-off from Ensenada hotels, Guadalupe Valley hotels and the cruise port included
After midmorning pickup, travel with your guide about 24 miles (39 km) south of Ensenada to the Punta Banda Peninsula. En route, enjoy the passing landscapes of mountains and the Pacific Ocean.

Arrive at La Bufadora, the largest sea geyser in North America. Hear from your guide about how air, trapped in a sea cave, causes water to explode upward, often shooting more than 100 feet (31 meters) above sea level, creating a thunderous noise. Depending on the strength of the waves, this phenomenon repeats about every minute, so you are sure to see La Bufadora in action.

Then, your guide takes you to a popular sidewalk market of handicrafts and souvenirs made in Baja California. Find fun home décor items and gifts here, and then relax with food and drinks at one of the nearby restaurants (own expense) offering stunning views of the ocean.

Your 4-hour tour ends with drop-off back at your hotel.

We had a fantastic time on this excursion. Our guide, Juan, was exceptional. We would encourage everyone to make this trip.

What a pleasant surprise this tour was ! We walked to the end of the Carnival Cruise Ship pier and was greeted by Juan Santiago and left for the La Bufadora Tour in his personal car. Juan knew the area well and he was very friendly. I couldn't believe we had a personal tour for the low rate I paid. The La Bufadora blow hole was interesting and Juan pointed out many interesting points along the way - this was one of my favorite Tour.

Euginia and Luigi are definitely great tour guides! Recommended for everyone who wants to visit Tijuana/Baja California!

Rather than purchasing an excursion from the Cruise, we opted to book a local guide with transportation by a private vehicle. We were delighted to have this personal tour led by Eugenia Ibanez and Lugi Minchini who took great care of our family of five. Eugenia is very personable, speaks excellent English and answered all our questions about the area, culture, people and Mexico. She was the highlight of our tour and made us all feel welcomed, comfortable and informed. Luigi is also an excellent driver, seemingly knowing every speed bump and pothole, where he would slow down and cross easily so that the passengers were not jostled. They were very flexible and made the trip feel more like a nice family outing ... it was a pleasure meeting them and hearing so much about Ensenada, the city and area they so much enjoy.
