Taking the Milford Sound Nature Cruise was terrific. My son and I drove from Greymouth down to Te Anau the night before and made the short drive to Milford Sound early the next morning. We arrived in time to have a great coffee and toasted sandwich and then went off for a 2 hours trip viewing the fjord and environs. Jack, the 'emcee' for the cruise that day, was great - he enlightened us travelers with many facts of the history and formation of Milford Sound and pointed out the various flora and fauna along the way. Even though it was raining it usually is, it was a most enjoyable experience and recommend it highly.
Spectacular experience for our family. Staff on the boat were sensational and displayed both care and humour over the coarse of the trip. Very professional!
Even with the pooring rain, this tour was great. The guide was super knowledgeable and his comments were extremely interesting. Most do if you are in this region.
You can't do justice to Milford Sound without taking a cruise out. The land views are great but they can't compare to the amazing views from the water. We had to adjust our trip, arrived a day earlier than we had originally scheduled but they made the necessary last minute adjustments to honor our reservation. We can't begin to thank them enough for this accommodation.
I have done a Milford Sound Cruise three times. Twice with larger boats and then the last time with this smaller boat nature cruise. I would highly recommend going on this smaller boat as it can get much closer to the waterfalls and is much more informative and friendly. Highly recommend.
One of our best days of our NZ holiday. I highly recommend this cruise.
It was fabulous. The people that did the tour we amazing. Everything was very organized. Great experience.
Boat was a good size, not too large, and no huge tour groups, which was a big factor in my decision to use this operator. Great narration, and we got so close to the steep walls that we were able to drink from a waterfall! It was cloudy and slightly rainy this is the norm, not blue skies and rest assured that it is still absolutely, jaw-droppingly amazing. And the waterfalls are more spectacular during/after the rain.
Fantastic little tour if you only have limited time. Friendly and informative staff.
We were so lucky to get a beautiful day, which really helped us enjoy the trip! Our guide was excellent - interesting to listen to and knowledgeable. The captain did a great job and the scenery was stunning!
Excellent cruise with the advantage that the smaller boat is not used by the hoards of coach trippers.
Happened to be a rainy day which only added to the experience. The whole operation was very efficient and the boat was the perfect size.
We had torrential rain all night and on our four hour drive to Milford Sound but were very fortunate that it stopped once we got on the boat. We estimate that we saw at least five hundred water falls some of which were very spectacular. The Captain of the boat was very friendly and informative, we had a great day.
Our tour guide was very informative and nice! There were fun activities on the trip including drinking water from one of Milford's waterfalls!
There is no question that Milford Sound is a must visit, however with 7 metres of rainfall every year be prepared for rain.
We copped a wet and cold day and visibility was very limited and this was in January.
If I was doing this again I would possibly do a shorter trip.
We were very fortunate to come across a pod of dolphins on our tour.
No issue with the tour operator.
