this tour was fabulous, nice and small and personable. 'Peter' our driver for the day was superb, adding extra photo stops in when he had time. The lunch on the boat was pretty poor, but we already expected that and brought a wee bit extra of our own. Overall it was brilliant.

Wonderful tour! On our tour, we stopped approximately five times each way at beautiful lakes, waterfalls, and sights. Great guide and commentary. Boat tour was not overcrowded and offered an included lunch (our and #39;s was not a boxed sandwich!). I would highly recommend.

The tour guide, Simon, was outstanding. His knowledge and passion matched the unforgettable scenery on the bus journey to Milford. The cruise on the sound was amazing with seal spotting a real bonus.

Our tour guide Simon was extremely knowledgeable and passionate. We learnt so much about the area that we wouldn't have learnt if we'd just driven to Milford ourselves. Overall it was a great experience and well worth it!

Great trip with a very good guide. Simon was knowledgeable, interesting and entertaining. Although Milford Sound was beautiful, I probably enjoyed the drive there and back even more. We stopped at scenic sights, took a couple of short strolls around the mirror ponds and to cascades in the bush and had a chance to play with Kea birds. Very glad we chose this company for the trip rather than doing it on our own.

Perfect trip. 33 passenger bus was just right for the trip.
Arrived early and did not have to put up with mobs that arrived around 12:00 to do the same tour.

As a general rule you either travel the sound in rain and see many beautiful waterfalls or have no rain and no waterfalls. We loved seeing the waterfalls as they are the beauty of the sound.

Must do! We had a guide going around for years. He knew a lot and he told us a lot. Little group so lots of time to have very nice stops and take pictures. The Soundtrip was in the sun so unforgetable. Very nice and almost a whole day trip. Relaxed and fun too!

This was brilliant, the small group idea worked perfectly as when disembarking from the coach you were not waiting around when we had to move on. Coach driver was great, very informative and a good sense of humour. Boat was perfect as again their was not too many people so all in all would really recommend this trip.

This tour was by a local tour operator under Jucy, had around 18 ppl. Our guide was Simon, who used to work as a conservationist before becoming a guide. Very knowledgeable about the stuff around Fiorland. Did a couple of short hikes which is not possible with those big tour buses. Enjoyable and recommended!

The most fantastic experience of our holiday. The guides Duncan and Dougie were great, I would recommend this trip to anyone, first class all the way.

Excellent trip, had a fantastic day. Tour guide very knowledgable. Lunch was fab, pitta pit on board the boat (I had chicken and cheese, boyfriend had BBQ steak) and cookie and free hot drinks! We paid $320 each to take the separate helicopter trip, was the best money we spent in NZ.

Fantastic trip. Beautiful scenery. Frank, our driver was very entertaining. Lunch was just a pita wrap. Ok but not great. Tea and coffee available for the whole trip.

A good guide (Frank) and plenty of stops to view the incredible scenery. The boat ride was spectacular and overall the day is breath-taking.

Our driver, Simon, was witty, fun and a wealth of information about the area, the environment, and the geologic development of the sounds. He was great. The bus we rode on from Te Anau to Milford was a little less than ideal. For a road like that, the suspension needed some work. It would sway enough to induce mild nausea and the rear tires would regularly rub in the wheel wells around tight turns or deep dips. I don't think it was unsafe, but a little unsettling. The boat was large enough to accommodate several hundred people, and did. Not at all unsafe, but a little crowded for my liking.
