So, there's SEEING the Grand Canyon, which I did 20 years ago. Then there's EXPERIENCING the Grand Canyon, which we did on this tour. Because just driving up and looking at it is not the same as gaining some depth of understanding about how it's vastness and how it came to be about the geology, cultures and history that have shaped it. And THAT, as they say, made all the difference. Our guide, Drew, is a geologist, Canyon hiker/camper, and passionate about the history that comes with it. He took us to several locations to get a sample of both the natural and human architecture, with stories and factoids that both humanized and amazed this natural wonder. Recommendations? 1. Ask for Drew! 2. Bring binoculars 3. Be prepared for wind and rapidly changing weather. For those less hardy? No worries: hubby took a nap in the van! No strenuous activity required. Participate as much or as little as you are comfortable. Snacks, lunch, plenty of water and soft-drinks. And for those more adventurous? Go here first to understand the unique challenges, and best strategies, available at this astonishing geologic and cultural icon. Worth your time AND your money!
Scott was our tour guide and there was only 4 of us on the tour. He was incredibly knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. His knowledge of geology and the local history were only surpassed by his ability to not only tell you the story of the area and the people that inhabited it. It was so compelling it made you feel like you were witnessing it first hand.
There was a great lunch that was provided and waters, soda and snacks on hand at all times. The colors of the Grand Canyon are spectacular and Scott brought his telescope for us to get close up views of the canyon. Thank you so much Scott!
Amazing experience! This tour, as promised, was small, got picked up from our hotel, and our guide Maggie was fantastic! Very knowledgeable, and we enjoyed this tour mainly because she made the trip so enjoyable!
This was the best decision. Brandon was the best. We learned so much and had the best time. This was better than the ratings. I was so happy with our choice.
I could not be happier with my choice. We had the best time.
Matt was absolutely awesome. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone with children who would like to learn about the Grand Canyon and the history of the surrounding area.
Outstanding! Pick up at the hotel was right on time. We quickly merged with others picked up by a different van and were off to the canyon as planned. The van was new, clean, and comfortable. Matt was a great tour guide, and using the headset in the van made it very easy to hear him, and the wealth of information he shared. We have plenty of stops at the canyon, with the ability to hand with Matt or wander off on our own. Lunch was great, including snacks and beverages.
Exceeded expectation. Marcia was a knowledgeable guide. Loads of fun facts and great stops during the day.
The tour was fantastic. Matt Webster our guide, was informative throughout the tour. His knowledge of geology and history was amazing. We travel throughout, Matt was one of the best guides ever. Highly recommend the tour. We were educated and entertained every moment of the trip. The best way to learn and experience Grand Canyon.
Great tour - Matt who was our guide was full of information about the Canyon and the surrounding area. Did a great job of answering questions and engaging the entire group. We had 3 groups on our tour but were very comfortable in the large van they had. Overall it was a great time and we would recommend this tour for anyone who wanted to see the Canyon.
This was a great day and a highlight of our entire trip! From the time we were picked up at our hotel and dropped back off at the end of the day, our guide Scott took good care of us! He was very professional, nice and informative. He has been doing this for 10 years. We not only got a lot of great information about the Grand Canyon, but also the surrounding Flagstaff area as well. This was a full day with many stops for points of interest to see, learn about and take pictures. We enjoyed a great lunch outside as well. We highly recommend this tour and are so glad that we found it!
Fantastico! Our guide, Drew, was informative, funny, and accommodating to all on the tour. We saw the crowds, but were able to avoid them and have a sense of seeing the canyon by ourselves.
Absolutely excellent. Scott took us to interesting and largely unfrequented viewing locations, and shared his extensive geological knowledge with us. An unforgettable day, and I cannot recommend this tour highly enough.
Tour guide (Drew) was very knowledgeable, very personable, and very efficient. Can and #39;t ask for more than that.
There were 6 of us in our group, our family and that was it. We got our own guided tour of the Grand Canyon. Our guide, Scott was very knowledgeable and friendly. A good sized van, a great lunch. I would definitely recommend this group to anyone. Van held up to 10 people but was just us. JOhn
Our small group consisted of only 3 people, but gosh was it wonderful. Our guide was David, who provided not only articulate and interesting info, but also humor and an easy-going vibe. One of the best trips I and #39;ve ever been on. If you want a relaxed but FUN guided GC trip, this is your best bet.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and professional. Since there were only two of us, he tailored the tour to our desires and interests. He was very friendly and informative.
Very informational. Our guide told us so many things about the Grand Canyon and answered all of our questions. It was a lot of fun and the canyon is beautiful.

Because we had never been to the Grand Canyon before, we decided that the best thing to do would be to take a guided tour. Little did we know what a great plan that was. From the moment we made our reservations, the folks at Gran Canyon Adventures made sure we knew what to expect. We received several emails and calls to confirm our reservation, identify what hotel we were staying at and confirm the time we would be picked up, and what we wanted for lunch. Matt, our tour guide arrived at our hotel on time and was enthusiastic and very engaging right from the start. He gave a very positive first impression, and we knew right away we were in for a great tour. The tour itself was fantastic. We hit a number of great spots along the south rim of the canyon. Matt was extremely knowledgeable and very deftly handled the varying levels of interest within the group. Lunch was provided and was very good. All in all, the Grand Canyon was awe-inspiring as advertised, and the guided tour with Grand Canyon Adventures was the way to see it. Ask for Matt if you book a tour with this outfit. He knows a tremendous amount about the geology of the Canyon and surrounding area, and is very outgoing, engaging, and patient in his handling of the group.
our guide Tom was great....we had our 5 year old grandson with us and he was very attentive to his needs...he was very knowlegable...we had a great tour!
Despite the blowing snow the guided tour was outstanding. Our guide was so knowledgeable of the canyon and had lots of stories on the canyon that you just wouldn't know about on your own. We were only in town for the day and we are extremely pleased with how we spent it.
It was fantastic! I recommend highly! Great guide, wonderful lunch. Would book with them again if in the area!! Super customer service as we had to change hotels which changed our pick up location.
