Chianti Semi-Private Cooking Class at a Tuscan Villa with Market Visit

Visit a market in central Florence to shop for quality local ingredients for your dinner!

Your cooking experience will begin in central Florence, where you’ll meet your host and head to a local market. Peruse the stalls, sample some of local specialties and shop for cooking ingredients with your host.

Afterward, climb aboard your minivan and journey out of the city, heading deeper into the rolling vineyards and olive groves of Tuscany’s Chianti wine region.

Arrive at a rustic villa and meet Chef Giovanni, your prominent instructor hailing from Florence. Tie on your apron and, under Giovanni’s guidance, prepare a delicious, 4-course meal. (See the Itinerary for a sample menu.)

Enjoy a special wine lab experience. This fun and educational experience will let you understand how different varieties of pure wines (from Sangiovese, Canaiolo grapes etc.) are blended to obtain the final complex wines, each one with a peculiar bouquet of scents and flavours.

Learn the ins and outs of Tuscan produce, tips on how best to prepare it and the fine art of creating pasta from scratch. Reward your efforts afterward by sitting down to feast on your dishes, complemented by local wine. Sip and swirl three varietals, typically a Chianti reserve, a Chianti Classico and a Tuscan dessert wine, and hear how to distinguish each blend’s characteristics.

After your meal, commemorate your new culinary chops with a certificate from Giovanni before returning to Florence.

This tour was great. I went with my mom and dad, and they got my dad to join in and cook. Making pasta was great and the food tasted great. Even though it a raining, it was still an awesome day. I would definitely recommend this tour again.

We had an amazing experience on our cooking tour. Alessio was a wonderful host, very interesting, attentive and fun! We learned a lot about cooking pasta and sauces, local chianti wine traditions and many other Italian tidbits along the way. I highly recommend it!

David was a great teacher and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the market and cooking class! It was great to have valet parking when we arrived at the office in Florence (extra 41€).

We would definitely choose another cooking tour with this company. Wish we had time for the Pizza/Gelato class!

We have never taken a cooking class before and thought this would be a fun experience. It so surpassed our expectations. The trip to the market was so much fun and we now only got to taste what we bought but we learned so much. Our chef was a good teacher and we made pasta, ravioli, tomato sauce and bologonese sauce. Dessert was tiramisu. Everything was sooo delicious. My husband still talks about this excursion and it was one of the highlights of our trip thanks to our chef.
