This trip allowed us to visit the beautiful villages of the Cinque Terre in one day. In order to accomplish this, the pace is brisk and time to explore each village is limited. Our tour guides were extremely knowledgeable and shared interesting information throughout the day. The setting for our lunch at Corneglia was delightful. However, you will need to navigate 382 steps from the train station to get to the village and restaurant. From there, we embarked on the hike to Vernazza. The terrain on the trail is rough and rocky at times, with some steep inclines. But the views are spectacular! Be sure to stop for a lemon icee at the cafe half-way through the hike. You'll need it! If you aren't up to hiking, you can ride the train. In the late afternoon, we relaxed with a bottle of wine and enjoyed incredible views of the Italian coastline as we journeyed by boat from Monterossa Al Mare to Riomaggiore before boarding our bus back to Florence. It's a long day and you will get a good workout with the stairs at Corneglia and the hike. But hey, you just experienced the incredible Cinque Terre!
One of the most memorable experience i had during my trip to Italy. Highly recommend it and the guides were so helpful and informative!
This was a fabulous trip led by Martina from Walkabout Tours. From start to finish Martina made the trip fun and full of facts about the region. Cinque Terre is by far one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Hiking from town to town makes you really experience the terrain and every turn of the trail leads to a photo op. I highly recommend this tour!
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour.
The staff were friendly and engaging. Alternatives were given for the those that may find the hiking too challenging.
The meal at lunch was most enjoyable along with the views from the restaurant.
Wandering around the streets of the towns was enjoyable also. There was enough time provided at each destination to walk the town, enjoy a wine or take in the views.
this was a fantastic day. bus ride was scenic and guide explained history as we drove. But the towns and the hike were just amazing ,, one of my favorite Italian days
Sandra was absolutely awesome! She is caring, thorough, and shows she loves what she does. She made the hike very enjoyable and a learning experience. The boat ride back was a very nice touch.
Great experience. We visited all five villages, hiking between villages 3 and 4. The hike was uphill for the first half but easily managed, the cold drink at the halfway point was very welcome. It gave us the opportunity to see more of the Italian coastline.
Dont miss this if going north Italy.. Just fabulous, had a great family time ... a unique combination of a Hike , boat ride, train ride and a bus ride :
One of the highlights of our trip to Italy. Our guide Martina was fabulous. The tour is well-organized, informative, and entertaining. We had enough time to see each of the towns, eat an excellent lunch, and get in a bit of hiking. Overall, I loved it--it was a great experience!
LOVED this trip, definitely one of the highlights of my vacation. Our tour guide, Sandra, was fantastic - very knowledgeable, organized, punctual and clear in her instruction. This hike is a must!! And if you get Sandra as your guide, even better!!
My wife said this was one of the best activities of our whole trip - Rome, Florence and Switzerland
This tour was truly AMAZING! This was one of my favorite days that my husband and I spent in Italy. It was such an adventure and the towns are so beautiful. The tour guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. She even made the drive to Cinque Terre fun and a learning experience. The only thing about the tour is that I wish we could have spent more time in each town. However, there is just simply no way to do that on a day trip. We would have needed to consider just spending 2 days at least in the region.
The hike is not too bad. My husband and I are in moderate shape I would say, and the hike was fine. You can go at your own pace, so you can take breaks when you need them especially to stop and soak in the beautiful scenery. Heights wise, I am terrified of heights, but I didn't find myself fearful at all on this tour. Just breathtaking. A must see location of Italy.
This tour was a definite highlight of my European trip. Our tour guide Matteo was so much fun and very energetic!! Just an absolutely wonderful day all around. The hike was beautiful with breathtaking vistas. I would highly recommend this excursion to anyone interested in seeing the Cinque Terre region.
Our guide Francesco was the best. My sons, 11 and 14 years old, had a blast. Perfect way to tire them out!
Our guide Johnny was simply wonderful! This is a bit of a whirlwind tour and I did find myself wishing we had a little more time in some of the villages - but the bonus is you get to see them all! The hiking portion of the trip was challenging as the terrain is quite rough. I am very fit - I run 10k a day about 5 times a week. Johnny was very clear that it was not an easy hike - and he was right! If you are fit, it is a terrific way to burn off the wonderful lunch which is provided. We were possibly the last tour of the season and that worked out fabulously as we were virtually the only tourists in the villages. The trade off was that some stores were closed, but I didn't find that a hardship. Great day trip - and our driver Marco got us there and back on time!
This was an absolutely amazing experience - fantastic tour guide , breathtaking views , plenty of yummy gelatos to tuck into when you reach each of the 5 villages . its a moderate hike but if you dont want to hike all the way they give you the option to take the train . absolutely loved it
Great exprerience, friendly and helpfull guide. If you want to see Cinque Terre, this is the tour to get.
The most magical and amazing experience of my life! The tour guide was phenomenal! And the views were unmatched!! I dream of the day that I will return! This is a must!
Matteo was the best tour guide you could possibly get. Funny, informative, great with communication, and making sure you're enjoying yourself. As you might not get him as your guide, I'll mention some about the tour. It's a couple hours bus ride and then some hiking up and down a lot of steps. There are some gorgeous views and catching sunset was fantastic. If you're going to use the public train bathrooms, do so before the very end of the tour as they closed before our train out arrived. Lunch was good and there was a seafood sampler for an appetizer sort of thing so bring your adventure pants!
This was really one of the highlights of my trip to Italy. The excursion was very well organised and our guides Stefano and Julien were incredible. The hike offered amazing scenery and was very doable for everyone in our group. The included lunch was also spectacular. I would really recommend this to anyone looking to hike through beautiful Cinque Terre.
