We took this tour the day after we got engaged and it was the perfect way to spend our time in Firenze.
Elisa and the chef and the other tour guide were so helpful, lighthearted and kind! We learned so much about the Florentino culture, they debunked myths about Italian cooking, all with an amazing view of the Tuscan countryside and awesome travelers from around the world to spend the day with.
Its educational and you are immersed in a wonderful Italian experience.
My wife and I spent 15 days in Italy and thoroughly traveled all over the peninsula, and this tour was our favorite. Each of the guides do a great job. Martina is an excellent guide who's very knowledgeable. Our particular tour had several history teachers myself included, which I assume would be rather intimidating for a tour guide, but Martina took it in stride. I learned a good deal from her. Even when she did not have the answers to some of our curious questions, I noticed her researching the topics on her phone on the bus rides. That's one of the reasons why she's awesome : Carmella, the chef, was very fun, and she made cooking seem so easy. The pizza chef who made an appearance, was also great. She was funny and a good teacher. WalkaboutFlorence does great with all their tours, but this one takes the cake. My wife and I did around 10 different tours while in Italy, and this one left us feeling like we really experienced Italy, and most specifically, Tuscany. Much of your time in Italy will include walking a great deal in quite a bit of heat, which is nice, but this particular tour offers you a well-needed reprieve from that as the kitchen is air-conditioned and you'll be very comfortable the entire time. The food was fantastic, and the atmosphere the best. I learned a great deal about Italian food as well, despite me being Italian any my father and grandfather being Italian chefs. If there's only one tour you do while in Italy/Tuscany, this is the one you'll want to do. Very good for making memories.
I highly recommend this tour we met great people and this was a lot of fun.Beautiful property.
Molly was an exceptional guide through the markets of ,Florence, providing history and context and lots of interesting insights into the food culture of Florence. She was friendly and knowledgeable and the tour through town gave us an understanding of the food we cooked and savoured in the beautiful Tuscan farmhouse. Carmela, the chef, was a real character and a good teacher. The roast pork was particularly memorable. We also got to enjoy a spectacular view of Florence from the top of the hill on our way back. This was a great and delicious experience!
This was our favourite day from our whole 2 weeks in Italy. Great guides (Sandra and Valeria), fabulous food, good wine and lovely company.
Really enjoyed the walking tour of Florence, and of course the coffee and food tastings were a hit.
Fantastic Farmhouse with great views. Carmela was the best!
When I first saw how much it was, I wasn't sure if it would be worth it, but it was a bargain for all I did in a day. The market was so fun to walk through and Olivia, our tour guide, was friendly and passionate about this city. All the food was delicious and it was a wonderful day spent in the Tuscan Hill side.
I loved this experience. I have always wanted to visit Tuscany and I simply love the food. This class is interesting, educational and in a location with an amazing view of Florence Italy. Worth every cent and more.
This was the first thing I booked for my tour in Italy and could not have been more impressed. I was a little hesitant at first since I was by myself and everyone else in the class was traveling with a friend or loved one but Elisa, the rest of the team, and the group really settled my nerves. We were too busy learning and laughing to ever feel like I was singled out! I learned so much more about Tuscan cooking and the city of Florence than I could get anywhere else. Plus, the farmhouse is set up high and you're able to really see the city centre of Florence - it's an indescribable beauty! I cannot thank this crew enough for an amazing last day in Italy! Definitely book this tour!!!
Great job by our guides Valeria and Sandra, Totally enjoyable and unique experience with our entire family accompanied by good food and wine
A MUST DO experience! Absolutely excellent from beginning to end. Tour guides Gloria and Lavi hope spelt correctly were superb. Friendly, happy, knowledgable and worked so hard all day to make a great day for us. Fantastic tips, super fun cooking an eating. All round terrific experience and well worth every penny. Myself, my husband and two kids loved this trip and chef Isaac was both witty, engaging and wonderful at sharing his knowledge. Definitely recommend this tour!! Brilliant thanks so much!
This was so much fun. We had Gloria and Lavi as guides and Chef Isak to guide us through the day. The information provided was fun and helpful. I can and #39;t wait to get home and try the recipes again. I would recommend this tour to anyone heading to Florence.

This tour was done by Walkabout tours and we had a wonderful tour. Our guides, Sandra and Martina were great and besides getting so much interesting and informative info about Florence and the history, the tour of the market and shopping for groceries was great. We loved the cooking class and learned a lot of techniques and loved actually making homemade pasta from scratch and cooking with the chef. It was by far our best tour and I would recommend it to everyone.
It is very nice, good cooks, nice people doing the tour, sure a recommendation!
We had an amazing time on this tour. Everything from learning to cook to the people we met, it was wonderful; one of the best days of our trip. Our tour guide Elisa was so friendly, helpful and overall a very nice person. I would recommend this tour to everyone.
This was a great tour, was met by Olivia and given a tour of the city till we reached the Mercato Centrale where we bought fresh produce for cooking, it was very interesting and informative. We then took the bus to a beautiful farmhouse and cooked delicious food with Carmella, it was a super trip and thoroughly enjoyed it. Olivia and Elisa were great hosts. Thanks very much
This was one of the highlights of our trip to Florence. Julian and Walkabout Tours did a great job. We laughed, learned a lot, met interesting people, had delicious food, wine and beer and thoroughly enjoyed our day and the surroundings. As we walked about and shopped for ingredients, it was very nice to learn from Julian little tidbits of history that we wouldn't have otherwise known about Florence. Once we got to the villa and began to prepare the food, we were instructed with humor and knowledge about everything we were doing. All in all this was a memorable day.
My family signed up for this tour after hearing rave reviews from a friend, and it proved to be our favorite activity of our vacation. The day began with a walking tour of Florence highlighting the best food and markets all while purchasing the necessary ingredients to cook dinner later that day. We then headed into the Tuscan Countryside to the Farmhouse where we were greeted by Chef Carmela. We cooked various types of food including appetizers, main courses, dessert and pizza! At the end of the day we savored in the fruits of our labor yum!. We highly recommend this tour because it presents a unique and fun opportunity to experience the best of Florence and Italy. Special thanks to Chef Carmela who shared the art of real Italian cooking, and to our tour guide Gloria whose eminent knowledge and fun-loving demeanor made the day all the more enjoyable. Thanks for a very memorable day!
Tour was great. Would recommend to anyone (adults) visiting Flirence. Martina, our guide was fabulous as were Chef Isaac and the rest of the staff at Walkabout tours. Highlight of our trip to Italy!
This was the highlight of our time in Italy! Our guides Olivia gave an excellent tour of Florence and market experience before heading out to the estate. We learned so much about Florence but also eating and drinking like an Italian. She and Gloria, along with the chefs were great teachers and so engaging! The food was amazing and we have already made one of the recipes that we learned! I would recommend to anyone going to Florence to make one day for this tour!
We had the best time ever on this tour! It was our favorite day of our entire two week European trip and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Carmella, Elisa, and Valeria were the absolute best tour guides and made the experience incredible for us! We loved them so much and the food we made was so amazing! I cannot wait to get the recipes for everything! We would recommend this tour to anyone we know going to Florence. Thank you for an amazing day, ladies! P.S. our pizza professionals were incredible, as well! The man's name was Ludivico, but I do not remember the women's name. Thank you thank you!
We loved this cooking class and it was probably the best thing we did in Italy. Gloria is such a wonderful guide. She's friendly and warm and she's got a great sense of humor. My mom went with me and she talked about it long after. I highly recommend! It's well-worth the money!
This is a MUST do for your list while in Florence. Worth every penny! The view from the farm house in Tuscany alone was worth the price of admission for this tour! If it were possibly to give this tour 6 stars! We would! Our guide for the day was a wonderful and delightful young woman named Gloria! We all quickly fell in love with her! What a gentle and caring spirit! I am hesitant to tell what all the tour entails as I don't want to spoil anybody's experience! You will have so much fun you will laugh till your sides hurt! Half the fun will be at your own expense! And the other fum will be from your tour guide and Chef Carmella! The memories at the end of the day will carry you a life time!
Thank you Gloria for being such a great host for the day!
