Great day trip in Venice.
Great tour of Venice, even if it was just for a few hours. The tour guide was knowledgeable, thorough, patient, and friendly.
We are so happy we went on this tour! You have to see Venice, right? It was very hot, and it was very expensive to eat close to the San Marco Piazza. Our guide, Allessando, warned us of this. He was very knowledgeable and informative...
Great informative tour. Enjoyed our time learning so much about Venice. Our guide was great and our driver Francesco was great! was very accommodating to our time schedule and gave great information on our drive.
Well, I wouldn't do this tour again. Too long of a day and not enough time to see and explore Venice. We took the bus from Florence a few hours then the metro then the train then the water taxi which was fun however no info along the way. The tour in Venice was good however my headphones had no power only 10 minutes in and she didn't have another so I had to walk very close to the guide to hear anything. The glass blowing was very cool! We did have time for a gondola ride which was of course a highlight. We didn't have time to go into the church. The line was too long and we had to get back to our meeting place to start the journey home. We also didn't have much time to walk around and explore. Next time we will take the high speed train there and then either book a tour there so we'd have more time to see everything or just do our own thing and explore.
The tour itself was amazing! However,we were with a group of sudents who were not interested in being there they did not listen to the guide and chatted while the guide was explaining various aspects of the city, so that the other tour members were not able to hear. I realize that we were put together with this student group, however, we should have had another guide. Speaking of the guid he smoked incessantly. As a nonsomoker, I found this a bit irritatingHe also said if we were not punctual at meeeting points that he would leave without us. Really! I paid a godd amount of money for this tour and was left with a bitter taste in my mouth regarding Viator.
The tour was fine for what it was, but I wouldn't recommend seeing Venice this way. It took forever to get there take a high speed train instead and then we didn't have much time to look around before we had to meet up with the group to go back. Most of the time was spent driving. Also, we couldn't go too far from the main square because we might get lost and miss the ride back.
Venice was beautiful. Unfortunately our tour group was combined with a student group so we had 50 people with one tour guide. Not sure if there was a mix-up or if there was a no show with one of the guides we werent told anything but it was difficult to hear the guide and keep up with him as he rushed from place to place. Would recommend keeping the group under 20 people to make it easier to get everything done and also work out a little more free time for everyone.
I regret to tell you that I fell ill when I reached Florence. I went to the ER twice and was robbed of about 800 dollars and Euros. I left my phone is the cab to the air port on 9/7/2016 and an still attempting to get it back from Albatravel. They have it but just keep dinking around. While Viator was wonderful with all my tours, the trip was a disaster.
