My sister and I took this tour and absolutely loved it. Our guide Jeanette probably not the Italian spelling, sorry, she was just gorgeous and so informative, not only about the produce sold in the market but also great tips on how the locals use the different ingredients to prepare meals etc. She had a wonderful passion for food and cooking. We had a tasting of truffles, oils, balsamic vinegars and biscotti. We had a small group of 7 from Australia and Canada and we all spoke English, so great fun. Our chef Tony made our class very enjoyable and we cant wait to get home and try all the new recipes we learnt. Sat with the group to enjoy the spoils of our labor together with a glass of wine. Would highly recommend this tour for something different.

Thoroughly enjoyed the day - wonderful and vibrant market to shop for all our ingredients and a fun and informative lesson. Were able to roll up our sleeves and do all the cooking ourselves - followed by a lovely time eating all our cooking with a great fun group of people...and a lot of red wine!!
What fun! The visit to the local market showed an amazing array of all different kinds of foods, and we did a tasting of balsamic vinegars and olive oils...wonderful! Then we walked to the cooking school, where Giacomo guided us in preparing a wonderful three course meal that consisted of bruschetta, pasta made by us with a large encrusted meatball, and some sort of delicious dessert! The group only had six people in it and the kitchen was a large professional one, so we all had a hands on experience. Great tour for those who like to cook - and eat!
We had a wonderful experience on this tour. The time in the market was enjoyable, especially the special tasting we had at one of the shops. Our chef was with us and we purchased many of the ingredients that we used later in the cooking class. The class was lively and fun and everyone got to participate in creating the wonderful Tuscan meal that we prepared. We all then sat down in the lovely area downstairs and were served the meal, along with wine. It was definitely a highlight of our trip to Italy.
WOW, First of all we were met by our chef Alessandro who took us for a tour of the markets in Florence, we got to sample so many different things, fruits so fresh, biscuits, oils, balsamic vinegars truffles and so much more!! After that we walked to the kitchen were we all cooked up a 3 course meal, then sat down in a beautifully decorated room and were served our meal with a wine to accompany each course, what else could we ask for. Our chef was also amazing. I would highly recommend this tour and if ever I am lucky enough to go back to Florence I will definitely do it all over again, it was the best!!!

We had a friendly group, and enjoyed our meal that we had made.
This was a terrific activity! Our group was only 4 people and we started with a tour of the San Lorenzo market. Walter was very knowledgeable and we got to taste various balsamic vinegars and truffle products. After the tour, we walked back to the kitchen and started cooking. We made bruschetta, fettucine with truffle sauce, meatloaf and panna cotta with strawberry sauce for dessert. Walter explained all the steps to us so it will be easy to make everything again. We also got a booklet with the recipes. I definitely recommend doing this!
So good and it was so fun to go through the market and get our food. Walter was a wonderful guide.
Our final result was a delicious meal that we actually did ourselves!
