Why Travelers Choose This Tour
Climb as high as you want on this special-access tour, from exclusive terraces to the very top of the Duomo.
Meet your guide at Florence’s Piazza della Repubblica. With your skip-the-line ticket in hand, make your way past the general entrance lines outside Florence Duomo, and head inside the famous place of worship.
Also known as the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Duomo is one of the world’s largest churches. Hear fun facts about its history as you admire Paolo Uccello’s clock and frescoes by Giorgio Vasari.
Next, you’ll head up the staircase, making your way through corridors that have been off-limits to the public for centuries. When you reach the top, you’ll be rewarded with views over the city from the terraces—more than 100 feet (32 meters) above ground level. Hear how Brunelleschi created the dome without the use of scaffolding, a feat that defied the traditional rules of architecture.
If you want to climb even higher, then head up to the top of Brunelleschi’s Dome. Your skip-the-line ticket gives you access to the vantage point at the highest level of the church.
Your tour finishes inside the church, but you can stay inside for longer if you like. Your ticket also grants access to the Great Museum of the Cathedral, Florence Baptistery, the Great Museum of the Duomo, and Giotto’s Bell Tower. Attractions must be visited within 48 hours of your tour.
We took the Sky Walk tour that climbed to the top of the dome. We paused at various levels to catch our breath and observe the architecture and the huge frescoes inside the dome. The guide was very knowledgeable and gave us insight to the history of Florence and the church. The highlight was the view across the city from the top of the dome. Very nice.
What a beautiful time inside the Duomo. Riccardo, our tour guide, was both passionate and fun and gave us many great tips and views as we toured. The view from above, both inside and out, was fantastic! What an amazing structure. Worth the time and money. Great panoramic view of Florence.
This is one of the best tours my wife and I have ever done, we are 55 plus and we knew it would be a climb . Our guide Ricardo was amazing , he took control ,set a pace we and the children on the tour could handle, continually checking to make sure we were going ok.Very refreshing to meet a younger person so passionate and proud of his Florence and its history. He was a wealth of knowledge and encouraged people to ask questions and answered them in a clear understanding manner.Could not recommend this tour and guide highly enough .5star tour and guide
It was easy to find the tour booth, and the guide was very nice, knowledgeable, and she was able to answer all our questions. The group was about 24 people, and there were 400+ stairs in sometimes a very small, steep and crowded space. This is not a tour for those with a serious fear of heights. The ticket also provides entry into the baptistry and the museum/crypt. Highly recommend!
The tour of the cathedral and the duomo skywalk was amazing. We learned so much from our tour guide! I love that she was an art historian and could give us such rich and varied details about the architecture, the dating, the interior, the politics and the church history! The walk up was not as intense as I feared, there were several stops along the way, inside and out. The view from the top was spectacular! Highly recommended!
