Overview

Discover Pisa and the picturesque Cinque Terre on this day trip departing from Florence. Snap a photo with the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa before heading to the coast to see the seaside villages of the Italian Riviera. There, travel through the pink- and yellow-hued towns of the Cinque Terre, a World Heritage Site. Explore the beaches, try the local cuisine (own expense) and wander the charming cobblestone streets. This excursion is open to travelers between 18 and 45 years old, and includes your train transportation.
  • Full-day trip to Pisa and the Cinque Terre from Florence, with train transport included
  • See Pisa’s top sights, including the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Duomo, with free time at the Field of Dreams
  • Discover the UNESCO-listed Cinque Terre with an expert guide
  • Wander along Riomaggiore’s historical streets and admire the pastel buildings that lean against each other
  • Relax on the beach or cool off with a swim in Vernazza
Your trip will begin at the Santa Maria Novella train station in Florence, where you’ll meet your guide. Then hop aboard and enjoy the 1-hour train ride from Florence to Pisa.

Once there, head to Piazza dei Miracoli with your guide, where you’ll find the Duomo, the Baptistery and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Enjoy 1.5 hours to explore these top attractions independently.

Afterward, return to the train station to head toward La Spezia, switching trains toward Riomaggiore just over an hour later. Here you’ll enter the beloved Cinque Terre, comprising five villages along the Italian Riviera.

Hop off to stroll the charming streets with your guide. The buildings along each fishing village are brilliantly colored in pinks, yellows and blues and make a stunning backdrop for your photos.

Continue by train to the village of Manarola, which is rumored to have more grapevines than any other Cinque Terre town. Check out the harbor before heading to your final stop, the village of Vernazza. Here you can enjoy time to explore on your own, jumping into the waters of the Riviera or taking in some rays at the beach.

After a full day of exploration, travel back to Florence by train, where your tour concludes.

This was an amazing day trip with a great guide! We got to go and visit multiple towns in Cinque Terre by walking and train. Our guide gave great suggestions for places to go, food and drinks. We swam in the sea and enjoyed seeing the coastal towns. Really good fun!

I loved the fact that I was able to see so much in one day. Be prepared for fast-paced train travel though. If you like to linger this is not the tour for you. The guides were prompt, professional and informative.

Our tour with Lorenzo was great. I must mention that this tour is not for people who want to spend several hours at each spot. We spent a little over an hour at each city in Cinque Terre and about an hour and 30 minutes at Piza. This tour also involves a lot of trains so if you aren’t open for an adventure using the best transportation Italy has to offer, this isn’t for you! Anyways, Lorenzo was great. Had lots of good info for the group and was very good at leading a large group of people. Overall, it was a long day but we really enjoyed it and were happy we were able to see some key sites during our visit to Florence. Thanks Lorenzo! You are awesome! Come visit California!!!

Pierce was a great tour leader. He got us around easily and quickly. There was a big delay with one of the trains, and Pierce confirmed with the group that we would skip the second town to have more time in the last time. He was very apologetic, which he didnt need to be as it wasn't his fault. Very good tour! You get to Pisa early enough that it is not busy at all!

This trip was well worth the time and money. The guides were wonderful; very organized, knowledgeable and stayed on schedule. The time could have been a little longer in some of Cinque Terre’s Towns but it gave a great overview to the area. Highly recommend.

Our guide Pierce did a great job getting us from Florence, to Pisa and Cinque Terra. There are a lot if logistic but the trip went without a hitch. Peirce filled in details at each stop and made sure we did not miss the highlights.
