What To Expect

Make your own way to the centrally located office to meet your professional chef-guide before your afternoon or evening tour starts.

Transfer by minibus to a private estate situated in the hills above Florence. Start your culinary experience with a tasting of a traditional focaccia appetizer accompanied by a glass of Chianti wine. Soak in views of the rolling hills as your instructor shares the backstory of Italy's famous foods: pizza and gelato.

Next your chef-instructor shows you how to make pizza dough, and explains regional variations. After preparing the dough, select the topping ingredients that you like from the assortment of fresh vegetables harvested from the estate gardens. Your pizza is then baked traditional-style in the wood oven. When ready, sit down to enjoy your pizza accompanied by wine or beer.

For dessert, learn to make a creamy gelato that can be accompanied by toppings and sauces. Your instructor provides recipes for the pizza and gelato so that you can make them at home.

Your culinary experience ends with a return trip to your starting point in Florence.

Traveler Tips

The entire class is on a beautiful terrace overlooking the Tuscan countryside, so don't forget a camera!
There is a lot of stairs and cobble roads but every step is worth it!
Winter cold is no problem at all, as it is all done indoors (except of course for the wood fire oven).

An absolute must while you're in Florence!
maryross2, Jan 2023
My daughter & I had such a blast doing this entertaining class. This was definitely the highlight of our visit to Florence. The instructors are hilarious and keep everyone laughing as we prepped and cooked. We had a quick gelato demonstration using liquid nitrogen that had Bill Nye - the Science Guy vibes. From making our "baby" balls of dough to tossing our "baby" in the air, we were able to make really good wood fired pizzas. The gelato making was fun too. We worked in teams and sampled 9 different gelato flavors. This is a class that all skill levels can enjoy. I think it would be a good team building event for businesses. I can't say enough good things about this class. The setting was spectacular as well. We loved it and plan on doing it again in May with the rest of our family.
Perfect day in Tuscany with a 6 year old

Arla, Tiziano and Gloria were the highlight of our trip to Florence. The best day of our trip was watching my 6 year old son enjoy this class. We will definitely make it a tradition every time we return to Italy! Thank you for a lovely day even in the rain!
Enjoyed by all!!!

Amazing day of pizza and gelato in Firenze!
Reva_L, Jan 2023
We had an amazing time on this tour! The farmhouse was beautiful with a gorgeous view and the guides were truly amazing! It was so much fun to learn all about how to make the gelato as well as make our own pizzas. I would definitely recommend taking this tour if you are in Florence! You won’t regret it!
Food, Fun and View

Thank you Lovina, Arla and Titiono for making this such a fun experience. Great gelato and the pizza was the best I’ve had so far during my travels. Lovely setting and beautiful view.
Incredible experience!

We had an incredible time with Arla, Tiziano, and Gloria. They were entertaining and patient, and we had a blast with the class! Transportation was easy and convenient, and the location had a great view of the city. I'd highly recommend this to anyone visiting Florence.
Fabulous evening learning to cook and having fun!!
Karen_H, Jan 2023
The Chefs were fun, engaging and friendly. Levinia was wonderful and explained everything so thoroughly. She set a great ambiance for the entire evening. Arla and Tiziano were fabuous! They were informative and entertaining and made the evening hands-on. The location was unbeatable! The views, incredible! The details were all organized and coordinated. The evening was so much better than we expected, having been on other tours. And the food was AMAZING! Highly recommend to all ages visiting Florence!
Great experience! Highly recommend if you have an extra day in Florence

Very very fun experience! The instructors were very fun and engaging, had a great dynamic between them and the guests. The property is beautiful and very short drive (provided) from the pickup point. While we were busy the whole time and think it was great, I misunderstood we would be cooking the first course. When we arrived the focaccia was already served, would've liked a little explanation of the differences and why you'd have both focaccia and pizza in the same meal. Come light! there are chairs but you're not in one space all the time, so moving your coat and bags can get in the way!
Magical

This is an amazing tour and one you cannot afford to miss. Drive only 15 minutes from Florence central into the Tuscan Hills by coach. Greeted with a Chianti Red wine and focaccia as you overlook the Tuscan hillside. Then learn about how gelato is made before preparing your own preferred gelato (there's about a dozen flavours to choose from) with your partner before setting aside. Then with another Chianti red wine in hand, learn about how to make and prepare dough before doing it yourself. You don't actually eat the dough you prepare (due to time needed for the dough to rise) but you do get to turn their pre-prepared dough into a pizza and then add the sauce and a choice of about a dozen toppings yourself to then put in the wood fired over and eat! The dining room has large glass windows overlooking the Tuscan hillside. Plenty of Chianti red wine bottles on the table to accompany your own pizza. After dinner, the gelato is ready to eat. Try your own as well as the other flavours others have made. You will not need dinner - the food is a plenty. The hosts (Max, Tiziano and Arla) were all hilarious, highly knowledge and went about and beyond to ensure we all had a wonderful time. This truly was a magical experience due to the concept (making pizza and gelato, location (Tuscan hillside) and most of all the hosts we had. Thank you for a once in a lifetime experience. Amazing time
Khanh_H, Jan 2023
One of the best tour experiences we have taken. The hosts were very informative, friendly, and entertaining. As it indicates in the description, this tour isn’t recommended for those with walking disabilities. You will be required to walk to the bus for pick up, walk from the bus to the farmhouse (which requires stairs), and when the tour is over, you are required to walk the distance back to the bus which includes those stairs you went down. As you will feast on pizza, gelato and wine, the trek back up those stairs may not be as easy! All fun if you are physically able.

Repeat Customer and another great experience!
James_B, Jan 2023
This is one of the best cooking class experiences we have ever done! My family took this same class in December 2019 and we decided to do it again with our larger group of family and friends when we visited in December 2022. It was just as good as I remembered and everyone had a great time thanks to Gloria the gelato chef, and Arlo/Emilano the pizza chefs. I highly recommend this class for adults and kids and a truly memorable experience in the Tuscan hills!

Great pizza and gelato cooking class
Brandon_P, Jan 2023
Our whole family absolutely loved this pizza and gelato cooking class. The Tuscan farmhouse property was beautiful and was a short ride (maybe 15 minutes) from the pickup location. The pizza, gelato and wine were all delicious. The hosts were both informative and very funny. Everyone in our family, ages ranging from 12 - 45, loved this class!

Pizza, Gelato, Memories for a lifetime!
Tonya_G, Dec 2022
We had the most amazing time on this tour. I know a lot of people have said, “don’t read on, just book!” Well, I fully agree with that sentiment. The beauty of the estate alone is worth the visit to this beautiful “farm”. I say “farm” because this is no Old McDonald farm, it is a gorgeous estate tucked in the hills above Florence. Beyond that, the instructors were amazing! Everything we did was started with a demonstration, followed by doing everything ourselves. This was a fantastic hands on tour that wasn’t intimidating. It also helped that the wine and water were flowing all evening. Note: There are 3 of us traveling together ages: 14, 45, 77. We all enjoyed the tour immensely. There is a steep walk with stairs to arrive at the farm. Please be aware of that in case you have mobile issues. Lastly, I left my bag at the farm. The staff was amazing with helping me get it back.

Exceeded Expectations...Bravo!
Shawn_K, Dec 2022
Daddy daughter trip from Florida. This event created an absolutely memorable and positive impression on my daughter's first overseas trip that will last a lifetime, leaving her with the desire to immerse herself in different cultures and explore the world. A seemingly trivial experience with a lifelong impression. The event exceeded expectations for someone with a critical view and was dialed in perfectly. Well done!
