Make your own way to the centrally located office to meet your professional chef-guide before your afternoon or evening tour starts.
Transfer by minibus to a private estate situated in the hills above Florence. Start your culinary experience with a tasting of a traditional fettunta (toast with toppings) appetizer accompanied by a glass of Chianti wine. Soak in views of the rolling hills as your instructor shares the backstory of Italy's famous foods: pizza and gelato.
Next your chef-instructor shows you how to make pizza dough, and explains regional variations. After preparing the dough, select the topping ingredients that you like from the assortment of fresh vegetables harvested from the estate gardens. Your pizza is then baked traditional-style in the wood oven. When ready, sit down to enjoy your pizza accompanied by wine or beer.
For dessert, learn to make a creamy gelato that can be accompanied by toppings and sauces. Your instructor provides recipes for the pizza and gelato so that you can make them at home.
Your culinary experience ends after five hours with return to your starting point in Florence.

This was one of the best experiences I had in Italy.. Had an amazing time learning to make pizza and gelato from scratch. The chefs we knowledgeable and made learning fun!
Transport to the location from the meeting point was a bit delayed as they had difficulty finding Taxis. But otherwise HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
There was only so much precious art and ruins that our eyes could take, so we decided to change it up a bit with the Pizza and Gelato Cooking Class and so glad we did. These three guys, Enrico, Luca and Cris are professionals. Not only do they teach the how to's, but they are warm and very entertaining. Enrico, Luca and Cris and the staff work their tails off to ensure your experience. If you don't have a great time and an exceptional experience, it's your own fault.
One of the best tours we have done. Luca was very entertaining. The whole group were extremely nice, sincere and fun.
Best pizza and gelato we had during our stay in Italy! The group of 16 was welcomed at the house with a glass of wine and bruschetta. First, we learned about the intricacies of making gelato including selecting the right ingredients, accurate measuring, and the chemistry behind it all. Each pair selected and prepared a flavor. We also had the added delight of witnessing the chef prepare a batch using liquid nitrogen.
Next, we met the pizza chefs by the outdoor brick oven. The warmth was welcome on this rainy day. They talked about the dough as the pizza maker's baby and carried that metaphor through the whole process. Using a variety of toppings, each person created their own pizza for dinner.
Dinner was at long tables where we had a chance to meet and socialize with the rest of the group. After pizza and wine, the gelato was brought out and we were able to try multiple flavors. They even made suggestions for toppings, for example adding sage and salt to the hazelnut. I wouldn't have thought to try such a combination, but was glad they recommended it because it was delicious.
The evening was full of fun, learning, and wonderful hospitality. This is a must-do tour!
Florence is beautiful but going up into the countryside was magnificent! The pizza and gelato making was terrific and the grounds are beautiful. The only downside was it is partially outside when pizza making and it unfortunately rained and was a little cold. Even with the rain and cold we would definitely do it again as the experience , hosts and grounds were amazing!
My teenagers 13 and 15 my 22 year old daughter her boyfriend and my husband and I loved it, one of our highlights of our trip. Everyone helping out with the class were the ones that made the class so much fun! Our pizza and gelato were delish!
Such a great experience! Totally organized and delightfully fun! A must do while you are in Florence!!
This was a highlight of our trip! Firstly, Max, Lucca and Enrico were excellent teachers and entertaining. We each made a pizza which we are for dinner and shared all the gelato flavors for dessert. The wine flowed and the view was priceless.
The entire experience was fantastic. We really liked how the gelato prep and Pizza making was coordinated so the entire evening never got boring. The gelato and pizza masters were informative and engaging. They were extremely interactive with the guests and hilarious which the evening so fun.
This was one of my favorite tours on the recent Easter holiday. I had a fantastic time learning to make gelato and pizza. The chefs were a lot of fun and very informative The food was amazing. It is a wonderful way to spend the evening with friends or meeting new friends and enjoying some wine, pizza, and gelato. I recommended this tour to several people I met while in Florence. Still waiting to get my recipes from that night. I cannot wait to try what I learned at home.
