Why Travelers Choose This Tour

This gourmet cooking class pairs two Italian favorites with scenery that beats any restaurant.

Make your own way to the centrally located office to meet your professional chef-guide before your afternoon or evening tour starts.

Transfer by minibus to a private estate situated in the hills above Florence. Start your culinary experience with a tasting of a traditional fettunta (toast with toppings) appetizer accompanied by a glass of Chianti wine. Soak in views of the rolling hills as your instructor shares the backstory of Italy's famous foods: pizza and gelato.

Next your chef-instructor shows you how to make pizza dough, and explains regional variations. After preparing the dough, select the topping ingredients that you like from the assortment of fresh vegetables harvested from the estate gardens. Your pizza is then baked traditional-style in the wood oven. When ready, sit down to enjoy your pizza accompanied by wine or beer.

For dessert, learn to make a creamy gelato that can be accompanied by toppings and sauces. Your instructor provides recipes for the pizza and gelato so that you can make them at home.

Your culinary experience ends after five hours with return to your starting point in Florence.

This cooking class was the highlight of our trip to Italy. Luca and Lavinia do a fantastic job. They are both extremely well-trained, personable, and helpful. We learned so much and had a blast doing it! You can’t beat an afternoon of delicious food nestled in the hills of Tuscany. Luca is sure to keep you laughing your entire visit and Lavinia taught us so much about gelato... her passion is contagious! Great for families or couples alike. Consider this a must-do!

If you want to laugh and laugh and eat delicious food prepared in a gorgeous setting then this cooking class is for you! Luca and Angela were our chefs who skillfully guided us in the art of making pizza and gelato! We learned the secrets behind making these famous Italian foods and then feasted on both. Recipes will be mailed to participants so we can recreate this deliciousness back home. The ride to the farmhouse is scenic and beautiful and the experience truly memorable. Definitely a highlight of our time in Italy!

My roommate and I spent 2.5 weeks traveling around Italy, including Rome, Florence, Milan, and the Cinque Terre. We booked numerous tours and classes through Viator. Hands down, this was our FAVORITE! This class was definitely the best experience we had in Italy! Lavinia and Matteo were both amazing! They were nice, personable, attentive, kind, and friendly. Matteo kept us laughing the entire time. Lavi was running around making sure everything ran smoothly and flawlessly (which it did). They also kept the wine pouring the entire time! This class was really fun and I highly recommend it! I can't wait to return to Florence and take this class again! Thank you, Matteo and Lavi!!!

One of the best experiences I had on this trip! It was well organized. Beautiful setting. Max and Luca were educational, hilarious, and engaging. We really did learn a lot about pizza and gelato. The pizza we made was probably the best I had on this trip. The gelato was amazing too and Max added some unique flavors and toppings. I can’t wait to try making this at home! Thank you!!

Pick-up by shuttle bus was easy, if not a little hard to find. Walk after drop off was a bit longer than we thought it would be. Area of the hillside rural area was beautiful and scenic. Group received wine and an appetizer before heading to our gelato and pizza making classes. The instructions on how to first make the gelato and pizza were far more actual lessons with various instruments and tools than I thought it would be; which was great. Only complaint about the gelato making was the constant noise from the kitchen personnel washing the myriad dishes while we tried hard to listen and understand the chef made it hard to hear. The two areas should be separated more. The food was great and we all had a fun evening eating our creations and drinking wine. Our teachers/chefs were also much fun. Still haven't received our promised recipes, however.

I would fly back to Florence just to do this again. The property has unparalleled views. You start by walking through their vegetable garden and choosing ingredients for pizza. Then you learn how to make a proper dough. I was a decent pizza maker, but Matteo really upped my game. The gelato part was great fun, with everyone making a different flavor and everyone tasting them all. Got to play with liquid nitrogen as we..
