Make your own way to the centrally located office to meet your professional chef-guide before your afternoon or evening tour starts.
Transfer by minibus to a private estate situated in the hills above Florence. Start your culinary experience with a tasting of a traditional fettunta (toast with toppings) appetizer accompanied by a glass of Chianti wine. Soak in views of the rolling hills as your instructor shares the backstory of Italy's famous foods: pizza and gelato.
Next your chef-instructor shows you how to make pizza dough, and explains regional variations. After preparing the dough, select the topping ingredients that you like from the assortment of fresh vegetables harvested from the estate gardens. Your pizza is then baked traditional-style in the wood oven. When ready, sit down to enjoy your pizza accompanied by wine or beer.
For dessert, learn to make a creamy gelato that can be accompanied by toppings and sauces. Your instructor provides recipes for the pizza and gelato so that you can make them at home.
Your culinary experience ends after five hours with return to your starting point in Florence.
Loved this class! The farmhouse up in the hills affords spectacular views of Florence. After touring the garden to choose ingredients, we made gelato about 12 flavours in all and then turned our hands to pizza dough. Tossing it without dropping it is certainly a skill! The range of toppings was amazing, and the pizzas were delicious! So were the gelatos! We tasted all of them for dessert. YUM!!! The piece de resistance was the gelato made with liquid nitrogen, a la Heston. Many thanks to Massimiliano, Leonardo and Mauro for their passion, humour and a wonderful evening!

Massimiliano, Leonardo and Mauro were the best. I was alone on this tour but no issues with that. The Tuscan villa setting, the organic garden, the wine, the cooking was all fantastic. I can’t wait to return to Florence and take this tour again.

This was one of several excursions that I wen on in Italy but it was by far the most fun. Learning how to make gelato and pizza was made even more enjoyable by the very fun loving and personable staff. I would recommend this cooking class to anyone going to Italy!
Enrico, Tiziano and Mauro were amazing! We made the BEST pizza and gelato you’ll get in Florence - make no mistake - and we had so much fun! We only had a short ride to the farmhouse which was GORGEOUS (photo opp). Learned so much and have recipes now to make at home! My mom and I loved this class!
Exceptional experience and probably one of my favorite tours. Everyone involved was friendly, professional, and inviting. We searched the garden for veggies for our pizza, then entered this wonderful open air kitchen where we made our gelato and learned about the dough process. We eventually stretched out our own dough and topped it off with fresh tomato sauces, cheese, meats, and vegetables! It cooked in a real outdoor wood-burning oven! Of course, we celebrated our time with a delicious pizza dinner, overlooking the beautiful Tuscan hills. Does it get any better than this?

This is a must if you are visiting Florence! We were in Italy for our honeymoon i.e. Venice, Florence, Rome, and Positano and this was undoubtedly one of our most favorite memories of the trip. Enrico, Tiziano and Mauro were so nice, knowledgeable and fun. It felt like we were drinking wine and preparing dinner with an extended Italian family. You won't regret taking this class, and it's an unbelievable value. Do it! :
