I was very happy with our tour of the Accademia gallery. Our guide was able to help us distill down this very large museum so that in a reasonable time we could understand which were the most significant pieces. He also help us place these pieces into context in the history of the world and of Italy. And of course, we were able to skip the line.
There's no other way to go see David except by tour. You'll understand what I mean when you look at the crowds outside, the lines to get in and the peoples faces who aren't doing a tour. The tour guides are professionals who maneuver groups through the museum with a minimum of bother, making the visit as pleasant as can be expected. Our guide was very very good, but I would expect the others to have the same level of professionialism. You're greeted outside, organized, lined up, moved to the proper location to enter. My wife's headset unfortunately stopped working not once, but twice. Bad luck, but the guide had additional headsets and she kept things moving. again with a minimum of fuss. My wife and I have excellent memories of our visit, it's more than worth the cost of doing the tour. And you can't miss seeing David!
OUtsanding...no line, wonderful highly educated guide...wouldn't do it any other way.
Great experience. Our Guide was so knowledgeable. There wasn't a single question the group threw at her that he didn't respond in a detailed manner.
Many reviewers have noted that this tour is incredible, and it is. The opportunity to see the David with an experienced art historian/guide was exceptional, our guide was fantastic and gave a lot of insight related to all the works of art that are present in the Academia, however, the change to skip the 2 hour line and see the David with a guide was incredible
Perfect tour in regards to content and length. Not to much walking and our guide explained everything in detail about the Statue of David, which is obviously the main event of this tour. Well done!
Our tour of Accademia Gallery was a highlight of our three days in Florence. In fact, we had all been to the Gallery in years past the slow way. This was a much better, faster, and more informative way to see David and the highlights. We particularly enjoyed visiting the musical instruments and learning about their history. Caf personnel were on site when we arrived at the door specified on our voucher printout. We went in right on time and moved through the gallery listening on a headset to our very informative and considerate guide. The time spent on the tour was just about right. Thanks Caf for a great experience and thank you Viator for once more making it simple for me to impress my travel companions.
The Accademia stands on its own and is not to be missed, but it is the tour guide and ease of entry that is critical. Skip the line is the way to go! Our guide on this tour had a depth of knowledge in both history and art which was impressive. Jim and Grace
This is worth every penny: skipping the line AND hearing all about Michelangelo, his sculptures, and the history behind everything. Tour guide was very knowledgable. You will be glad you spent the money to learn about this, rather than just look at the art.
Worth visiting this Gallery even if you do not visit another in Florence, especially with a knowledgeable guide.
Michelangelos 'David'...what else can be said. You turn the corner in this very unassuming building that was once a convent and there he stands. It was the most amazing site to see. The tour guide was knowledgeable but a bit pushy. We were able to stay after the tour was over to enjoy at our leisure. The wait was long to enter but well worth it. Don't settle for the replica...take this tour and see the masterpiece in person. We went in July 2016.
Great tour, the tour guide was brilliant. She gave loads of information about the gallery, the art, history and Florence. Some great tips about what else to see and do, the tour was actually over 2 hours long but seemed a lot shorter as everything was so interesting and the stories she told us really brought the Medici family to life. There was only 5 of us and I would not hesitate to do this tour again!
Our guide went above and beyond. We learned more than I expected to! Our guide was very funny as well. Her insight was amazing and to not have to wait in line, was a great experience. Saves so much time in a city where there is so much to see!
As we waited for our tour we saw the excellent guide we had at the Uffizi the day before. Sadly, we were not in his group. Our guide, I think her name was something like Fredrica or Francesca, was superb.
Another great trip made very special by memorable by your excellent guide.
Very knowledgeable guide in Helga! Paying extra to skip the long lines in the summer months was definitely worth the price.
This tour was just the right length of time. Our guide took us around the museum and explained several areas and works of art. I never felt rushed or like we lingered in one area too long. It was a good value, especially to skip the lines because they were crazy long and it was very hot outside.
Wonderful guide. Disappointed that we still had to wait in line for 30 minutes.
Amazing! A MUST SEE when in Florence. The David is ah inspiring- the prisoners are fascinating. This museum was a highlight of our trip. Friendly and knowledgable guide.
