If you have pretty much any level riding experience, you will definitely enjoy this tour. There were a couple of places of steep climbs, but mostly downhill back into Florence. It was about 15 miles mostly through Tuscany. The sites were amazing. Before even getting on the bikes, we toured a 12th century monastery in Fiesole where monks still live today. It turned out that my wife, two sons and I were the only ones in our group so we had a private tour. Our tour guide, Giovanni, was great. Very engaging, personable and answered any questions we had. You could tell he really enjoyed doing these bike rides. We even got to meet his father once we got to the starting point of the ride. All of us agreed this was the highlight of all the tours we did in Rome, Florence, Bologna and Venice.
This was one of our trip highlights. Beautiful views, great guide and the tour through Florence at the end was perfect. Highly recommend this company
This was the highlight of our vacation in Italy. Giovanni is very nice, knowledgeable and is an excellent guide. He made sure to stop for water breaks and in general was great about making sure everyone was safe and was having a great time. He took us to parts of the countryside that you couldn't generally see from a bus tour or otherwise. It was beautiful to see the landscape, the many olive trees and vineyards. Absolutely gorgeous! The ride is not very strenuous, maybe only 2-3 slight uphill climbs for about 2 or 3 minutes at most. Wonderful activity to do while in Florence to get away from the busy center.
Coach is professional. Bike is not so comfortable because the road condition is no good. Kids have to be careful. The view is excellent. You can review the traditional life the residential remaining for more than hundred years ago.
This was a marvelous experience, and gives a first hand, up front look at Fiesole, italy. Giovanni is the perfect guide/host, and takes good care of everyone. He provided bikes that were solid, easy to ride and in good shape. He's a local to this area, and gives a brick by brick narrative of where you are and what you are seeing. Nice blend of history and current day discussion. You do not need to be a 225 year old Olympic cyclist to do this, as most of it is flat or downhill, although there is enough gentle uphill to make it challenging for some -- Being in good shape aerobically helps a lot. No matter, we enjoyed everything we saw, felt this experience was great value, and so much more real than just a bus ride around the countryside. Castles, farms, how the locals live, everything else up close and personal. Loved it. Linda and Matt, Glendale, CA
