What You Can Expect

Taste of Chianti: Tuscan Cheese, Wine and Lunch from Florence

Enjoy the wine that the Chianti has to offer

Meet your guide in central Florence and hop aboard an air-conditioned, 4x4 minibus. Watch the city streets transform into the rolling hillside of Chianti, lined with vineyards and olive groves.

Your first stop of the day is at a winery belonging to one of the most prominent Italian families. Taste three wines paired with cheese and two olive oils, and enjoy a guided tour of the historic wine cellars. Travel to the olivemill through the villa's underground tunnels, as well as to the garden.

Afterward, head to a Tuscan restaurant and settle down for a 3-course meal, including regional specialties such as two different types of fresh pasta and two glasses of fine Chianti wine. (See the Itinerary for a sample menu).

Continue to the charming town of Greve-in-Chianti, where the Chianti Classico wine festival is held each year. Pick up a selection of typical salumi (cured meats) from one of Italy’s most famous butchers to enjoy later at the second winery.

Enjoy the last of your afternoon at a small, award-winning winery that specializes in Chianti Classico wine. Hear about the winemaking process while sipping and swirling delicious varietals. Your tour will conclude with a ride back to Florence.

My husband and I absolutely loved this wine tour. The views were amazing and the wine was even better. Our guide, Martina, was very knowledgeable and personable. It was our favorite tour while in Italy!

Our guide, Martina was excellent, very informative and easy going. We had about 20 people on the tour and we were in a small bus (the description said 4x4 vehicle). I prefer smaller group tours but this worked out fine. We not only learned about wines but also about olive oils. The wineries were beautiful and not overly packed it’s other tours. Our wine pairings and meals/snacks were delicious. It’s a spectacular part of Italy.

My wife and I took this tour on our honeymoon to Florence and we can't say enough great things about it! Let's start with our amazing guide, Gloria. Not only is she extremely knowledgable about Tuscan food, wine, and culture, but she brings so much energy and excitement to the tour. I personally was not looking forward to the driving portions of the trip, but Gloria used this time to teach us all kinds of interesting things (in a very fun way). The sights during the drive were also incredible, so even the bus parts of the tour were extremely enjoyable. We then got to visit three wineries, where we toured the facilities, learned how the wine is made, and tasted three different wines. There were delicious traditional food pairings at each winery, including an amazing full lunch at the second winery. At each stop there was also plenty of time to explore on our own and buy/ship wines. We enjoyed all three wine tastings so much. The quality of the wine was excellent and the views of Tuscany were unbeatable. Do yourself a favor and book this tour if you find yourself near Florence!

Our tour guide Lavi was bubbly and extremely knowledgeable! We enjoyed amazing food, wine and views of the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Our trip to Italy would not have been the same without this tour. It is well worth the money for this experience! Thank you!

Lavi? Totally may be spelling that wrong. She was a great tour guide! Really upbeat. Tuscany was beautiful and winery were very nice. If you get car sick easily from winding roads, i do not reccomend this. I felt sick getting from A to B at times. Had to sit down to recoup a bit. Totally outside the control of tour company. Still was so worth it though !!

Absolutely amazing! Our tour guide, Martina, was very knowledgeable about the history of the region, as well as the history of the three wine vineyards we visited. The wine was amazing and the views were spectacular! Not to mention, lunch was delicious and nothing like we have had so far in our two weeks in Italy. After we visited the vineyards and before we headed back to Florence, we stopped in a cute little town to get gelato or do any last minute shopping. The trip was about 10 hours total but it was so worth it!

This tour was fantastic! We had a wonderful guide called Lavi who was so so knowledgeable about Chianti region - we learnt more on this trip than any other winery tour we have been on. The whole day was wonderful from the choice of wineries we went to, to the amazing traditional Tuscan lunch we enjoyed with views to die for. This was a truly unique days for us and I couldn't recommend it highly enough.
