We had such an amazing wine tour to some fantastic locations! Lunch was definitely a highlight as were the delicious Chianti wines. I covered our whole day with photographs.
I was just looking at these past reviews and didn't realize that we didn't post a review on this tour, the very best part of our time in Italy. We were there for our 10 year wedding anniversary and actually on this tour on our anniversary date - Oct. 7th. Words can't express the beauty of the Chianti region of Tuscany, truly breathtaking. Both wineries were very interesting and the lunch was soooo tasty, pair with wonderful wine. The size of the tour was perfect, the food was delicious, the wine, the small town of Greve, and our guide couldn't have been better. Enjoyable, specatacular, a long day and is a must do and worth every minute. We will cherish our wonderful memories of this day and this tour! BTW weather was perfect in Italy at this time.
Had so much fun on this tour! We went to five different wineries with tastings and appetizers in all, lunch in one of them. Lunch was absolutely amazing served family style. SO GOOD! The people were super friendly and really appreciated you being there. The views and photos taken from these sites were stunning! Makes you want to live there! I mean, who doesn't want to live in Italy! We saw wild boar, stopped in a cute little town for cappuccinos and munchies on the way back to Florence. The guide was so informative. She grew up in the region and new everything about it! We also watched at one of the wineries them pressing the grapes, the whole process. Beautiful day, we went in late September and the weather was great! Definitely would go back. Was our favorite place in Italy!
This was a great tour led by a guide who was clearly an expert and very passionate about wine and wine making she also was completely on top of the logistics of guiding 20 or so people around the countryside. The venues chosen for winery tours and lunch were very accommodating as well as picturesque.
We loved this full day trip from Florence. Food, wine, cheese and lunch were amazing. They even included olive oil tasting at the private vineyard where we had lunch. I would highly recommend this tour - excellent value and very well executed!
This tour was excellent. The tour guide was knowledgeable and personable. I have been to many wineries around the US and Australia but learned more on this tour that all the others. The big bonus was learning what good olive oil smells and tastes like. We had a bit of a bonus at the end of the day when we were able to attend a wine festival.
This tour was absolutely amazing. The views of the Tuscan countryside were beautiful and each vineyard we stopped at gave us in-depth explanations of their history and the processes used in making their wine. While we carrtainly got to try many wines, I found this tour was much more involved in explaining the wine making and olive oil processes, compared to wine tours in the US that we've taken that just want to inundate visitors with large glasses of wine. Almost everyone on our tour was in their 20's and 30's, so some of them complained a bit about the size of the tastings at each location. If you have interest in learning about Tuscan culture, wine making, olive oil making, all while eating delicious food and admiring the beautiful views, I highly recommend taking this tour. If your only goal is to get really drunk, I'd recommend just going to a bar.
Lavi was the best tour guide I have ever toured with. I highly recommend this tour. Whether you are on a first-time wine tour or you're a connoisseur you will enjoy this tour. It's for all types. Not only is it a beautiful and comfortable ride, it provides great wineries, delicious lunch in a gorgeous setting and plenty of history and knowledge. Lave was a blast to spend the day with, she kept it fun, full of education and made you feel at home. I attended this tour solo, not sure of what to expect and on my first trip to Florence - this was one of the best days of my entire vacation. I highly recommend this tour - try to get in Lavi's tour she is AMAZING!!
Really memorable experience to get into the heart of the Chianti classico region. Full of gems of locations!
Highly recommended. Breathtaking views of the Chianti countryside. The Wineries visited were well presented and the tastings were brilliant. Lunch at a lovely winery was excellent. And most of all the tour guide was exceptional. I think her name was Luvy
Our tour guide, Lavi, was wonderful. She explained both wine and olive oil making processes at the first winery and olive oil locations we visited. Between the first and second wineries 2nd was an organic winery, we had a selection of wonderful wines, olive oil and cheeses to sample. Later in the day, we stopped at a wonderful restaurant to enjoy more wine and food while overlooking the gorgeous Tuscan Hills. Finally, we stopped at Greve to do some shopping before proceeding back to Florence. It was so nice to learn about the Tuscany region and its rich history. All rolled together, was a great tour!
Fantastic trip. Very knowledgeable tour guide, great wine and great food.
Our guide Martina and her extensive knowledge of Italy, wine and olive oil paired with Nando's impeccable driving skills made for a terrific experience. The winery tours are impressive to say the least, the Tuscany countryside is simply stunning and our lunch so delicious we're still talking about it! I'm more of a beer guy, but when in Rome...
Lavi Lavinia, our tour guide 14 Oct of this magnificent full day tour of Chianti. She was absolutely excellent, so fluent, well organised and thorough in attending to the need of all 18 attendees from around the world. Living in San Gimignano, but spent some years in the US, Lavi Lavinia was able to catered superbly to the diet and sight-seeing needs of every participant. Seldom did we come across such a friendly, efficient and fluent English-speaking native Italian guide. Itinerary of this Chianti tour and choice of dining/tasting sites is excellent. We sampled a wide range of wines, cheese and local food in most scenic spots. The driver was very skilled in safely taking us through very scenic roads through Chianti, then safely back to Florence. It is a 4-wheel mini bus - great. This is a top of the range tour of Chianti which provided us with an unforgettable memory. From Canadian Cooks
This tour was amazing. Lobs was a super guide I learned so much about the Tuscany region and about Chianti Classico and the super Tuscan wines. Our restaurant was fabulous. The food the wine unbelievable
This was a very relaxing tour and food tasting in the Countryside. I do caution, that if you get motion sick, the ride is extremely curvy. Two people got sick on our tour.
The tour was excellent. Stefano was our guide and he was really great beautiful scenery, food, and wine. Highly recommended.
This was absolutely one of my very favorite parts of our trip! We had Martina for a tour guide and she was incredible!! She was so knowledgeable and friendly! We learned so much from her and she kept the whole trip very interesting. The wine was amazing, the views were incredible and the food was delicious. It was just a perfect day! We cannot say enough good things about her and this tour, absolutely worth booking!
Leviana may be spelled wrong was an amazing tour guide! She is passionate about the experience and genuinely enjoyed the day with us rather than the perception that it is just a job to her. She was funny and took us deep into the heart of Tuscany to places one could never find on their own. She was able to explain the processes of both wine making and olive oil making and of course, provided great wineries for us to go to. I loved learning about the region and the history of Tuscany and how it all played in to the wine development as well.
The food was great and the wine was more than worth it. All of the wineries were very generous in their tastings. Being able to explore on our own was also a welcomed treat rather than feeling fully contained and cattle herded.
Will absolutely be back! - Sydney Wooten
This trip is honestly one of my favourite memories of all time. We were so well taken care of. Everything from the scenery to to wine was so beautiful.
This is one of the best tours that I've ever been on. Our tour guide, Martina, was amazing the entire time. She was very knowledgeable and really helped to make the tour enjoyable. She was also really great at accommodating my special dietary restrictions vegetarian and always made sure that I had a cheese or plain pasta to substitute for the meat options. The tour took you to 3 different small, boutique wineries and they were all amazing. All of the wine options were great and the lunch that was served at the 2nd location was the best meal that I've ever had in all of Italy. The views in the hills of Tuscany were unbeatable and the entire day was one of the best days that I've ever had. I would highly suggest that anyone thinking of going to the wine regions in Tuscany go on this tour. Also - I'm not a red wine drinker and since we went to Chianti almost all red wines I was worried I wouldn't like any of the wines. I actually enjoyed almost every red wine that I tried and there were a few rose and white wines to try too so there is something for everyone.
Our tour guide Lavi was awesome! She was so knowledgable, frendly and kept,us on schedule. I learned alot about wine that I did not know. The wineries were really special. The lunch location and food was so incredible. Ending our tour with a short visit to Greve was just what we needed after a long day. I can't say enough about how wonderful the memories
The tour was amazing, in every way. The knowledge of our guide was fantastic and the wineries we went to were spectacular. The lunch we had was the highlight of the tour and will be a great surprise to all that choose this tour. Wow
This was a great tour! Our tour guide, Lavi, was terrific! Her English was perfect. She was very knowledgeable about the Chianti region, wines and olive oil. She was super funny and made the overall experience wonderful! Thank you Lavi!
