We loved this tour. Our guide Gloria was extremely knowledgeable and a fun guide. The wineries we visited were very unique and very beautiful. Our lunch was also extremely delicious. It was a long day but a great way to see the Tuscan wine region. I would highly recommend this tour!
My wife and I enjoyed the entire experience. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, the food was delicious and the views were spectacular.
Martina, our tour guide was very enjoyable. She had great knowledge of the area. It was a fun day! Thanks
We were a little concerned going into this about the how long the tour was going to last for, but it went SO quickly and every experience was excellent! Gloria was our guide and she was fantastic -- really really knowledgeable and very friend and funny. There was so much wine and food - I recommend this tour to anyone who comes to visit Florence. With 9 tastings some refills making it 9, each paired with certain foods that bring complement the wine, a large cheese and bread platter, a HUGE and super delicious lunch seriously, one of my favorites the whole 10 days in Italy, and deli meats and crackers at the end, this is a NO MISS EXPERIENCE. Don't forget about those Tuscan views, too!
Is there a sixth star? If so, I'd give it. Before knowing about this tour, we had wanted to explore the Italian countryside as a central goal of our first trip to Italy. We realized pretty quickly that trying to rent a car and then finding and navigating the best streets and towns to see was very confusing and was likely to fail on our own. On a whim we chose to book this tour instead.
This was one of the best choices we made in our trip -- the highlight of our two week stay. Lavinia, our tour guide, was fluent, articulate, very friendly, gracious, and made you completely at ease asking whatever questions you wanted. Further, being from the actual region of our tour, she could not only give general history but personal accounts that really helped shape our understanding. She is a gem of a guide.
About the tour itself, it was beautiful -- exactly what we hoped for. We navigated the countryside through all sorts of hidden back roads and narrow traffic lanes to see the best of the Chianti regions' wineries and small towns, thankful for the skill and experience of Sergio, our driver. We were taken to multiple historic wineries, tasted excellent wines, saw much of the picture-perfect countryside, had a wonderful lunch at a little known, exclusive restaurant in the heart of the region, and had an opportunity to explore one of the regions' small towns. Simply perfect. We recommend this fully.
Easy to meet up at the train station. Our guide, Gloria, was energetic, fun and informative about Tuscan wine and history.
Small bus and group of about 14.
Great scenery and commentary from the guide as we drove through Tuscan vineyards and estates.
We tasted wines with selected cheeses and other foods at two wineries. Very beautiful elegant estates. Toured the wine making facilities at each place. Tour was well-organized and we had private tasting rooms set up for us with wines and food. Very nice.
Third place was an agriturismo with an outstanding restaurant with sweeping views of a Tuscan valley. We enjoyed a lavish lunch of meats, salads, cheeses and of course wines. We spent a couple of hours here eating, drinking, talking and taking photos of the incredible views.
We also had free time in the picturesque Chianti town of Greve which is quite cute and has loads of shops.
Got back to Florence around 7 PM - dropped off at the train station.
Highly recommend this all day tour.
We had the best time on this tour! The wine and food was absolutely delicious but without a doubt the best part of the tour was our guide, Lavi. She is so knowledgeable and fun to be around that it made this tour the highlight of our Italy trip.
Do yourself a favor and do this tour and ask for Lavi
Our tour guide, Martina, was fun, knowledgeable and entertaining. Wonderful wine, fantastic food and incredible sights. Worth every penny!
AMAZING day trip with Gloria, our guide, and Sergio, our driver. Gloria was knowledgable, welcoming, and a joy to spend the day with. We were in a group of 12, 6 couples in total, and had a great time getting to know everyone. We learned so much, and came home with a few souvenirs including two bottles of wine!. The lunch was delicious, and the location beautiful. So glad we did the tour instead of driving ourselves around, especially as the roads are very twisty and turning be sure to eat breakfast before you leave, and bring some water! Highly recommend this tour, was probably the best day of our trip!
This tour was the highlight of our trip to Italy! Now being home, we find ourselves still craving to go back and see more of the Chianti region. Alessandro, our tour guide, was awesome! He was incredibly knowledgeable and funny. This region's natural beauty speaks for itself and pictures just do not do it justice.
The wine tastings were excellent and truly were the center of this tour. If you are looking to go to Italy and take a day where someone else chauffeurs you around and plans your itinerary, this is the tour for you.

Tour guide was very educated. Money well spent. Recommend to everyone. A must do in Florence.
This was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. I highly recommend this tour!
We took 3 different day tours from Florence and this was by far the most enjoyable. Alex was very knowledgeable and informative and very good at keeping your interest.
This tour was a highlight of our trip. Martina our tour guide was fantastic. She was so knowledgeable and passionate. Stunning views, delicious food, wine and olive oil. I would recommend this tour to anyone and it is definitely worth the money.
Alex was a fantastic tour guide ! So knowledgeable and passionate about wine and his country. Each location was beautiful. The wines were great and the foods were delicious.
This was a delightful day in the Tuscan countryside. The stops were beautiful and the lunch was fantastic. If you are looking for a true wine tasting experience this is not it. But it is a great food and wine experience. The tour guide, Stefano, was funny, well informed and a joy to spend the day with. We were veery pleased we went!
Had a fabulous day with our lovely guide Lavi, she made the day with her comprehensive knowledge of the area, her fun nature and willingness to answer all of our many questions. the scenery was just stunning. The lunch was beyond our expectations, a really great day
Highlight of our tour of Italy!! Alessandro was fantastic and the description was exactly what was described and so much more!! It happened to be the Annual Chianti festival in Greve and Alessandro was nice enough to ask us if we wanted to stay in the town a little longer so we could all enjoy the winery samples that were being offered. YES please!!! The in-depth explanation and tours of the wineries was perfect and everything was top quality, profession and fun!! I was nervous about meeting at the train station but everything ran smoothly, their location was clearly marked and they even waiting a little longer for a couple running late. We got to enjoy the countryside without worrying about drinking to much or navigation. Alessandro and our driver took care of everything for us. My husband even has a lactose allergy and Alessandro worked with the restaurant to make sure he could eat everything! A fantastic tour and experience that I have already recommended to friends that are planning their trip to Italy. Would definitely recommend. This tour was hosted by Walkabout Tours in Florence and we will definitely make sure that any tours we book are hosted by them on our next trip.
Thank you Alessandro for making part of our honeymoon such a wonderful trip!
Fantastic tour. The wine and the food were amazing. Guide was fantastic too.
The day trip was excellent and that was with it raining all day. The wine was great. The food was phenomenal. Our guide Gloria was just amazing. She was really knowledge and interesting and definitely helped to make the trip
An excellent experience! Wow! I highly recommend this tour.
Exactly as described. Our tour was on September 17 with a small group and in a small bus.
Gloria, our guide, and Salvatore, our driver, were professional, friendly and very accommodating.
Gloria, a local herself, is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about this subject. She is very articulate and her delivery is informative, detailed and very convincing. She gladly answered our questions--and then some. Also, unlike other tours we've been on, at the end of the journey, never once did she solicit gratuities for herself or the driver. All she asked for was reviews. A classy operation.
Walkabout is a smaller company with great attention to detail.
The tour covers a part of the Chianti region in Tuscany. We visited 3 vineyards and wineries, and sampled 9 wines in total 3x3. In addition, we had a stop in Greve, a charming small town famous for its wine and meat products--which we also sampled.
Sampling at each stop was paired with various foods cheeses, meats, etc.. Also for lunch we visited a farm and restaurant where the wine sampling was paired with a full meal of appetizers, sides, pasta and a variety of grilled meats. All high quality.
This restaurant has stunning views and is the type of place celebrities visit seriously.
I only hope we can take part in their other tours in the future, especially with Gloria. Excellent job!
Our guide Stefano was outstanding and made the day all that much special! We learned so much about wines, the specific region they're produced in and the wine making process and grading from him., who is especially knowledgeable. We visited three wineries that were all excellent.
When we took the Tuscany tour during our visit to Italy last year we had the pleasure of having Stefano as a tour guide so it was a great reunion!
Highly recommend this tour and the guide!
This was unbelievable! First off, Alessandro was an amazing guide - he was very knowledgeable and also very personable at the same time! The scenery was beautiful and the wineries were great. The wine tasting pours were definitely generous and the food was some of the best in a 2 week stay in Italy!
