I appreciated, in hindsight, how uncrowded this museum was in comparison to many of the others I visited on my journey through Italy. I was able to really spend some time and appreciate the art without the usual pushing and shoving. It does help to go early in the morning we were there at 9am, and the line was already getting long. If you have a chance to purchase skip-the-line tickets for ANYTHING over here, I highly recommend you do so. The highlight is, of course, Michelangelo's statue of David. It's impressive to know that he carved that statue from a single block of marble. Overall, this is a smaller museum than some of the others, so you can get through it without taking up the entire day, but I suggest taking advantage of the sparser crowds here and really take it all in. Once you tour the Vatican museum, for example, you will yearn for the time you spent here, just based on crowd size.
timed ticket went to plan all on time no guide excellent trip on our own no problem.
You can't leave Florence without visiting David. The skip-the-line ticket was a great call and necessary for a quick visit even during our slow season visit November 2017.
This was an unguided tour, we was all we felt we needed. It was worth being there early and having a skip the line.
We were able to walk right in and start looking at all the beautiful sculptures and paintings. Museum was not crowded at all. Absolutely worth it.
We were able to walk right in and start looking at all the beautiful sculptures and paintings. The museum was not crowded at all. Definitely worth it.
When we approached the Accademia, we saw the huge line up and were rather deflated. However, a quick trip to pick up our ticket allowed us to skip the line and go right in. We likely saved well over an hour of waiting time. Well worth the ticket price!!!
This was just a skip the line ticket. We were given an entrance time which we did not choose ourselves. It was at 10am but this was good as the museum wasn't yet busy. We went straight to see David and then wandered around at our own pace. David is certainly worth seeing in all his magnificence and booking ahead certainly skips the crowds on busy days.
We had no issues obtaining our ticket, which you get across the street from the Academia, and the guides were efficient at telling us where to queue to go through security and enter the Museum. We rented the Audio headsets at the Gift Shop, which were very helpful in guiding us through the highlights of the Museum. Would definitely recommend earlier entry time, as the lines were increasing as we left.
Buy these tickets in advance or you will be stuck waiting in line for a long time! Absolutely worth it!
Great museum, Seeing David with your own eyes is remarkable.
As our time was very limited in Florence, if we had not purchased these tickets, we probably would not have gotten into the museum that day. The lines were hours long. It was well worth paying a little extra for these tickets to not have to waste valuable time in line. We just got right in. It was great!
A must see if you can possibly manage it. As well as David, which is glorious, the gallery has other fine sculptures.
For anyone going to Florence, SKIP THE LINE is a must! You definitely want to maximize your time in these museums and this is the best way to do it. Waiting in line and having to que up with literally hundreds of other people and wait for some indeterminent amount of time is not a good use of your time unless you have days and days to spend in Florence or any of these cities. Spend the few bucks for this and you will not regret it! By the Way...Seeing THE DAVID with my own eyes was probably one of the highlights of the entire trip. Pictures do not do it justice.
Worth the ticket! Did not have time to stand on line and so enjoyed it! You can pick up your ticket anytime that day you sign up - did not know that and was worried it would not work...super easy and nice to skip the line! WORTH seeing and don't miss! Amazing piece of art - 17 feet tall. Loved the experience!
worked as promised. we were put into the advance ticket line and were in the museum within fifteen minutes of arrival.
The Skip-the-Line Florence Academia Gallery and Michelangelo's David ticket helped us locate the museum and make good use of our time in Florence. There is supposed to be a time to enter the gallery listed on the voucher, but mine did not have a time listed. We went to the museum to find out the appointed time prior to the date, which was essential. Note: using an audible guide inside the gallery is worth the cost and effort. On the day of the admittance, there were not many people in line to get into the gallery when we went inside. When we came out, the line for tickets was several blocks long.
If you want to get into the Accademia Gallery and skip the line, this is the way to go. We purchased the tickets to get into the Gallery and were able to get in a little ahead of time. What a great experience.
I would highly recommend buying a skip the line pass for this place. The general admission line had a 45 min wait and after walking miles all day, we were very happy to be able to go right in. The David was amazing!!! I highly recommend getting the audio guide because there were some other pieces that were also very nice to see and learn about. So much history! Very nice visit!
This wasn't a tour but instead just tickets, which is exactly what I expected. I had no issues.
