Nothing betters a day wizzing in beautiful countryside around the wine region on a Vespa, stopping for coffee and cakes, enjoying the vineyard views and ending the day with a buffet and Chianti tasting. You can't go wrong with that !
Best trip ever! Highly recommend. Have fun!
We had a great time with Serena and Daniele several months ago, very late in writing this review! We were picked up on time in an easy-to-get-to location and driven out in a van to the vespas. After a practice run, off we went! The vespa ride itself was fun we stopped in a few picturesque locations, and a vineyard, and then returned after about 2 hours. We had a great lunch with wine tasting and then were taken back to Florence. Serena also gave us some great tips on where to eat for the next few days and all of them were spot on.
One note - I've never ridden a vespa before and was clinging to the back of my husband's bike. If you're a little scared of vespa-ing, this might not be for you. My dad has driven a scooter before, but he had a bit of a hard time in the practice area and ended up with my mom in the 'support' vehicle. So, they still got to see everything and the Florencetown tour group was great about being flexible.
This was the best experience we had in our 20 day four country European vacation. The weather was perfect, the scenery was breathtaking and our guides were fabulous. This was a perfect country escape after spending the majority of our time in large cities and inside museums.
Best ride and day spent while in Florence. It gets better if you have some experience with an automatic Vespa. Great people, great landscape and amazing food at lunch. MUST DO!
This was awesome fun! Small group so you really get to know everyone. A bit cumbersome on the paperwork, etc., but once we took off, such fun! There's about 90 minutes of total drive time, and you visit a small town for 30 minutes be sure to walk outside of the square when you park there's much more to explore that we didn't realize until we took off, and a winery but no tasting, before ending up at a really nice lunch or dinner with wine tasting depending if you took the morning or afternoon tour to end the tour. They really make sure everyone knows how to drive well before allowing you to pilot your own Vespa. I'm so glad I was a passenger! If you haven't done it before, seems difficult - and they will definitely use their judgement if someone is too shaky to either carry a passenger, or even drive it themselves. Also remember to bring your license if you're a driver - or a copy of one. Otherwise, you must be a passenger. This was one of our top experiences during a 30 day visit to Italy. I highly recommend!
Loved this tour ! I do recommend clients are told to wear closed toe shoes. We did the tour in September and the ride back was so chilly so bring a sweatshirt. Felt safe on the road , our guides took good care for us. The vineyard was just a quick visit , the food after was pretty good and we sampled some lovely wine. Paperwork took up a lot of time that should be able to filled out online. Repairs to bikes should be made, we didn't have wing mirrors on our scooter. Definately recommend it, great to see the Tuscan countryside and a lovely stop in a small town
The tour was excellent. Traveled throughout the towns and roads of wine country. Visited a local winery and had a family style dinner to include the tour.
Great, but more wineries next time.
DONT MISS THIS TOUR. IT ROCKS!
