We had a great time with Serena and Daniele several months ago, very late in writing this review! We were picked up on time in an easy-to-get-to location and driven out in a van to the vespas. After a practice run, off we went! The vespa ride itself was fun we stopped in a few picturesque locations, and a vineyard, and then returned after about 2 hours. We had a great lunch with wine tasting and then were taken back to Florence. Serena also gave us some great tips on where to eat for the next few days and all of them were spot on.
One note - I've never ridden a vespa before and was clinging to the back of my husband's bike. If you're a little scared of vespa-ing, this might not be for you. My dad has driven a scooter before, but he had a bit of a hard time in the practice area and ended up with my mom in the 'support' vehicle. So, they still got to see everything and the Florencetown tour group was great about being flexible.
This was the best experience we had in our 20 day four country European vacation. The weather was perfect, the scenery was breathtaking and our guides were fabulous. This was a perfect country escape after spending the majority of our time in large cities and inside museums.
Best ride and day spent while in Florence. It gets better if you have some experience with an automatic Vespa. Great people, great landscape and amazing food at lunch. MUST DO!
This was awesome fun! Small group so you really get to know everyone. A bit cumbersome on the paperwork, etc., but once we took off, such fun! There's about 90 minutes of total drive time, and you visit a small town for 30 minutes be sure to walk outside of the square when you park there's much more to explore that we didn't realize until we took off, and a winery but no tasting, before ending up at a really nice lunch or dinner with wine tasting depending if you took the morning or afternoon tour to end the tour. They really make sure everyone knows how to drive well before allowing you to pilot your own Vespa. I'm so glad I was a passenger! If you haven't done it before, seems difficult - and they will definitely use their judgement if someone is too shaky to either carry a passenger, or even drive it themselves. Also remember to bring your license if you're a driver - or a copy of one. Otherwise, you must be a passenger. This was one of our top experiences during a 30 day visit to Italy. I highly recommend!
Loved this tour ! I do recommend clients are told to wear closed toe shoes. We did the tour in September and the ride back was so chilly so bring a sweatshirt. Felt safe on the road , our guides took good care for us. The vineyard was just a quick visit , the food after was pretty good and we sampled some lovely wine. Paperwork took up a lot of time that should be able to filled out online. Repairs to bikes should be made, we didn't have wing mirrors on our scooter. Definately recommend it, great to see the Tuscan countryside and a lovely stop in a small town
The tour was excellent. Traveled throughout the towns and roads of wine country. Visited a local winery and had a family style dinner to include the tour.
We really enjoyed our afternoon! Can't say enough about the scenery, guides and afternoon lunch/dinner. Would highly recommend this day trip.
Absolutely amazing! This is one of the best things I have done on any trip abroad! So much fun!
Super fun way to see Tuscany! We met some great friends along the way!
Excellent tour. Everything was pretty well organized and comfortable. The tour guides Olimpia and Letitia kept everyone entertained and they were very careful with taking care of the group.Very knowledgeable and the vespas were great! The food at the winery could have been better a i think their helpings could have been larger. We just got one serving of pasta each but it was delicious...left us wanting more but all in all a awesome tour. Highly recommended.
This was one of our favorite activities that we did while in Italy. The staff was very kind and fun! Such a beautiful area to ride and see the countryside.
Absolutely amazing! We met at piazza and walked to van for transport to the location outside of Florence where the Vespas are located. This includes incredible views overlooking the city of Florence. After a brief 'training' and signing of papers, we were off. Country roads were great! The Chianti countryside in that region of Italy is unequalled! We visited 2 vineyards and wineries. Stopped in the small town of Greve cappuccino time- so beautiful! After returning to started point, parked the scooters and took short walk to small winery for a generous lunch and winetasting. This was one of those few special days in life that you cherish forever!
Fun way to spend an afternoon in Florence! Great views on the Vespa ride, followed by a delicious meal. Would recommend.
What fun this was! Driving through the Tuscan hills on your own scooter, enjoying the sights and smells of the rolling hills...a unique way to experience Tuscany. Be sure you can ride a Vespa - if you've never ridden a motorized bike of some sort, know that it's not just like riding a bicycle. Several of the people in our group overestimated their ability, and were accommodated by getting to ride in an open golf cart instead, which still gave the feel of the open-air experience. We stopped at a family-owned winery, and got an interesting tour of the aging rooms. After the ride there was a nice lunch buffet overlooking the hills. One of our favorite tours!
This tour was such fun and a welcome change of pace from the tourist events in Florence. Tour was prompt, fun, good guides. I over estimated my own level of courage on the Vespa, so I rode in a van along with a couple of others but it was super fun anyway. My older brother LOVED riding the Vespa. Guides were delightful and safety conscious. Definitely would do this again.....even as a rider!
Highly recommend! Tour was phenomenal as was food! Great way to see the Tuscan countryside and we loved the winery! Would recommend to anyone over 15.
This was the highlight of our trip to Florence. We underestimated how much seat time we were going to have. The ride was pleasant and is as advertised. The Tuscan countryside seems to have been frozen in time and we all benefit from it. We can't recommend this tour enough. We had a couple of seniors on our trip and they were able to handle the Vespa beginning of the trip trains you on scooter. If you are deemed safe, they will let you go out on the road. If they feel you aren't getting the grasp of it, you will be riding in a little trike/cart driven by the staff. Either way, you're still going to enjoy yourself so don't hesitate to sign up!
Had a lot of fun touring on a Vespa! It was nice to get out of the city and see the country side and some beautiful Vineyards! The food and wine were delicious!
Outstanding and lots of fun. Meal was absolutely fabulous after the Vespa tour. Do it. Tuscany was gorgeous
It was great! My husband and I had a wonderful time!!! My husband really enjoyed driving the Vespa I was little more nervous :! We had some great food and really enjoyed the scenery!
This tour was a highlight of our vacation! Our guides Valerio and Damiano were superb and Valerio's passion for wine was highly contagious. Our group consisted of nine people and we rode many miles through the picturesque Tuscany hills, with a few stops along the way. We had a wide selection of dishes for lunch and we sampled a couple of wines at that time. We highly recommend this tour.
