Our tour guide Francesca was spectacular! She was very knowledgeable about Florence and showed us all the great highlights. Lunch was delicious, but very rushed because we had to make it to the train station for our bus to the Chianti region. I think another 15 minutes would have helped.
The wine tour was wonderful. The commentary on the way out of town was informative and the bus ride was smooth. We loved both of the vineyards we visited. All of the tastings were exceptionally great!
As some have said, the trip can feel a bit tight in terms of the timing having said that however, definitely great value for the money. The guides and drivers were knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. I have a greater appreciation for Florence and the Chianti Region thanks to this trip.
Our guides were knowledgeable and very nice. We had a nice time.
Great way to fit in a full day in Florence. The walking tour was informative and well done. The Chianti part was definitely the highlight. Visited two amazing vineyards with detailed wine and olive oil tasting and the opportunity to send some true Chianti Classico back home
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and it was more than worth our money!! Definitely recommend! We started out with an hour and a half walking tour of Florence, which really explained the history of Florence and showed us sights we wouldn't have noticed if we just walked the city on our own. After the tour we were provided lunch at a great little restaurant which included any beverage, pizza or pasta and dessert. After lunch we proceeded to the bus station where we took a coach bus to the region of Chianti. We stopped at to wineries. At the first we had a brief tour of the winery and tasted 4 different wines, grappa, 2 olive oils and 2 balsamic vinegars, all made at the winery. We were also given breads, meat and cheeses to try as well. At the second winery, we sampled 2 wines and were given some free time to explore the little fortress surrounding it. I would definitely recommend this trip if you want to explore the wine country of Florence and also get a taste of Florence!
Great walking tour of the city with a great guide. The only downside was the walking guide was kinda short. Lunch was great and then the two wineries were amazing! I highly recommend this tour.
Overall experience what just WONDERFUL!!! Our guide was an Egyptian mix guy and he was great! Very friendly, he explained us everything about the history of the city. The lunch that was included in the package was very delicious we asked the pasta, tiramisu, and appetizers, everything delicious and fresh. The wine tour was great too! I definitely recommend the first winery that we went to in Chianti region and the second one in Monteriggione too. I loved all about this tour!
Great experience for the price! The tour guide for the walking tour had a very interesting perspective on Florence's history. Then we had a fantastic 3-course lunch with wine included in the price!. For the wine tasting portion, we got to taste about 8 different wines, several olive and truffle oils, breads, cheeses, and balsamic vinegars. Nothing overly personalized / fancy, but again--great value for the price, this is definitely worth it!
Absolutely gorgeous wine tour! The walking tour was also lovely- our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Lunch was a bit rushed as the tour went long and we had to catch the bus to the wineries, but the food was top notch! There was also a delay due to traffic coming in and out of Florence, but everything on this tour is well worth any wait time. Would recommend and do again.
It was really rushed in between walk and lunch. No time to eat at all. We had to take it with us and just made the meeting place in time. 1st wine tasting stop was great! 2ncd one we had no time to look around or buy anything.
The bus was nice, the trip was very pretty. I would have liked more time at the ruins, but otherwise very nice.
I would have rated this tour much higher but for the issue with lunch. This was not one tour, but two different tours packaged together. This would not have been a problem except that the first tour ended at about 1:45 and I was supposed to order lunch, eat it, and walk to the train station, arriving by 2:10. This was a physical impossibility, in spite of the tour guide's protestations to the contrary. I barely made it to the meeting point for the second tour as it was. So I paid for a lunch I was not able to have. Fortunately, the second tour included small plates of bread, cheese and salami with the wine tastings so I didn't starve. The first tour was very informative and comprehensive and the second tour was totally delightful so all in all, it was a good day!
It was a great experience. I would have given four stars if it wasn't for the quickness of the tour. Everything moved too fast. It was a great tour and would recommend it to others.
My review is actually 2 parts. First, our tour guide was excellent. He was witty and provided great insight into all the places we visited and worked well with the group in spite of pouring rain. This is no reflection on his work. This tour is actually 2 tours. The problem is the walking tour takes so long, you have no time to eat lunch and get to the 2nd tour for the wine tasting. We had to leave the walking tour early to run to the bus station to get our bus for the wine tour and had no chance to eat. The wine tour is basically a selling feature. Here is a little of this, a little of that, buy a bottle and move on. Very rushed and assembly line like. I would not recommend this double tour and would suggest booking the walking tour of Florence as a single tour to better enjoy it. If you want to do the wine tasting tour, do it as a separate tour but be advised it is very quick and more like a presentation/sales job to buy the wine not really what I would call a wine tasting event.
Viator should discontinue tours with the company My Tour. I would not recommend this tour to anyone. Unless you appreciate a guide saying and this is statue but there is no significance and it doesn't have a name, it's just here. This statement doesn't even make sense, why would there be a statue with no meaning in a main plaza of the city. Especially, when everything has significance in Italy. The guide seemed like he barely wanted to be there and did not make the tour enjoyable at all it actually made me not like Florence for my first day there. Not to mention, when he was explaining something briefly and un-knowledgeable as he could, he chose to stand in the burning sun versus the shade a few steps over. At the very end we had lunch included, well, the guide dropped us off in the middle of the city and gave us half directions to the lunch place when he could of walked us, where we didn't even had time for lunch so we had to take the food and walk an additional 15 mins to the train station for the wine part of the tour. Luckily, wine fixed the horrible experience from the first half of the tour. Overall, everything was completely disorganized, unfriendly, noneducational and a bad experience.
