Came to Fort Lauderdale for my honeymoon and desired to tour the sites with my new bride and enjoy the warm weather. Flamingo Gardens offered us an experience that we can't get anywhere else. It was the first time for either of us to not only see flamingos, but also to feed them by hand! The Tram Ride was informative, and I recommend for anyone going to the Gardens to go on the Tram first, which takes visitors through the park and highlights the unique aspects of this beautiful sanctuary for wounded animals. The Animal Encounters show was very impressive and enjoyable. When we come back to Fort Lauderdale, we certainly will return.
We had a wonderful time and the attendants at the gardens were very nice. We would have loved to spend my time here but had to head out to return home.
It was a great park even better what they are doing for the animals there
No crowds the day we went. Tram carried only six designed for forty. I took many photos. I was glad for the heritage preserved, and we got to see more with the tram.

This place was a great to spend a Saturday afternoon. Outside of the leggy Flamingos, this place is a refuge for many rehabilitated animals such as bobcats, river otters and even a bear named Josh. Flamingo Gardens is also home to the tallest tree in Florida and one with largest in circumference, 54 feet!

We had some time to spare in Ft Lauderdale, so we went over to Flamingo Gardens to check it out. The gardens are great and the tram ride was very informative - seeing 5 different ecosystems in a 30-minute ride... I loved the animals though - reading the stories of how they came to be at Flamingo Gardens was very sad, but so awesome that they have found wonderful, caring homes here..
We had a great time at Flamingo Gardens. The tram ride around the park is well worth it. The guide is very informative. They have a few animals and lots of birds. They take in injured animals and care for them. It's a non-profit organization so any donations are gratefully received. You can also look through the old homestead which has some great old photos. There is a gift shop and food and drink stalls throughout the park. Also a walk through aviary. A taxi from Fort Lauderdale cost around $40 usd.
Gardens were good but not much in bloom this time of year. Love the fact that it's a sanctuary for injured animals. Loved the peacocks and peahens. Best part was being able to feed flamingos! Tram was ok but again not much to see because not much was in bloom. Overall good few hours
Great place to visit lots of things to do and great vistas for viewing.
