We took the cruise from Koblenz to Bingen. The day we went was cloudy, but the views were still great almost as good as a Viking River Cruise commercial. The staff was pleasant and food service was good. Overall, we enjoyed the cruise and would do it again if we find ourselves in the region.

Travel Note: we had a Viator voucher which needed to be exchanged for a ticket. Although the voucher states an electronic version can be presented, the ticket agent really wanted a paper print-out. By accepting the electronic version, she was required to complete a form before she could give us the tickets.

May 2018 - Wonderful experience! The hop on/ hop off terminology is a bit misleading since you really need to look at the port schedules very closely. One boat travels up the Rhine and one travels down. Not all ports have convenient departure and return times. We ended up driving to the town of Rudesheim to have better departure times because Wiesbaden only had one departure time. Aside from the complexity of determining the departure time/place - the cruise was unbelievable! It was worth the trouble to se the beautiful castles and sites!

My family and I went on this cruise last July. It was awesome - we really enjoyed it. The only question we had was that it was posted on the Frankfurt page. The cruise isn't anywhere near Frankfurt. Luckily, we had a rental car and, so, were able to make the one hour plus drive to the boats.

The sights were second to none. If you want to see castles in a relaxed manner this is the way to go, Rhine River 20 castles tour. Once on the boat, I picked out my chair and table sat back and enjoyed the tour. A glass of wine later I was chilled and in awe of the magnificent scenery. Audio commentaries came on as the castles approached. Informative and to the point. First in German and then in English. The service was friendly and quick.
Earlier I had contacted viator company because I had messed up the date of my ticket, they looked into it and in no time they fixed my mistake and I was on my way on my cruise.
Thank you for handling that so professionally.
Until next time, I will do this cruise again I am sure of it.

We really enjoyed this river cruise however, we made the mistake of going both ways. We would have preferred to travel only one way, especially since it was so cold when we were there in August. It is a spectacular cruise for seeing a lot of castles, and we had a great time at Boppard. It's a charming little town that we had never heard of until we arrived there.

It was difficult trying to figure out the time schedule, and missed the morning departure. We took a train to the turn around location and got on board and got to see the awesome views on the Rhine River!

Super nice tour with an amazing view. The only down side is that due to the schedule we only have 45min to visit Rudesheim.

The river trip and views were awesome. Unfortunately the loudspeakers were not very good and I wish there had been a stop at the first castle.

The Rhine River tour was Great. Awesome, Awesome. Only One Problem. 4 Boats and You Have No Clue Which One. Very Poor Instructions. I would rate the boat ride a 5. As far as the rest. I, was most Stressed. They get a Zero. We almost missed the boat.

The Viator voucher Rhine River 20 Castles.. was not what we expected. When we presented our voucher at Cologne, the ticket office clerk told us that to see the heritage section of the river, we would need to take a 2 hour train journey to Koblenz, presumably the nearest starting point for the 20 castles section of the river. Time did not allow this, so we took a day trip on the river. The Rhine that we saw was reasonably interesting, but not what we thought we had bought. We had only two seriously disappointing days on our 28 day Europe holiday, and this was one of them.
