This was one of the best excursions I have ever experienced. We came in a little behind schedule as we were on the Carnival Dream. When we arrived we were quickly upgraded to a catamaran sailing excursion. The staff and captain of the Bootlegger were all very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend this excursion to anyone looking for an exciting adventure.
Brice did a great job getting us to and from our excursion. John was a great boat captain, getting us to the reef before the other boats and tourists arrived. A very nice excursion. Thank you!
We booked this tour outside of the cruise ship and we were very pleased. We were the only ones on our ship that booked the early morning tour on Viator. When we debarked, there was someone at the dock waiting for us. Our guide drove us to Deadman's Reef which was about a 30 minute car ride. When we arrived, we were the only tourist there. We had to pay an 11 per person admission fee for use of the beach. All snorkeling equipment was included in the price of the tour except for the required flotation devise. We rented the flotation devise from the beach area which also required a deposit but was refunded upon the return of the flotation. The beach was great and it was easy access to the reefs. I must say, it was wonderful having the beach to ourselves without a lot of others people around. The water was beautiful and clear. We saw a lot of pretty coral and fish and the sandy beach was great. As we were leaving, three bus loads of people were pulling up to snorkel. So glad we had the early morning tour booked as we loved having the beach to ourselves. There were lockers, dressing rooms, restrooms and food available. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I would definitely recommend this tour.
We had a great time exploring Freeport at Deadman’s Reef! Our tour guides were excellent, explaining many of the wonderful details and facts from the island and were extremely friendly. The beach itself was nice and quiet, the water clear and beautiful. We didn’t get to explore much due to being there in December, it was a bit cold but we did get in for a little. We saw a stingray hanging out on the beach front and there was thousands of jelly fish, [they didn’t sting] which was quite awesome, I have never gotten to swim with jelly fish! The kids loved picking them up! There were also some tropical fish closer into shore, but it was too cold for us to venture out to the main reef, I am sure it was filled with beautiful fish. There was a place for you to grab food and drinks if you were hungry. There was also other things you could rent, such as kayaks, paddle boards, floatation devices, and etc. It was a great trip and I would recommend it to anybody!
My excursion was awesome! My cruise changed the ports from Freeport on Wednesday to Friday. I was able to call the company and they changed my excursion date from Wednesday to Friday with no problems and we appreciated it. Our guide Bryce was very knowledgeable and friendly. It was worth the cost. We were able to snorkel from 130p to 430p at our leisure all equipment was included. The only additional cost was the floatation device , locker and food at Paradise Cove which is all optional. I will definitely use Fran Tours again and recommend them to my friends and family when they visit Freeport. Thanks for making my trip a memorable experience!
We were picked up right on time. We were the only ones to get on the bus but the guide was still amazing. We learned a lot about the island. We got to the beach and it was beautiful. We saw a lot of fish and we found a lot of coral. We had drinks and cochlear fritters. I highly recommend this tour.
Our family had a great time on this excursion at less cost than Carnivals excursion that was at the beach next to us. Our family of 4 had the beach to ourselves for the first hour and for the next 2 hours only 5 other people were on our stretch of beach. Good snorkelling and a super clean snack bar/ bar/ bathroom/ shower building.
We would have never gone on the excursion if another family hadn't been there too. We were waiting at Senor Frogs like we were supposed too and no one showed up. The other family had a phone and called the number on the receipt we had printed as a receipt. We were then told to walk to another area outside the gate and wait a few minutes. A stretch limo picked us up. The driver was very nice and apologetic. He had not received the information about picking us up until we called them. So technically we wouldn't have gone if it hadn't been for the other family having a phone. We started about 30 minutes behind schedule, but after the initial confusion, it was great. We had a limo ride, we had a great time snorkeling, all the people at the beach were nice and friendly. We loved the snorkeling. When we finished snorkeling, a bus picked us up. A very nice girl was driving and she took us on a scenic tour on the way back to the ship. She was very informative about the island and she stopped a couple times for us to look at things. Overall, we had a great time. I am so thankful we got to go after the confusion.
This excursion was excellent. Van took us to a beach we had to ourselves. All equipment was provided and instruction was given to the first time snorklers. Water was clear as glass and the sea life was amazing. The staff prepared fresh conk fritters... delicious! Book with confidence.
It was great! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The people we went through watched our stuff for us while we were out in the water. The actual beach and coral were great. We saw a sea turtle and stingray. They also had a artificial reef where we could see all kinds of fish. This was the second time I have done this and would definitely do it a third time!
It was a Great Tour - Especially because the Driver was Funny and had very interesting information about the Island. We enjoyed the Snorkeling and the fact that the Equipment was included in the Tour. A Good Value. From Daytona Beach, Fl.
The snokeling was awesome! It could have been a lot better had the mouth pieces not had holes in them.. They were constantly feeling with water. We saw some amazing fish and reef and some turtles. Just take your own gear!
A little rough getting started, but once we got started it was nice. It was a out of the way cove which was clean and well maintained. The snorkeling area was "picked over well". The food and drink service was top notch. Not a five star, due to lack of luxury atmosphere. We enjoyed it!
Very nice experience, the beach was beautiful and transportation to and from the cruise ship was great. The tour guides were very friendly and helpful.
The pick-up time for both excursions I booked was at 8:30 am, with all of us going to Paradise Cove. One pick up was in front of Senoir Frogs and the other pick up at the cruise terminal. We did not know that Senoir Frog was a mile walk from the terminal. Since we were all in the same party and going to the same place, we just assumed we could all be picked up in front of the cruise terminal although how we could all have the same pick up time at two different locations was beyond me. So after calling Fran's Tour pick up service, we were finally picked up at 9:00 am. The guide was very informative about the island, but once we got to Paradise Cove, she gave me daughter and her boyfriend their snorkel gear, placed a few drops of baby shampoo in the masks, took us to the desk to pay the fee for the island and told us they would be debriefed by someone else about where they could and couldn't go. She left to do another tour and said she would be back. As soon as my daughter got out to the water and went to put the mask on, it broke. She went up to the people where we checked in and they called the tour company. The gentlemen named Brice answered the phone and told her that his wife was on another tour and she might be able to bring another mask back in an hour or so. So at this point the pick-up was 30 mins late, the mask was broke and my daughter missed out on an hour of snorkeling time. I personally called Brice and he questioned me as to whether she went over the equipment with us. I told him that no she did not, and he proceeded to tell me that basically it was his wife's word against ours and that he could actually charge me 25.00 for damaged equipment. I had three other witnesses that could vouch that she did in fact not go over the equipment with us. He told me she would be back by 10:45 to drop another mask off. When she did come back with the mask, she still didn't go over with my daughter the mask to make sure it was not broken or worn in any way.
We looked at a few different sites for a snorkeling tour. This was advertised as the cheapest. That's because when you arrive at the beach they charge EACH person an additional $15 that is not figured into the cost that is advertised. don't let the cheaper prices fool you
Read the details carefully. The snorkeling doesn't include a life jacket. You have to pay extra for it. If only purchased the transport excursion, it does not include the "entrance fee" to sit on their beach. We did the afternoon option. The beach closes at 5. Our driver came back at 5:55. Scary!
Had to wait forever for the and #34;guide and #34; to pick us up! The snorkel equipment was and #34;used. and #34; Will only book this type of excursion through the cruise line in the future.
- Our trip was suppose to be approximately 4 hours, but we ended up only having 2.5 - 3 hours from the time we were scheduled to get picked up to the time we got dropped off with no explanation.
- Our group was not comfortable with swimming, so I made sure that there was going to be a guide with us the whole time, taking us out to and from the reef. The representative at Viator, after confirming with the local business, told me that there would be someone taking us to and from the reef but when I got there we were told that they don't provide that service. Only half of our group felt comfortable swimming out but because it was our first time and we didn't have a guide, we weren't able to make it to the other side of the reef where we were told to go, because of the limited time we had. The only reason I booked this excursion is because I was told that there would be someone guiding us the whole time, I knew that my group didn't feel comfortable going on their own.
- The ticket we received clearly stated that we were going to Paradise Cove but it got changed last minute to Crystal beach, also without an explanation. The only comment I received was that the reef was the same at this beach. There was only one other family at the beach, so it felt a bit too secluded.
- The van that we were picked up in was very run down, the seats were falling apart. I didn't expect a very fancy van by any means but I did not see any write about this in the reviews, someone even got picked up in a limousine!
- Only positive is that the driver waited for us even though our ship experienced delays when we got to the port which I also checked with them beforehand about and the driver was friendly.
- Only book here if you feel comfortable snorkeling on your own, you will NOT have someone swimming with you to and from the reef and beware of the tour guide/ driver cutting the excursion time short!
We didn't go. It was raining and very windy, not great conditions for a beach outing.
This excursion advertises that it is located on Paradise Cove Beach, NOT. Our tour guide was wonderful, but she was doing as she was advised to do through Fran's Tour. When we reached our destination, it was down an overgrown path that led to a locked gate. There were literally shacks at the side of the dirt path that people were living in. We did not see any of the historical or normal sightseeing on the way to the beach, but the extreme poverty that the islanders are forced to live in. When the driver realized that the gates were locked to this "private beach", she had to turn around and take us to the "REAL" Paradise Cove Beach. Snorkeling involved some masks and tubes out of a 25 gallon bin in the back of the tour bus that did not seem very sanitary. There was absolutely nothing included in this excursion, down to the beach chairs that were rented for $4 per person. The water was pristine, but it was 100% rock and coral. It was like walking barefoot on nails and glass when you got into the water. Although we did try to swim, we saw a string ray, grown crabs and lion fish in 1 foot deep water that was transparent. There was no mistaking what we saw. This was the biggest scam of any excursion I've ever been on, in 4 trips to the Bahamas. This excursion was not provided by the owner/operators of Paradise Cove Beach, but the beach is horrible. I find it no wonder that it has to be called a private beach, as noone in their right mind would knowingly pay to go there. For future travelers, please save your money for an excursion that is beneficial to yourself and your family. We couldn't wait to get back to the ship! And we got to pay $450 for this wonderful experience!
